June 15, 200619 yr It's like the friendlies. We only ever play poor countries. However Alias did inform me the other day we played Argentina last November and won 3-2 ^_^ but apart from that we only ever seem to play the likes of Hungary and Jamaica. -_- No one plays good teams in friendlies. And we played Argentina not long ago. Edited June 15, 200619 yr by RabbitFurCoat
June 15, 200619 yr Author Atleast you get time to see the BBCs analysis instead of advert after advert after advert :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: I agree with that, BBC1 is far better, and I be watching the final on BBC
June 15, 200619 yr Forget Rooney Aaron Lennon is the future of English football :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: And he is a yidooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
June 15, 200619 yr England are through, which is the main thing. But Sven has to play Owen and Rooney together and see the rewards.
June 15, 200619 yr England aren't really playing TOO bad. Trinidad are just FAR too good at the back. England thrive on the long balls through for Crouch and Owen but at the moment, T&T are defending too well which means England are relying on Joe Cole, Gerrard and Lampard for goals. This was pretty much all of the second half as well. Rooney just managed to get the connectivity between the attacking players going a bit better and we got a few lucky breaks with Crouch and Gerrard. On the whole we played FAR better today than we did against Paraguay. I am pleased with this result.
June 15, 200619 yr No one plays good teams in friendlies. And we played Argentina not long ago. No one plays good teams? Then who do the good teams play?
June 15, 200619 yr Author Half time Sweden 0 Paraguay 0, if it remains stalemate at 0-0 at full time, mathematically, England have won the group, I think  Win, lose or draw, against Sweden in the next game, does not seem that relevant for them, they can give other players a chance to play, to be honest, don't need Owen, or Rooney on the pitch.
June 15, 200619 yr If this match remains a draw & then Ecuador v Germany is a draw it will mean that we play Germany in the last 16. :o Because Ecuador would win Group A & Germany would be runners-up.
June 15, 200619 yr No one plays good teams? Then who do the good teams play? You know what I meant. You never, or VERY rarely see two top teams play in a friendly. It just doesn't happen. It is NOT just England!!
June 16, 200619 yr i mean with ten men behind the ball defending for most of the game. what do u expect? england are bound to look poor as they can only work down the flanks. as moving through the middle would be impossible due to all the T&T players holding deep. and the problem was our flanks were poor for the 60mins or so untill lennon and downing came on
June 16, 200619 yr Well once more it looks like England's group is the most boring with the least amount of goals so far  ,their only hope is group G might be worse, but I doubt it. This is not the first time the goals scored in England's groups have been minimal.
June 20, 200619 yr BJ WC Predictions: Sweden v England 2-1 Ozzy 2-2 David 1-1 Mikey, Gw, Cassidy, Alias, b91, RFC, t t, Ba 06, e-mo 1-2 tip, Rooney, A70 Paraguay v Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 David 3-1 RFC 2-0 tip, t t, e-mo 2-1 Mikey, Gw, b91, Ozzy, A70 1-0 Cassidy 2-2 Rooney 0-0 Ba 06 0-1 Alias
June 20, 200619 yr The last time England beat Sweden was in 1968! :o And we've lost against them ELEVEN times since! Not looking good is it?
June 20, 200619 yr Another bad omen - it is the same ref we had when England lost against Northern Ireland. But I hope to be proved wrong.
June 20, 200619 yr Author Owen landed on his leg very badly, Owen has twisted his knee according to the commentators.
June 20, 200619 yr Looks like Owen is out for the rest of the tournament then :( . Lets hope so, as if Crouch gets another yeallow card we could be stuffed.
