October 12, 200816 yr Author That Coldcut track with Lisa Stansfield (People Hold On) was great. A shame she resorted to blandarama soul/pop poop as a choice of career. More recently, their track with Robert Owens (Walk A Mile In My Shoes) is gorgeous.

October 14, 200816 yr I don't have time for the videos so look them up - 1987 My Top 12 - One track per artist: (Based on Singles only otherwise The Smiths - Stop Me ....; Prince - The Cross; Pet Shop Boys - Kings Cross would have been included): 1. Pogues with Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York - Quite simply the best Christmas song ever mainly due to Kirsty MacColl's vocal performance perfectly matching the colourful lyrics 2. U2 - With Or Without You - The track that told you that The Joshua Tree was going to be something very special. 3. Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over - Former Split Enz Neil Finn's new band came out with a melancholic song that Lennon & McCartney would have been proud of. 4. Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again - A track so dark & brooding it was truly ahead of its time. They had to wait to 1990 for the public to catch up. 5. New Order - True Faith - The excellent new single taken from their excellent Substance singles collection. 6. The Smiths - Sheila Take A Bow - David Bowie Kooks lyric steal aside, a truly memorable single from a band who where no more before the end of the year. 7. Pet Shop Boys ft Dusty Springfield - What Have I Done To Deserve This - A truly fantastic duet bring Britain's greatest ever female singer into the public attention. 8. Alison Moyet - Love Letters - Surely the definitive version by one of Britain's 3 greatest ever female singers that blows Elvis Presley's version out of the water. A greater French & Saunders video too. 9. Black - Wonderful Life - A sublime Scott Walker velvet vocal from Colin Vearcombe, strange how this track is still remembered when the fellow Top 10 hit The Sweetest Smile has long been forgotten. 10. Prince - Sign O' The Times - The title track of Prince's best ever album, a stark track that Marvin Gaye & Sly Stone would have been proud of. 11. Sisters Of Mercy - This Corrosion - A gothic classic that still sounds great today. 12. Scarlet Fantastic - No Memory - A one hit wonder, but what a great track begging to be revived.

October 14, 200816 yr 12. Scarlet Fantastic - No Memory - A one hit wonder, but what a great track begging to be revived. agreed, great track. It was revived last year and made the club charts, but it failed to chart anywhere else. Made No.1 in my chart though
October 18, 200816 yr That Coldcut track with Lisa Stansfield (People Hold On) was great. A shame she resorted to blandarama soul/pop poop as a choice of career. More recently, their track with Robert Owens (Walk A Mile In My Shoes) is gorgeous. the album has also got this on the bonus cd - Coldcut - Stop This Crazy Thing...which is a really good track as well...
