She is talentless. She can't sing to save her life and she puts decent female singers like Tori Amos and Sarah McClachlan to shame. They are the ones that sing not Sandi Thom.

She should change her lyrics to "I wish I was a prawn cracker" because that's what she looks like  She makes me wanna :puke2:

:yahoo: Somebody actually hates her as well as me!!!! I thought I was the only one. I don't know why she's at number 1. I think it's people haven't got anything to spend their money so they go out to buy this trash.

I can't remember what he said, but Chris Moyles totally made some really funny remarks about her saying how c**p she was. But harsher than that.

She irritates the fukk out of me too....

I said it on a different thread, but I'll say it again - she's this year's Lisa Loeb, Meredith Brooks, Allannah Myles....add your own really - one or two hit wonders who did one or two albums then sank without trace...

As a GothicIndustrialPunkMetaller, I find her song incredibly annoying fake hippy sh!te.....

TORI AIMLESS?!?!?!? Whaaat?

If I want to listen to a Kate Bush karaoke act.... it wouldn't be Tori.

Why listen to Tori Aimless when the woman she based her entire career on, with meticulous detail, has just released the album of her career?

Whoever Sandi Thom 4eva is, you are entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion you are talking the biggest load of SH1T I have read for sometime.

You are not a friend of Lily Allen are you?

Did you see her performance on Top Of The Pops?

Clearly not!!!

You may not like her singing or her record but to say that she cannot sing is a load of c**p.

As a couple of the newspapers today hinted as to the reason why there is a backlash against this talented musician & songwriter I will explain what has been said on certain internet sites which in the light of what has happened this week is clearly one hell of a coincidence.

I will explain the reason for the Sandi Thom backlash courtesy of Beatles/Paul McCartney forums. (It's a bit of a long story!)

You are aware of the Sandi Thom story, but you may not be aware that she attended LIPA (Liverpool's Institute of Performing Arts for three years). This is the institute that Paul McCartney helped fund which incidentally members of the Zutons, the Automatic, the Feeling & top 21st century US video director Liam Lynch attended as well as a few Hollyoaks actors etc.

Sandi Thom was a star pupil at LIPA (She was voted most likely to succeed when she graduated in 2003) & is well known amongst the Beatles / Paul McCartney fanbase because she attended the annual Liverpool Beatles conventions held every August Bank Holiday weekend.

Sandi is represented by the Quite Great PR agency - their clients include Paul McCartney, Bob Geldof, Mariah Carey, Cliff Richard, Cilla Black, Paul O'Grady, Stevie Wonder, Terry Wogan, Simply Red, and a few other DJ's Christian O'Connell, Johnny Vaughan & the late John Peel.

You are probably aware that Paul McCartney is divorcing Heather Mills-McCartney. Since their split Heather Mills has signed up with rival PR company (I can't find their name) but their clients are more edgier/indie types - Davina MacColl, Chris Moyles, Matt Lucas & David Walliams, Russell Brand, Avid Merrion, Keith Allen, Paul Kaye and an awful lot of Indie Bands/artists.

According to a few people in the Beatles forums - an up & coming new songwriter Lily Allen has had her album delayed by EMI (It was originally due for release in late May). Lily Allen is signed to the rival PR company which now has Heather Mills on their books. Heather Mills is a very good friend of Lily's dad Keith Allen & he is filming a fly on the wall documentary on Heather Mills (remember his fly on the wall documentary with Muhammed Al-Fayed telling why he strongly felt that MI6/Prince Philip were responsible for having Princess Di & his son assassinated because she was pregnant). They reckon that Paul McCartney (who has been signed all his life to EMI) is responsible for this delay which has enabled his fame school protegee Sandi to clean up in the charts. Never mind that EMI has spent time & effort promoting the new Pet Shop Boys album & Keane's second album is out next week.

So the rival PR company are placing negative publicity to attack Sandi Thom, not least because if they can sabotage her career via bad publicity - look at Chris Moyles awful attack on Sandi's single on his breakfast show on Monday, then it will make Paul McCartney settle for a higher divorce amount with Heather, while leaving the way clear for Lily Allen to take advantage.

Coincidentally Lily Allen's - ("The Saviour of Pop" according to PopJustice) website was attacked on Monday - but what do you expect if you call Bob Geldof a C**t (Paul McCartney is using Bob's divorce lawyer who successful won custody of his three children from his marriage with Paula Yates) & state that Mark Chapman killed the wrong Beatle!

While in the last two days there has been pieces in different papers attacking Heather Mills & in today's Mirror a story attacking Chris Moyles (Thank God he did not win Celebrity X-Factor, to be able to rush release his hideous World Cup song), so clearly the Great White PR agency are on the counter attack.

Well there you have it.. lol.. I dont like her music either, it's just not my thing...

Keep it clean, PLEASE!

I already had to delete some posts and edit a couple others.

Don't take it any further or I'll have to close this thread.

Thank you

I'm liking her a lot actually, her single is really fresh and different to anything else out there. I've heard a couple of tracks from her album and liked them, so I may check it out...

I thought he was disgusting when he did that, she's the UK's no1 single and he totally ripped into her, he's turned into a right slobby arrogant bully (well more so recently) and I was also chuffed he didn't win celeb x-factor as well, I don't like Sandi Thom's song but she's a damn good singer.

Wow thisispop that really confused me

Sandi Thom I have no problem with - she isnt exactly my favourite artists yesterday I find the album dull and I don't want her to keep #1 cos Nelly should get it but I don't hate her. Although I do agree that she will be a one hit wonder singles wise and possibly album too

Interesting post TIP... ;) Sandi can definitely sing (very well infact) but I have to say I'm finding 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' VERY irritating and of course considering the lyrics she's very ill informed about some things (I know she's comparing a Punk Rocker to a Hippy with the 'Flowers In My Hair' bit ;) ) but what is she going on about when she says 'the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail' they had telephones back then  and 'when music really mattered' as another example.

I agree the lyrics sound like they were written off the cusp as rhyming couplets with the intent of going back to them and fixing them, except she never got round to fixing them.

However if you were dissect most songs lyrics, then they would fall to pieces to a greater or lesser degree.

Which gives me a great idea for a new thread! :P :D

Lets face it this song is a aimed at all those people who go on about how bad the world is these days, and how much better things where in the 'old days'!

Yes I'm SURE it was better -_- And if 100,000 people REALLY viewed her webcasts then why aren't they all buying her album then like all of us who had the Arctic Monkeys demos?

Well, to be completely honest you are going to have that with anything, in any era. No matter what it is about, or when it was written. in a wider context, that's not a reason to dislike the song or her.

I don't quite understand whether you like the song, but are annoyed at people moaning about the "old days" or or just don't like the song full stop, though. But that's no matter.

Anyhooo, I wasn't going to get too much involved with this debate but I have to point somethings out.

I am willing to accept that maybe she is talented, has TECHNICALLY a good voice (although somewhat irritating), and was taught by a Beatle.

Doesn't mean she is going to appeal to everyone. But again, that's not to say she's rubbish.

Personally, I just don't like the song. It has no good lyrical content in it, the tune is irritating, and her voice grates on me, but I understand people may think she has technical ability.
