October 16, 200816 yr Again singles only - 1 track per artist: 1985 My Top 12 9. The Smiths - How Soon Is Now - Johnny Marr's ultra distorted musical rewrite of Mona and a truly visceral Mozz lyric. I still think the TATU cover was awful. Don't care much for The Smiths, but I do like this one!

October 17, 200816 yr #1 when my daughter (first born) was born... soppy git! lol Ha, fair do's. Plus it's not quite as horrific as Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl", which was sitting comfortably at number one when I was born!
October 18, 200816 yr 11. Prefab Sprout - Faron Young - Paddy McAloon was a critics darling, who's music was sadly too intelligent for public consumption. so too intelligent for public consumption - so that the reason for such a dub song as that hot dog jumping frog rubbish  a worse decline from LIMOGES than if an album came out next week called 'Wild Beasts sing the hits of Abba'
October 20, 200816 yr My all-time favourite song which holds a lot of special memories to me was released in 1985. It may be seen as a bit corny but it's "The power of love" by Jennifer Rush. Other songs from 1985 I like are: "Maria Magdalena" by Sandra "I wanna know what love is" by Foreigner "Get into the groove" by Madonna "Nikita" by Elton John "I know him so well" by Paige and Dickson "Heaven" by Brian Adams "Private Dancer" by Tina Turner "You Give Good Love" by Whitney Houston "Love is a Battlfield" by Pat Benetar
