when is the uk release?

Like this would actually even do slightly well here. Hurr'no.

She might as well move into porn or license her name to a range of cakes 'coz musically she's past it.

It's released in the UK on January 19th, with the album released the next week. :cheer:

Yes, she's so musically past-it that the other new song on her GH is the best of her career. :o

Oh no no no no no no. With Love or Play With Fiyah

Btw, she is now under the Universal Label. New album expected late 09. Holiday could have a release next year Jan/Feb.

Depeche Mode must be living rather comfortably off their 'Personal Jesus' royalty cheques. Having been covered by Marilyn Manson, featured on the Grand Theft Auto video game and sampled by Jamelia, the song's become something of a modern day classic. Then along comes good old Hillary Duff.

The fact that Duff replaces the original lyric "reach out and touch faith" with "reach out and touch me" pretty much says it all. Originally written about Elvis's love for his wife Priscilla, the Lizzie McGuire star sacrilegiously turns this into an innuendo-laden squelch-fest. Accompanied by a video that sees Duff humping a marble statue, a tree trunk and the camera, 'Reach Out' has an unpleasant whiff of desperation about it.

LOL oh god. When's the iTunes release? Today or with the CD next week? Is Reach Out getting video play? :heehee:
I havent seen the video anywhere, i think its gonna be download only. Hollywood are tight enough as it is but dont take my word for it.
It still has it's getting a physical release on the release schedule, but I think it might be a download only since it's not avaliable to pre-order on HMV. But the album is.
^Same ive seen it about twice at the most.

This is surprisingly good!

Love the video too...but when did she get so hot?! :o

I don't think shes as bad as people make out.

'Coming Clean' was a great pop song along with most of the 'Dignity' album.

If 'Dignity' had been released by a more credible artist it would of been massive.

The same goes for albums like Come And Get It and State Of Mind by similar pedigree artists though...

In all 3 of those cases I don't think at was down to the artist as such, more a combination of poor promotion/marketing as well as electropop not being flavour of the month when they released...

Hilary suffered from underwhelming promo/tv performances etc in the US at a time when she really needed it because that sort of pop was not in fashion, whereas it's sort of coming into fashion now. On top of that she, in my opinion, saved the stronger of the Dignity singles (Stranger) for second (official) single whereas it should've lead, and on top of that, she saved the song with the most potential (Happy) as an album track. Her career is plagued with mistakes and most of them are down to her disasterous now-former label Hollywood who are truly useless. If Dignity had been preceeded by Play With Fire, lead by Stranger and followed-up by Happy, as well as given a couple more big TV gigs, she could've easily sold double what she did. They did get the cover art very right though!

As for Holly, I honestly think State Of Mind was just ahead of its time, which is unfortunate. It's a stormer of a song but it came out at a time when a lot of mainstream pop was very tame and it was a lot more furious than the likes of (the awfully overrated) Kiss Kiss. Radio may have been put off and again promotion was somewhat lacking which especially reflected in the album's chart position (top 70!). That said Holly's album wasn't up to an awful lot, though I know a lot of internet loons do love it and some (have the audacity to) compare it with C&GI! Desire is a great song however.

And finally Come & Get It was handled really badly. Negotiate With Love is her best single (and best song) and so that was a perfect single. However So Good was the most radio-friendly and had the most potential to sell albums so the album really should've been released after that, with I Said Never Again following up as a supporting single a few months later. ISNA wasn't such a strong single for launching an album (or for selling itself, missing the top 10).

If only I had been in charge  *Imagines the platinum discs hanging on my wall*
