For any fans of old school 80's thrash metal, here's the band that nearly made the big 4 ('tallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth) the big 5. Testament are an amazing band and their early records are on a par with Master Of Puppets and Reign In Blood. A highly overlooked band here's some songs from their early years.

Over The Wall

Raging Waters

Trial By Fire

Practice What You Preach

Down Down Down to Mephistos Cafe

One Foot On The Gas, One Foot On The Grave

Everything Went Numb

^ Quite like those songs (above)

Gojira (French metal band)

Vacuity - Taken from the 2008 album "The Way of All Flesh"

Backbone - Taken from 2004/5 album "The Link"

The Heaviest Matter of the Universe - Taken from 2006 album "From Mars to Sirius"

Flying Whales - same as above

Gojira... they seem a bit meh, maybe of all there instruments werent all playing one note on every beat at the exact same time the music would be more exciting, they need to differ the instruments more.

That's not true... the instruments follow the beat in a different way or something like that.

Listen to their albums, you will see the variety. :D

Not really a recommendation, as everyone already probably knows it! But for the last couple of days I've been hooked on Jimi Hendrix 'Purple Haze'

I'm not sure how people take to black metal on here but one of my favourite black metal bands that no-one seems to know about is Dekadent from Slovenia. Thing about them is they have their melodic stuff (e.g A cry of revolt) but they have their insanely heavy stuff (e.g Vigred) But anyway, check these video's out and see what you think.

Shotgun Revolution. Find them on Myspace (shotgunrevolutiondk)

Saw them in Denmark and I haven't stopped raving about them since. They're coming over to the UK this summer and they are probably one of the best rock acts i've seen live. Ever.

Check them out!

A while ago I tried a sort of roundtable thread just to try and introduce some new music that maybe didn't warrant a thread of it's own (yet!) but that crashed and burned without much comment so how about a thread where if you find a decent track that you want to share, you can.

So to kick it off...

Loving this at the moment.

And I now this came out last year but I thought I'd sneak it in here while it was still relevant!

Great tune too.
