Geraldine's apparently on the Royal Variety Performance show on Wednesday

Yup. It was actually last Thursday and apparently she got everyone in the audience (including Charles and Camilla) doing the actions

 Id obviously like anything to beat x-factor to number 1.

But this release is just as cynical and v poorly done with just a gimmick giving it any appeal.

I know its for charity but how many extra of his christmas dvds is he going to shift with this exposure. He has basically done nothing for his massive C4 salary this year apart from this. He is totally money mad and ripping off is stupid fans.People who buy this are kind more sheep like than the x factor clones.

I'm really sick of the "sheep" argument. I'm going to buy this. And the Alexandra single. And The Killers. And maybe Basshunter :)

Bottom line is, people will like what they want to like. Music taste is totally subjective, there's no such thing as good and bad. You either like something or you don't. Nobody is going to say "I don't like this, but Simon Cowell doesn't, so I have to buy it" are they?

I disagree with the 'totally money mad' bit. Peter Kay does a lot of work for local charities in the North West. I wouldn't be at all surprised if any money gained from 'The Winners Song' was donated to a local charity - he just doesn't shout it from the tree-tops like a lot of other artists. I bet you don't complain when you're favourite singer / group does promo for latest singles and albums ... its no different for other entertainers. I'll go on the quality of a song and if I like it or not. I'll get this one because not only is it good ... it has the medley on from the TV series (born to run / born free / free nelson mandella / umbrella). The fact that its for charity has nothing to do with - I'd still get it even if it wasn't. On the other hand I won't buy the Special Kay dvd as I've believe its a pile of c**p.

I think I voted for top 2 or 3, but I wasn't paying attention to the charts so that was a little too optimistic.

I'll admit it, I like Peter Kay. I thought the Pop Factor show was hilarious and I liked The Winner's Song, even though I didn't get around to buying it. I like this song even more, and I will be buying it sometime this week - I hope sales will be boosted after people watch Geraldine on the Royal Variety Performance and then again on Friday with the follow up show. I'm pleased it's for charity but even if it hadn't been it's got some catchy lyrics and puts me in a happy Christmas mood.
