January 22, 200916 yr For any fans of old school 80's thrash metal, here's the band that nearly made the big 4 ('tallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth) the big 5. Testament are an amazing band and their early records are on a par with Master Of Puppets and Reign In Blood. A highly overlooked band here's some songs from their early years. February 21, 200916 yr Author nothings been reccomended in a while so.... there is never enough talk about Ska Punk acts here so i'll reccomend one... Streetlight Manifesto a ska-punk act from from New Jersey, they are led by songwriter Tomas Kaloky who was in Catch-22 once upon a time. Streetlight quite often have dark lyrics and an amazing horn section, here are some of their best tunes... February 21, 200916 yr Author Gojira... they seem a bit meh, maybe of all there instruments werent all playing one note on every beat at the exact same time the music would be more exciting, they need to differ the instruments more.
February 21, 200916 yr Gojira... they seem a bit meh, maybe of all there instruments werent all playing one note on every beat at the exact same time the music would be more exciting, they need to differ the instruments more. That's not true... the instruments follow the beat in a different way or something like that. Listen to their albums, you will see the variety. :D Edited February 21, 200916 yr by funmaker11

April 16, 200916 yr Not really a recommendation, as everyone already probably knows it! But for the last couple of days I've been hooked on Jimi Hendrix 'Purple Haze'
November 5, 200915 yr I'm not sure how people take to black metal on here but one of my favourite black metal bands that no-one seems to know about is Dekadent from Slovenia. Thing about them is they have their melodic stuff (e.g A cry of revolt) but they have their insanely heavy stuff (e.g Vigred) But anyway, check these video's out and see what you think. April 1, 201114 yr Shotgun Revolution. Find them on Myspace (shotgunrevolutiondk) Saw them in Denmark and I haven't stopped raving about them since. They're coming over to the UK this summer and they are probably one of the best rock acts i've seen live. Ever. Check them out!

October 12, 201212 yr A while ago I tried a sort of roundtable thread just to try and introduce some new music that maybe didn't warrant a thread of it's own (yet!) but that crashed and burned without much comment so how about a thread where if you find a decent track that you want to share, you can. So to kick it off... BYbJmQj5VkE Loving this at the moment.
October 12, 201212 yr And I now this came out last year but I thought I'd sneak it in here while it was still relevant! Great tune too. irOhO0qHzzw
