Yo.

Okay, so we're a few weeks in to the build up of the release of 'Heavy Rotation', I could use the word anticipated, but I won't,- for obv reasons.

So what IS going wrong? 3/4 weeks in of ICFY and it's nowhere to be seen on the iTunes Top 100, or impacting any air/videoplay chart. She's appeared nude in a hot tub in her latest video, whilst a new change of direction in music working with producers like Darkchild, who has worked with artists like the Pussycat Dolls and Snoop Dogg. Not to also forget that performance of ICFY (no, she wasn't ill or drunk). + also her decision to get surgery on her face done. So, discuss!...

there's no promo...especially over here...the only time she's gonna be over here is the day AFTER the album release cause that's what they're concentrating on the most...we have to do everything ourselves by keep voting to make her number on music channels etc
no promo, she needs to come here and promote the blooming single and album or it'll be flopsville for her
i don't think the album will flop...it's just the single
well maybe but if she wont promote then it wont do well
she's gonna promote the album tho...that's what they're concentrating on the most..not the single

LOA was kicking of well without promo. Sick and Tired kicked of even better, (bigger airplay) and that received even less promo. Heck even the GH managed to sell just under half a million copies in the UK without receiving any airplay/videoplay for POAD.
well LOA was a killer comeback single!!

last monday was the 1st time she performed ICFY. she should have done more performances right after the single was released.

most of the promo was in germany so far and that is a big mistake. what about the UK, Holland, France etc. ??

I really hope things will turn around for this single but I doubt it.

Hopefully the album will have a better promo schedule.

I hope the album has loadsa promo over here...I'm sure she will...I wanna see her on GMTV (which she is) This Morning, Paul O'Grady etc all the great shows...and she should also perform lil mixes of her songs too

whenever acts i love go on gmtv its always after i leave for school :(

i want her on Paul :w00t: she was fab last time

MANY reasons.

1) Lack of promotion; apart from the odd play of I Can Feel You on the odd radio station here and there, there is bugger all publicity for the album at all. I wouldn't even have known she had an album coming out had I not been a member of Buzzjack.

2) I Can Feel You. It bears repeating; this is easily the weakest track she has ever recorded. A complete lack of chorus, completely mundane, forgettable lyrics, and an unmemorable backing track. The whole thing is just awful and sounds very dated. It's barely album track standard, let alone a comeback single after a 4 year absence. The only way you can get away with such a long absence in the pop world is either to be a tabloid darling or have a killer of a single. Anastacia has not done either.

3) Her credibility has been shot to pieces with dismal live performances, and the revelation that she'd been hiding her true age as if she was ashamed of it.

4) Her current style. The Tina Turner-esque "sprock" suited Anastacia down to the ground. Her unique selling point has always been her massive voice, and the 80s style dramatic rock was a perfect match for it.

Now she's trying to "update" herself by working with more contemporary producers, but this is missing the point of her entire appeal. Anastacia is popular because she IS camp, overblown, unfashionable, and a throwback to the 1980s.

Trying to get in with American RnB crowd is going to alienate her current fans. At the same time, she's not the sort of artist that the American RnB audience are ever going to take seriously. She's trapped herself in no-mans-land.

I disagree...she wasn't ashamed of it...if she didn't lie about her age then she probs would've never got a record deal in the first place cause it was MTV and her record label what told her to lie...and second she couldn't do another "Anastacia" album after 4 years it would work...the music industry has change A LOT in 4 years and she still does all the high notes in her songs...some of them are just a different style!!

you have no proof that she wasn't ill or drunk

there's a lot of factors to think about

she performned at midnight

the sound sucked.

she didn't perform in front of an audience for a year, and not properly performing since 2006..

this is her first time of this song

when your tired it is hard to control your voice, she did seem it.
