December 21, 200816 yr What Are You Doing New Year? probably the most famous - its a Standard - lots of versions: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y1idhwIW_n4 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kU_BBNeumLI http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=G1YbfCQmr4o http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PGOid0TxB_Q http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cxoq1Q2DY0&...feature=related also - personal fave: New Year's Eve - Eg and Alice.
December 21, 200816 yr Someone's still yet to make a really, really big New Year song that becomes a massive huge hit and becomes part of New Year parties until the end of time. Basically, what Slade did for Christmas songs in 1973. Yeah there's Auld Lang Syne but that's been around forever :P

Basically, what Slade did for Christmas songs in 1973. Yeah there's Auld Lang Syne but that's been around forever :P In parts of mainland Europe, Abba's song IS that song. You can't go to a party or switch on a TV in Germany or Holland and not hear that at midnight. Strange, because they're on about 'another ten years time...the end of 89'...
December 21, 200816 yr John Christie - Here`s To Love Freddie And The Dreamers - I Understand G.Clefs - I Understand George Harrison - Ding Dong Paul Nicholas - Grandma`s Party Cliff Richard - This New Year Dina Carroll - The Perfect Year and many versions of Auld Lang Syne!
December 21, 200816 yr George Harrison - Ding Dong That's a terrible song! It's just an endless, repetitive chant. TBH, though I like the Beatles, I found much of what I heard from George Harrison rather dull, and doubt it would've seen the light of day had it not been by an ex-Beatle. Sorry, don't mean to offend Beatle fans!

Sorry, don't mean to offend Beatle fans! He did write Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps which to be fair, are better songs than most songwriters will ever come close to penning.
