Posted September 30, 200816 yr What a fantastic dance song from the 80s pop queen, Cyndi Lauper! I'm in love with this song, one of the best dance records of this year yet it wasn't really noticed, promoted and ended up as a download only flop. :( Why wasn't it promoted properly? Was the video too gay for the public? Thoughts? (I know there is a thread about her somewhere in the pop or specialist section...)
September 30, 200816 yr The video is so terrible and cringeworthy, it really lets the rest of an excellent package down. Brilliant song from a really strong album. ^_^
September 30, 200816 yr I agree with Jark the video isnt very good at all but the song itself deserved to do so much better.
September 30, 200816 yr It's a really brilliant song, it had classic potential and could have fulfilled that if it was sung by a higher profile name. This is blatantly the reason it went nowhere though, she's been a has been for about 15 years. The video I agree on, very cheap and it almost feels like watching your mother dancing in a night club. :(
September 30, 200816 yr Author I can't stop listening to the song. I agree though on the video. Cyndi Lauper moves sometimes a bit strange
October 2, 200816 yr I think it's easily one of the singles of 2008 - and the album's phenomenal, too - who'd have thought it from Cyndi Lauper of all people? The video's ok - she's always been a tad embarrassing in her videos..... maybe it'd have been better without her in it?
October 4, 200816 yr It's a sad state of affairs, really. Radio 1 won't play it because she's over the age of 23. This blinkered view wouldn't happen in the 80s I tell ya! Nice track. Edited October 4, 200816 yr by ScottyEm
October 12, 200816 yr One of my favourite songs of the year, wish it had been promoted - good enough to have achieved a really high chart position
October 12, 200816 yr Anyone catch her on Graham Norton? Drunk-auntie-making-tit-of-herself alert! She wasn't graceful on stage, let me tell you! Edited October 12, 200816 yr by ScottyEm
October 14, 200816 yr I agree with Russ, it's one of the best tracks of 2008, the album is excellent. It's a shame it wasn't promoted, it was a shame it was download only too (not that would have done much good these days), it was bound to fail though as only the big acts do well on downloads alone. I do wish radio stations would promote more artists instead of ones that are 'In'. I think she is looking good for her age though, she doesn't look 55.
October 15, 200816 yr If there was any justic in the world, this song would do for Cyndi what Believe did for Cher.
October 15, 200816 yr Author If there was any justic in the world, this song would do for Cyndi what Believe did for Cher. Oh I fully agree. Shame it had no promo, nothing :(
