Posted December 5, 200816 yr Pete Doherty is to replace Pete Townshend in The Who for a one-off gig next January. The Babyshambles frontman will team up with The Who's singer Roger Daltrey for the gig, which takes place at Bristol Academy on January 12. Daltrey originally met Doherty in July at the funeral of Daniel Squires, a 16-year-old cancer sufferer who had struck up a friendship with the former Libertine. Doherty performed a song at Squires' wake, and Daltrey was so impressed with his voice that he insisted that the duo team up for the gig. The gig will be in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Tickets for the gig are on sale now. that would be amazing to see.
