#1 for 3 weeks

I’ve loved this song since it was first recorded at Radio 1 innit :o I was so glad when they decided to release it, and I think I do prefer it to the original version atch. ‘Run’ has already become Leona’s 3rd biggest hit to date and its still Top 5. :o

5. Girls Aloud – Can’t Speak French SALES OF 400K FROM HERE

#1 for 3 weeks

One of the longest-running #1s of the year, Can’t Speak French became the girls’ 3rd #1 of five. I can’t really listen to it anymore because I’ve played it too much. It’s not one of the best from Tangled Up either. But I did, at some point, absolutely love it. True fact: the week this song went to #1 was the first week EVER that I changed the #1 after posting it on BJ. Chris Brown - With You is now doomed to an eternity as a #2.

4. Britney Spears - Womanizer +

Mad TV skit

#1 for 3 weeks

I absolutely want this song’s babies <3 <3 <3 It took a while to grow (like ‘Gimme More’) but just like that aforementioned song has now become a true Britney classic for me. True fact: This was the first (and only) song EVER to return to the #1 spot more than once, spending 3 inconsecutive weeks there. Of Brit‘s 7 songs, this is the second biggest (after ‘Gimme More‘)

3. Leona Lewis - Better In Time

#1 for 3 weeks

I lurrrvveee this song, although it was a remix Mikal Wikal sent me which made start to like it. Before that it hadn’t even peaked in the Top 10 :o Leona’s 2nd biggest song of the 6 I’ve charted.

2. Girls Aloud - The Promise +

Children In Need performance

#1 for 4 weeks

The second longest-running #1 of the year finishes as second biggest hit of the whole year, strangely enough. The first GA song I’ve liked instantly upon first listen, it became their first to debut at #1 for me and will become their biggest hit ever in a couple of weeks. Another song I can’t really listen to anymore though.

1. Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl + SALES OF 600K

#1 for 5 weeks

The longest-running #1 of the whole year scoops the top spot of the Year End Chart :o I instantly loved this song when Jake first showed me it, charted it way back in July and it went all the back up to #2 in September. Absolutely the song of 2008 for me and also the second biggest song ever on my chart (after Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Because of You’ - which will never be beaten.)
