You should follow the iTunes thread more often. Maybe you'd see P!nk is #1 on iTunes with quite a large lead and that she was only released on Friday. She also has her physical single out next week and the Sugababes don't.

 

 

I'm not actually sure whether Pink could get no.1 regarding the fact she has charted at 38 which is probably the lowest download single before physical for an artist who's no.1 on itunes over the same weekend. But here's hoping she'll beat massive climbers from the low end of the top 40 like The Script - TMWCBM & Sugababes - AYN and get a record to climb from 38 to No.1 as its a great grower of a record.

 

The killers and Kings Of Leon could be in the running though too i think.

 

Oasis will just miss out of the top 5 i reckon and Boyzone will definently break their top 3 success and go low top 10 :o

You're right lol, i don't have an ipod so don't follow it so closely. Although if i had a penny for every time i've seen a song underperform and someone post "but how? its so high on itunes?!" type comments, i'd have, well at least 10p! Its not the only download site, and downloads are not the only format. I'm not saying i thought sugas would be no1 as you'll see from my post, just suggesting they should be in the list as i think they're a possible and more likely than others e.g. the killers. Also Girls Radio Edit was only available from friday- it was only a(n expensive) remix EP which was available earlier last week with 10 minute versions of the song which sound little like the original so i'm still expecting a big climb (similar to your point regarding pink), especially considering they are doing shows with big viewing figures like strictly come dancing and GMTV this week- are Pink or Oasis doing any big promo?

 

Also look what Katy Perry managed with a midweek release- no4 on a couple of days d/ls, Pinks reception has been more lukewarm, and the AYN 35-1 jump was due to a remix version on a compilation being available to download a week before the e-single was (so not well promoted/the version of the song everyone wanted) so is kind of different. Would be cool to see that record smashed though!

Well, I heard Pink perform her new song live yesterday. It's rather catchy, and all the youngish people in the audience (it was at a telly recording: One Night Only) seemed to really go for it. I quite like it, though not exactly a fan, but I think it could go all the way.

pink or KOL. could be pink cause she has downloads and physicals plus she is in the UK this week doing high profile promo to boost her. however looking at the KOL sales for last week if they clear 40k this week then pink may struggle. KOL have the album out so buyers may be switching from buying the single to the album so they have that going against them. what they have going for them is their airplay, cause the track hasn't reached its full potential only at #17 if it continues to climb it should be reaching a wider audience (wider public) who may not be aware of the song = sales.

Fan-base alone will take Oasis number one surely?

If Sugababes go Number One on Sunday which is not likely they will still hold the title of the first british act to reach Number One on download's alone with "About You Now" last year.

 

Girls will go Number 3 and Number 2 the Sunday After.

The sugababes chances are def. better than the killers now! (as in they actually have a song out :heehee: they should so have been in this poll!- it doesn't look likely now but they were def. a possiblilty!). Although, their best chance may be next week when Pink and Oasis' physicals have died off and their own is released. Ok i'll shut up now.

 

Cheating as have seen the midweeks now, but Pink has a comfortable lead so it's probably gonna be her
