its looking like they are but i will console myself by saying they are mainly an albums band and the album is doing reasonably well
Yeah. The album is not anything like Eyes Open or Final Straw though which were massive sellers. AHMS didn't even make the top 20 year end albums, although it was only released in late in the year. You'd expect it to make it already. If they resort to a 4th single, which is looking unlikely, the album could end 09 in the top 20, which is still not up to their standard but anyway..

the album is elling steady although i expected so so much more

crack the shutters is tsill top 75 this week on week 4 it falls 5 places to number 58

It should really start climbing back up again, thank god. Now re-entering the iTunes top 40 and with some climbing in iTunes this week; it could enter the singles top 40 on sunday or turn into Chasing Cars

A mini update on CTS for the week so far. :ø

On iTunes this week it has been at the bottom end of the top 40, which is great, after the track's long absence from it. It has been glued at #38 for the whole of Tuesday and Wednesday untill an update tonight where its now hovering between 40 and 50, which is horrific for the song as it looked like it was going climb a bit more. But we will still have to wait and see, im not quite sure if we can says its flopped just yet as it seems to have quite a staying power; like I predicted in my CC/CTS comparison.

^ Which is terrible, they should be huge in their home country.. Nelly Furtado had a #1 with all except one single in Canada, her home country.

An update - CTS re-entered the iTunes chart on Thursday and has re-peaked today at #37. So I wouldnt be suprised if it does make the top 40 this week since its downloads sold really consistantly this whole week :o

I'm actually shocked at by how little it climbed. If it could just move up a few spots into the iTunes top 30 and stay there the whole week it would be almost guaranteed a top 40 spot on sunday.
its sales are prob quite respectable as x mas singles sales were very high i bet its has sold near 20,000 already,,ha dit been released say this week for example it would be a top 20 hit on the sales it had for its previous sales paek week
I agree.. Oh well theres still hope for 'If There Was A Rocket' to be the third single and make the top ten.. Which could easily happen, 'Signal Fire' was I think the 4th or 5th single from Eyes Open and it scored the guy's highest single peak of #4 plus there is not much major releases to happen yet that could get in its way of becoming success.. Although CTS is still in the iTunes top 40 I doubt it could do any better than what it is now, seeing the album slipped to top 30 in todays midweeks :snif:
crack the shutters climbed this week and is now number 50 id just love it to make top 40 and id love to know its sales now also
I think the climbing will pretty much stop now, the small climbs over the weeks were only cause of it constantly being in the lower end of the iTunes top 40 and now it's slipped down to the top 60, the sales are probably also really average.
single sales are high enough at the moment but album sales are terrible,as i said before i just so wanted carck the shutters to make the top 40 its a brilliant song and personnally i think its far better than take back this city
TBTC has a more alternative audience where CTS is styled as 'power pop' and the majority of Snow Patrol fans are probably not into the whole power pop thing. That could be the song's downfall? Even the song being popish should be to its benefit but there is just so much pop singles out there at the moment - obviously not working in favour of the song's success.
