This has to be the best song she's ever recorded. Such a pity this is the only song you don't see on video channels and radio stations. This has to be the only single she's released that's underrated.

Yeah it is totally underated it's a great song should of been of the IMC!.
Madonna released so many singles in 1985 that at least one was bound to be forgotten! In her case it was 2 - Angel seems to be largely forgotten too. I never really cared much for Gambler, but I loved Angel.

I agree I really liked this song.

I always thought this song was much better than Dress You Up, Lucky Star & Angel that were released around the same period that you still see (the video) & hear occasionally.

I agree, i love the song too. A shame it's one that is rarely heard these days.

A lot of her younger fans probably don't even know it exists.

Yeah your probably right!.

It's never been released on a Madonna album!.

Gambler was, by far, Madonna's worst single - it stinks to high heaven. Just awful.
even the lady herself tried to brush this one under the carpet!

she sang it on her first tour (because she had little else to fill the set with).... and she never includes it on any 'Greatest Hits' compilations, never sings it live now....and it rarely appears on ANY Madonna retrospective shows. I'd say that was brushing this stinker under the carpet, wouldn't you?

I'm a Madonna fan myself, albeit a disgusted one at the moment with her ticket rip-off yet again, but surely - any TRUE fan of an artist can accept that,. at times, even their heroes can make bad choices?

This is up there with Love Profucion as her worst single, without a shadow.

Gambler was a limited released single & was the Vision Quest Soundtrack.

It would of been really hard for it make the The Immaculate Collection as it wasn't release in many places.man look at all the hits that missed The Immaculate Collection!.The IMC could of been a double album!.

As for performing live yeah your right she has performed it since 1985!. which kinda stinks.BUT on the last two tours we are seeing older hits on the shows like "Lucky Star","Live To Tell","Papa don't Preach","Vogue" hell even "Like A Virgin" so never say never.

Gambler was a limited released single & was the Vision Quest Soundtrack.

But Crazy for You was from At Close Range - and that made Immaculate Collection.

There were only a small handful of singles left off IC... Gambler was, rightly, one of them.

Crazy For You was a hugh success for Madonna it made no.1 in the US and other places. So surely that HAD to be on the IMC.

Gambler was only released in like 3 places as a single. In that case wouldn't have you left it off the imc?.

Crazy for You is a classic Madonna ballad - Gambler is part of her throwaway pop fluff era (like most of the Who's That Girl soundtrack, I reckon).

And Crazy for you, my mistake, was from Vision Quest, too.
