Posted November 11, 200816 yr I'm sure most people have seen the absolutely disgusting BLATANT elbow on Iain Hume at the weekend, which left the guy with a fractured skull (and he's lucky to be alive). If that didn't warrant a red card and a ban from football from the FA, then I don't know what does anymore. This whole Respect campaign has been utter bollocks so far if you ask me. First things first, the whole handshakes between the two teams at the beginning of the game is just as fake as anything imo and it serves no purpose and just ruins all the atmosphere in the ground. And how do we expect players and fans to referee when they make so many mistakes? I know they're only human so they're bound to make mistakes, but they make SO many. Not only that but lots of high profile ones too, Rob Styles has cocked up a lot this season already, then there's been the Iain Hume incident and the 'phantom goal'. The worst part of it all too, is the refereeing just gets worse and worse down the leagues... i'm sure if there was as many TV camera and spectaters in League 1, League 2, Blue Square Premier etc. it would just highlight how bad the officalling is in games, as it really is atrocious on all levels.
November 12, 200816 yr I know what you mean! The thing that annoys me is the fact that they're not allowed to criticise referees WHEN THEY BLATANTLY MAKE WRONG DECISIONS  Managers are human and if they feel something is wrong then they should have a right to say that the decision shouldn't have stood! I would back the 'respect campaign' if there was more to bloody respect and our managers flippin' robots who don't have emotions and don't get angry when wrong decisions cost them valuable points that keep them in their jobs but that's not the case so I completely agree with you Josh. -_-
November 12, 200816 yr Agreed. Respect has to be earned, and I find it hard to take any refs in the prem seriously because they're all so bloody inconsistent That new referee - Attwell I think his name is - is absolutely atrocious. Giving teams phantom goals and then he turned the Derby - Nottingham Forest game into a farce. The best of it is, after all of that he's actually being rewarded and is or has been on premier league duties as a 4th official. God help any team unlucky enough to get him (3/1 odds that it's Sunderland) when he inevitably becomes a premier league regular
November 12, 200816 yr I think referees would be respected if, after they made a mistake, they held their hands up and admit it. Soooo many of them don't. And to think that managers get punished if they say something about a decision that could ultimately cost them their job.
February 2, 200916 yr Author I just thought i'd bump this up again. Can the FA just stop this campaign now? I'd find it hard as a player to respect the officals when they're fucking useless.
February 2, 200916 yr Indeed, answers on a post card how Chelsea's Bosingwa stayed on the pitch for this: 1Gh7DEGejf8
February 2, 200916 yr Author class tackle i'd be happy with such Anyone who thinks that is an absolute thug. If the tables were turned on Boswinga and it was Benayoun i'd think exactly the same. It's fucking ABH.
February 3, 200916 yr Since this thread is about Respect on the football field what the Liverpooll player was doing was showing Chelsea and indeed all of football a massive lack of respect. He was showing the game a lack of respect. I am glad Boswinga did it, covering the ball by the line and not allowing play is a cheap dirty tactic and I am glad Bosingwa had the balls to do something about it.
February 3, 200916 yr And on the subject of Respect the FA/Premier League have spat in the face of every club outside of the "Big 4" by showing disgusting gooner bias over the transfer of Arshavin The FA extended the deadline for deals that had been AGREED and players held up by bad weather for medicals or transfer negotiations, where was Arshavin ? he was in a fukkin London hotel and had been for a couple of days and was not srtranded at an sirport in the snow, had the fee been agreed by 5pm ? NO yet the rules get bent for Scum to give them an extra 24 hrs to complete negotiations for Arshavin, FUKKIN PISSTAKE Had that been us or any team outside the Top 4 we would have been told to f*** off by the Premier League Aah well hope those that made the decision choke on the proceeds of the brown paper envelopes stuffed with £50 notes they were given by Wenger c**ts

I fail to see how it was cheating? The amount of hypocrisy that's about these days is unreal. EVERY team time waste, all the way from Man Utd to Blyth Spartans. Fucking hell Cech was doing it TWENTY minutes before the final whistle, and Tim Howard was doing it the other week in the FA Cup. Running the ball into the corner is a tactic. So what is Boswinga was frustrated? There's no need to go and stud him in the back. It woudn't be acceptbale out in the street, so there's no way it's acceptable on the football pitch.
February 3, 200916 yr Hmmm funny how no one moaned about Benjani's transfer to Man City going on for FIVE DAYS after the transfer window shut. Everything has been signed and agreed and apparently it's a thing of checking everything is in order so I don't see the problem tbh.

I agree, I think Bosingwa should have been charged for that and I think that Lampard's red card should be recinded as he got the ball. Chelsea fans still can't moan though as getting sent off was the first thing he'd actually done in the entire game.

He went in with his studs, but he got to the ball before Alonso. I can't help but feel that his interview in the Mail saying that there's tension between him and Alonso caused him to be sent off though. But how Boswinga was not sent off in the first place i'll never know. And why the FA failed to act afterwards i'll never know.

The FA have no power to reverse a referees decision where no card is issued or an incident is not included in the referee's report, since he took no action against Bosawinga the FA have no power to

February 3, 200916 yr Author The FA have no power to reverse a referees decision where no card is issued or an incident is not included in the referee's report, since he took no action against Bosawinga the FA have no power to If a player is not yellow carded then they can act. It's only if they're not yellow carded that they can't take further action (which is a stupid rule in itself). If that incident wasn't in Riley's refereeing report than quite frankly he wants sacking. Complete liability and joke if players can get away with that. I mean it happened right in front of the linesman.

If I was to do that to someone in Preston City Centre, I would be quite rightly arrested. So how did he manage to get away with it?
