February 3, 200916 yr Omen sounds just great  In case some of you are Prodigy fans, inside the Feature Request forum there's a thread for The Prodigy forum on Buzzjack Later today I'll post all the videos and chart action of the group, but it depends on how much persons wish this forum section on Buzzjack. So it depends on your votes ^_^ xox.
February 4, 200916 yr Author - "Invaders Must Die" (the song) is great - I don't like too much "Omen" - I've posted a new youtube clip of IMD (see the first post)
February 8, 200916 yr This is the best Prodigy stuff I've heard since "...Jilted Generation".... serious return to form.... Yep, Liam's got his Mojo back after a pretty shocking previous album...... The Prodigy, the "Metallica" of the Dance/Electronic world........ As with Mets, I'd thought they'd lost it, but then they just bounce back out of the blue and seriously surprise me..... I'm hearing rumours that the Prod are headlining M'era Luna festival in Germany in August.... FUKK ME that would just kick arse.....
February 8, 200916 yr just listened, it was so mental in it's 320kps awesomeness it blew me to the other side of the room.
February 8, 200916 yr it was so mental in it's 320kps awesomeness it blew me to the other side of the room.  Funny, that's kinda how I felt...... It's even more mental than the pretty awesome "Aggrotek" of the new Combichrist album..... Which I also recommend to you Chris..... Is it a tad too early to start saying "album of the year".....? We've still got Depeche Mode to listen to...... But, I think it's pretty bloody clear that Liam and Co have chucked down a mighty gauntlet here..... Wonder who's gonna be "man" (or woman) enough to pick it up..... It's looking like a good year for the darker side of Dance/Techno/Electronic... Combichrist dropped a huge bomb with "Today We Are All Demons" (think The Prodigy, Nine Inch Nails and "Come To Daddy"-era Aphex Twin in a dark room kicking the sh!t out of each other, with spiked boots....), now The Prod have got their groove back, and the upcoming new :Wumpscut: album (a very, very DARK shade of Industrial Techno which would probably make Trent Reznor cry for his mummy  ) in April......

Im definatly checking out Combichrist after you described them as "The Prodigy, Nine Inch Nails and "Come To Daddy"-era Aphex Twin in a dark room kicking the sh!t out of each other, with spiked boots...." sounds right up my street. I wouldnt want to make Trent cry :( but yeah i'll check out :Wumpscut: aswell. Proper loving good electronic music at the momment.

I get the feeling you'll like this darker strand of Electronic..... It's all a tad confusing as to how to label it all correctly though.... Some call it simply EBM (electronic body music) as an umbrella term, but then you get TBM (Techno Body Music), then you get "Aggrotek" (which is stuff like CombiChrist, Hocico, Suicide Commando and Terrorfakt), then you get "Noise" (which is mostly pretty dreadful, but you occasionally get the likes of Whitehouse or Noisex who are okay....). A lot of Metalheads who would never usually listen to Dance/Techno stuff have gotten into the "aggrotek" bands, because it's the same sort of attitude as Metal.... And, of course The Prodigy are the band that can unite just about everyone.... Danceheads, Metallers and Indie kids..... a bit surprised that CC haven't made the breakthrough tbh, there's a lot of crossover potential there.... Maybe cos they're Norwegian...? And people just seem to switch off generally to anything that aint British or American.... CC do well in Europe though, particularly Germany and Scandinavia....
February 8, 200916 yr Just listened to this and it is a serious return to form. Now I do love Fat of the Land but they have done a Metallica and gone backwards in order to move forwards again.
February 8, 200916 yr Just listened to this and it is a serious return to form. Now I do love Fat of the Land but they have done a Metallica and gone backwards in order to move forwards again. I think the term you're looking for is "reboot...".... I think it's right that they've gone back to the original path they were going down... "Fat of the Land" and "Always Outnumbered..." were detours which ended up with them coming to a dead end... I always found about half of "Fat of the Land" was phenomenal, but the other half was a bit flat.... And "Always Outnumbered..." had about three tracks on it that I could listen to, the rest I found to be utter chaff......

February 8, 200916 yr I think the term you're looking for is "reboot...".... Doh! Just the term I was looking for!
February 8, 200916 yr Much better than that "Invaders Must Die". This isn't usually my sort of thing but it could well grow on me. I much prefer their ravey warehouse stuff from the early 90s, but then I would say that...
February 9, 200916 yr I much prefer their ravey warehouse stuff from the early 90s, but then I would say that... I like the "Experience" stuff as well, and my fave Prodigy album overall is "Music for the Jilted Generation".... But this is well cool... The way I see it, "Invaders Must Die" like a mix of that Ravey stuff and the harder, harsher Aggrotek sound coming out of places like Germany, Scandinavia and Belgium, acts like CombiChrist (who are heavily influenced by The Prodigy, right down to singer Andy's Keith Flint-style Mohawk and tats..), Suicide Commando and Tactical Sekt... "Omen" in particular is very much of the "Aggrotek" sound.... I would seriously love it if The Prodigy were to get a band like CombiChrist to support them on tour, it would be HUGE boost for CC in the UK, because it really sucks to have to see them play their pretty massive sound in such tiny venues as Islington Academy.... When you see them in Europe they play in venues with capacities of about 5000-8000, or festivals such as M'era Luna (to a 35-40,000 crowd....) Here's a few links for Chris, and for the rest of you if you want to know more about CombiChrist or download the new album (which I would recommend actually buying cos the torrent doesn't include the pretty amazing bonus disc of seriously head-fukkin' beats and grooves) "Today, We Are All Demons".... http://www.mininova.org/tor/2154298 http://www.combichrist.com/ CombiChrist UK tour dates in May.... 2009.05.27 London @ Islington Academy UK 2009.05.26 Wolverhampton @ The Robin UK 2009.05.25 Newcastle @ Independent UK 2009.05.24 Edinburgh @ Venue TBA UK 2009.05.23 Sheffield @ Corporation
February 9, 200916 yr The Prodigy are confirmed for M'era Luna festival in August...... :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: SHEEEITTTTT, sure am glad I pre-ordered my ticket...... http://www.fkpscorpio.com/meraluna/
February 10, 200916 yr just set combichrist to download, cheers Grim. The Prodigy have been annouced for Download this year (as well as Slipknot) but i cant afford it :( i want them to play Reading but im not sure if they will if they are playing Download. and you Grim i think should check out a mash-up that can be found here: http://www.totom.dj/index.php?2009/01/26/5...eggers-must-die it is a mash of 'Invaders Must Die and 'March of the Pigs' by NIN, it is rather good.
February 11, 200916 yr The album is insanely amazing! And for me it would not be too early to say "The album of the year". I wonder where Promo-album tracks such as Heatwave Hurricane, Dead Ken Beats etc have gone/will be featured or they are just fan-made? They are fantastic as well.
February 13, 200916 yr And for me it would not be too early to say "The album of the year". You might change your mind when you hear Depeche Mode's new one though..... "Invaders..." is one fukkin' top album though... I've been listening to it constantly on my N95 since Monday.... I used to listen to "..Jilted Generation" constantly as well.....
February 13, 200916 yr Probably... only time knows. I'm quite ashamed as i only heard and liked their two last album - Exciter and Playing The Angel, both were immense. Freelove is in my Top 3 songs of all time.
