well......the remnants from the rock n roll era were still around, single blokes crooning, ballads etc. some interesting new sounds emerging through like a breath of fresh air... it must have been very exciting times!

1 Herman's Hermits - I'm Into Something Good ............ pretty lame tbh, ok pop

2 Roy Orbison - Oh Pretty Woman .............................. a sixties standard

3 The Four Seasons - Rag Doll ................................... possibly their best track imho

4 The Supremes - Where Did Our Love Go ................:thumbup: their best? superb track.

5 The Bachelors - I Wouldn't Trade You For The World ..... grrr bloody 'mums'..

9 The Honeycombs - Have I The Right? .....................:thumbup: stonking good pop song!!!

10 Marianne Faithfull - As Tears Go By .....................:thumbup: great stones cover

was having a Wes Anderson double bill the other day and love how the kinks tracks were used in The Darjeeling Limited...just bought a lot of Kinks re-issues this week - will have to see if those songs are on the album i've bought...hoping that some Marianne Faithfull stuff turns up in the sale as well - think i might like that..have been reading her story in one of the monthly magazines...yeah intersting life story
