Posted December 30, 200816 yr It's 11 pm and you can play any one album on the radio. What will that be? I would play ...David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from mars. A truly great album that launched Bowie into superstardom. Not only for my enjoyment, but to let younger listeners hear what a good album sounds like. What album would you play? It can be your favourite or possibly one you would want a new generation of people to hear.
December 31, 200816 yr hmmm... human league 'dare' or dexys midnight runners 'searching for the young soul rebels'... dunno which.
December 31, 200816 yr Queen - A Night At The Opera Many of my fave Queen songs on it like Death On Two Legs, Sweet Lady, Propet Song and so on
December 31, 200816 yr Should be retro or egal? As funny as it may sound :teresa: it will be very difficult for me to choose between: Beatles - Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Mark Owen - How the mighty fall (I really should choose the last one because nobody knows it - while everybody knows the songs of Beatles  ). I would choose also an album of Rufus Wainwright, but as much as i like some of his songs, i don't like a any of his albums as a whole. The one named of Queen is also a legend.
December 31, 200816 yr Kate Bush - The Hounds Of Love The Seventh Wave concept 2nd half of the album must be heard in full to be appreciated).
December 31, 200816 yr Straight Up - Badfinger (needs a remastered CD though, but it's Apple - they are still prisoners of The Beatles! ) DdWfgra7Mw8
January 1, 200916 yr It's 11 pm and you can play any one album on the radio. What will that be? I would play ...David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from mars. but the added problem you put into the equasion is thats its 11pm so obv you gotta get the vibe really really right...and with bowie it might be the wrong vibe as there might be the sing-a-longa-bility to think about...and personally if theres songs to sing along to might be wrong to listen to it then as personally if i was in my house i would get my dad annoyed for playing music too loud really late into the night and probs have a go at me as the neighbor's would wanna go to sleep at that point...so also no scooter or clubland albums either... i've got a 100 hits of power ballads on at the moment and even thats agreeable background noise thats not really annoying my dad (unlike springsteen the other day  ) think at that point in the night it would probs bore me if i was just listening to it reading my copy of record collector...i was listening to the best of the verve the other night at about 11 and the was boring me at that point as the vibe was wrong... i guess the best vibe would be some old soul - marvin or curtis or something found on something like ace records...but not too nothern souly something more chilled...something that would suit you and everyone else around you... but not something that would send you to sleep if you were a bit tired or bore you if you were hyper and staying up way after your parents had gone to bed... Should be retro or egal? As funny as it may sound :teresa: it will be very difficult for me to choose between: Beatles - Sgt. I think this discussion should go into a 'Brian91's General Music Discussion' area..well obv!!!
January 2, 200916 yr New Order - Substance Is that cheating? Every song on it is incredible. Although to be honest Bizarre Love Triangle has aged really badly.
January 2, 200916 yr Author but the added problem you put into the equasion is thats its 11pm so obv you gotta get the vibe really really right.....and personally if theres songs to sing along to might be wrong to listen to it then as personally if i was in my house i would get my dad annoyed for playing music too loud really late into the night and probs have a go at me as the neighbor's would wanna go to sleep at that point...so also no scooter or clubland albums either... if you were hyper and staying up way after your parents had gone to bed... Once you leave the comfort of your parents home and you get your own place, you can play whatever you like at 11pm ;)
January 3, 200916 yr Setting Sons by The Jam or Revolver by The Beatles... I'm undecided at the moment...
January 3, 200916 yr Aerosmith - Rock One of the most underrated rock/metal albums of the 70's, and ALWAYS overlooked by avid rock fans, even though it was the album which inspired Slash to learn how to play electric guitar and has inspired & influenced many Metallica records.
January 3, 200916 yr If it has to be retro... Kate Bush - Hounds of Love Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West Otherwise, it'd be Ys by Joanna Newsom or Illinois by Sufjan Sevens. I am indecisive.
January 5, 200916 yr If it has to be retro... erm, thats what this forum is about m8.... but then again they messed up general music area and until they give one to brian91 why not think why not?!?!?
January 6, 200916 yr Author I think this discussion should go into a 'Brian91's General Music Discussion' area..well obv!!! Alex, stop making your childish comments at my expense. No one was more annoyed than me that you lost your Culture/Specialist forum. At least you posted your amazing threads in one place. I will be the first one to support you getting it back. ;) I do not post churlish comments in your threads so why do you post them in mine? But hey, carry on if it makes you happy.
