Time Bomb Time

Top 15 at a push. Heavily reliant on a dying market with some absolutely huge sales and comebacks around at the moment. Not to mention the annoying invasion of various Christmas songs everyone downloaded last year, deleted on New Years day and are needed again this year.
It couldn't get any closer to sounding like a Lennon/McCartney/Harrison track really could it? but it's a good song and I like it. :)

You gotta learn from the best and the beatles are the best ;)

More so it's definitely got that Lennon vibe to it... hell even at the end of the song it has John lennon talking ;)

but anyway people will think i'm biased but really this song is easily one of the best ballads of the year.. and if it was done by another band people would be screaming in joy  .. but since it's Oasis people tend to be more critical .

Really? I find the opposite- we're all constantly told how talented and legendary they are that like the Beatles it's now impossible to say they're not very good, as people (without even hearing much of their music nowadays) just believe they are good because they've been told this by eveyone else. Personally i like Oasis, but i don't like the Beatles!

:o Heresy! :P

But each to their own... :D

I like most of what Oasis have done, but this latest track hasn't really caught my attention...at least not so far...could be a grower. I'd expect it only to peak at around #9 or 10.

Do you mean rock in general, or just Britpop/Indie? I would agree with the latter, as all the 'big' Indie releases this year have failed to chart as well as expected (excluding Kings Of Leon and soon The Killers), but on the other hand, albums which some people - including on this forum - didn't give a chance, such as Metallica and AC/DC, have charted very well.

Personally I quite like Oasis, but I consider them one of the very few good indie bands around. Having said that, they're not really indie anyway - just straight-up rock n' roll. Loving this song, hope it does well. Might pick up the album after hearing it - does it measure up to their classic albums?

most fans are saying it's their best work since then... it's an interesting album.. a few heavy tunes, and a few tunes that don't really sound like oasis... I personally think it is a very good album and far better album than their last one (don't believe the truth)

I mean 'fanbase' acts really, they tend to be acts who've been around while and generally rely on physicals. The songs always sell well within their core fanbase but lack appeal to the general public. The majority of their sales are in the first week and they then tumble down the charts. Oasis, Paul Weller, Westlife, McFly...

(before I'm jumped on, no I'm NOT comparing the music of Oasis to the music of Westlife... -_-)

Interesting! I thought from the singles DBTT sounded better than anything they'd done in years, but after Shock of the Lightning i thought this album may be a case of back to basics. Songs that don't sound like Oasis though? Could this be growth? Quite excited by the sound of that. They could do with trying some new stuff and attracting some new fans hopefully.

"heavily reliant on a dying market" i took to mean the physical single market, as support for it has obviously been pulled and interest low, and Oasis are known to be still one of the biggest physical sellers around. Still think they can make top10 and hopefully top5 depending on the competition that week (not sure what but Xmas lead-up weeks are often busy)

ARGH! The b-sides to this are gonna only be bloody remixes! :( Don't think this'll do so well now considering they put the Chemical Brothers remix of Falling Down on TSOTL which I think stopped it from getting to #1 personally.

01 Pink 53,264

02 Kings Of Leon 37,603

03 Oasis 32,119

They'd never have sold an additional 21000 physicals.
