Adam & the Ants - Stand and Deliver [ 3 ] [21.43%]

The Specials - Ghost Town [ 11 ] [78.57%]

So Adam's reign is over as Ghost Town trounces Stand and Deliver. Next is Underworld's 1996 big beat anthem.

The Champion - The Specials

The Challenger - Underworld

Underworld's most uninspired moment... now if it'd have been Dark and Long...... a different matter. The Specials hands down.

The Specials.

Can the Sundays be put next with the original classic Here's Where The Story Ends and not that generic hit cover? ^_^

TBH anything from DubnoBass... is better than Born Slippy but I thought that was their best known track.

well i guess it depends if you live in Australia or not   ....

Underworld - Underneath The Radar

btw my fave records by those squigidly monikered doot doot men (to give them their full name  )

Underworld - Two Months Off

Underworld - Push Upstairs

If the specials win next think it should be against My Lovely Horse next

well at least The Divine Comedy - Songs Of Love then!!!!

Why does every post you make have to contain multiple youtube links?
if The Specials win again... I'd like to see them up against maybe one of Terry Hall's other bands..... Fun Boy Three released some fabulous singles (as did Colourfield...and his solo stuff)... or maybe another 2-Tone act? The Selecter, The Beat...?

was watching some old chansons this morning - including Charles Aznavour's She...and then brought up the Vegas version of She..much better than Elvis Costello's reading which should be avoided at all cost...and even tho the Vegas video is ruined by the introduction of Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics...it a good video and one which you could shed a tear to if you were feeling emotional...

Terry Hall - She promo (Vegas)

however could put the specials up against some moaning Annie Lennox touture...as some people seem to like her output...maybe even No More I Love You's :puke2:

I voted for The Specials (again),

I guess either The GoGos or Fun Boy Three's version of the Jane Wiedlin/Terry Hall classic massacred recently by Hilary & Haylie Duff would be the best bet to be a challenger.

After all it would be The Same Difference

Like this pop classic that somehow failed to reach the UK Top 75.

Terry, Blair & Anouchka - Ultra Modern Nursery Rhyme

... That has been performed live at Butlins by a certain brother/sister duo from a certain ITV talent show who release their forthcoming Stock Aitken & Waterman produced debut album (no tracklisting yet so hopefully it wont be on it) in November.

Born Slippy meant quite a lot to people in 1995 but, by the end, of 1996 it had been taken over by the lager louts...ironic, since it wasn't championing drunken boistrousness...quite the opposite.

Still, it's the best song named after a greyhound ever...and, yes, I do realise 'Pearl's Girl' was also a fast doggy!

Oh, but if you think it's better than 'Ghost Town' then you're having a laugh!

I had Terry Hall's Terry Blair and Anoushka album - prettyy damn brilliant it was.

well at least thats a.... Break From The Old Routine

how about next time the specials get put up against Oui 3's version of For What It's Worth...in the battle as i guess whenever it came out the rhymes of Oui 3 were ultra modern...tho obv not as good as Public Enemy

Oui 3 - For What It's Worth

Public Enemy - He got game

then again we good have something like...

You Showed Me - Turtles

or the specials against something like Care - Flaming Sword as sense is probs one of the best terry hall songs ever...or the specials against milli vanilli as they were a couple of ventriloquist dummies   ....then again we could have....

Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth

Elenore by The Turtles

that would be good!!!
