'Happy' up to #11. Slowly but surely, that's what happens when you release a "grower" for the first single <_<

Grower?! It's boring and the whole album is much better!

Yes a grower. The majority of people I've spoken to, who hated it first, called it boring etc..., now LOVE it. It's a definitely grower.

its only at number 7
DANCE IN THE DARK BY LADY GAGA HAS BEEN ADDED TO ITUNES

IT'S f***ING AMAZING!

Indeed it has! That was... unexpected. I wonder does this mean it's the next single?

Yep, definately a grower. I've had it about two months and have only just gotten to like it.

Happy is not a grower in my opinion, its a good ballad at first that that just gets dull the more you hear it. I loved happy when i first heard it it but its just ok now.

it took me a month to like Happy and another month to adore it.

Its the least instant song(the biggest grower) on the album imo,so for that reason it probably wasn't the best choice for lead single. But its defenitely one if not the best song on the album.

I'm not suprised its struggling on itunes over here,it hasn't had much airplay so far.

Any chance of someone starting a separate Irish ITunes thread rather than clogging up this one with updates???
'Dance In The Dark' is at #30 :yahoo:

Wow, that's a shock! I wonder how people knew it was out? Cause I doubt that many people would use sites like this. And Ke$ha up to No.1! :cheer:

If we got sales next that would be amazing :kink:

I really don't see what the problem is....The iTunes chart and The Uk chart thread are seperate so why can't the Irish one.

iTunes is of course influential but yes, no one will remember hu is number one on it.

What i don't see is why everyone has to wait around for one person to post the chart, just when it comes up it should become available....and its hardly as if the people can't just go to the IRMA or Chart Track website and check it out anyway.....I believe this s called "The Irish Chart Thread 2009" not the "Shaky Fan's Irish Chart Thread 2009" so anyone should post.

Obviously your opinion is important but you shouldn't restain other Buzzjackers because of your opinion.

Thats my two pence. :D

Hi Cian

As I said earlier I don't have a problem with the separate I Tunes thread which was why I suggested it.

As for waiting for me to post the chart. The Irish chart is usually updated on the sites you mention around lunchtime on a Friday and traditionally I have posted it here on Friday evening or on Saturday allowing me time to do a formatted version which I also post on other chart forums. I've been doing that on this forum and it's predecessor for around 10 years. So when others started copying and pasting the charts before I got the chance to do anything you can understand why I may have been slightly pissed off. At the time I suggested a compromise where I would post an unformatted version around 7pm on Friday night and replace it with the formatted version when I had that done. As you point out if anyone is keen to see the full chart before I post it they can always check out IRMA or Chart-track

Yesterday there seemed to be a number of posts regarding song positions on the Irish ITunes which were starting to get away from the main issue of the thread which was why I suggested maybe a separate thread would be a good idea. Unfortunately Irishguy123 decided to turn this into another argument...

Ok I see ^_^

Can i ask what you do when you format it. I don't really look her for the actually chart only for its discussion so i wouldn't know.

Maybe just let them do what they want and you can post the formatted one in your own time...because, no more so than ever, with the iTunes chart, people will be eager to know who is number 1.

Sorry about this, but I've just had to "clean up" this thread ^_^

Please try and keep it friendly, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Anyone that starts another argument of the same kind WILL be warned.

When did I turn this into an argument? I believe you did this when you told me to p*** off, no? As I have already said, the iTunes chart is hugely influential and entirely relevant to the Irish chart. I believe I have been very reasonale, when I started posting the charts before you at the start of the year I stopped when asked. I have never done it since. But now you are trying to dictate what people can talk about in the thread. As I have already mentioned, this is a public forum - anybody can write what they like. You do not own this forum. Whilst I understand that you have been posting here for a long time, this is largely irrelevant - Buzzjack is getting more popular all the time. As Cian said, this thread it titled the "Irish Chart Thread", not "Shaky Fan's Irish Chart Thread". Also, you seem keen to remind us that you post the charts in several other forums - so why are you getting so upset about this one. Please, if we are going to have a disagreement again, at least make a proper argument and don't reduce yourself to the usage of smileys in place of an argument. I do not post the Irish Charts - I wait for you to do it. I believe you should be a bit more grateful.

To explain what I do - I have 2 files. 1 is a spreadsheet with the different charts on it and this is updated first. The 2nd is a text file which is basically the formatted version that you can see each week when I have updated everything - it includes the various headings for each chart and the commentaries. If I were to post it now it would look like this....

Chart Run to date: 13 1

Download: Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love (1st week)

Chart Run to date: 12 1

Artist Album: Michael Buble - Crazy Love (1st week)

Compilation Album: Twilight: New Moon (OST) (1st week)

Chart Run to date: 1

Indie Artist Album: Coronas - Tony Was An Ex Con (1st week - 3rd in total)

Chart Run to date: 1 1 2 1

When the spreadsheet is updated I copy and paste the charts across to the text file. The formattting is done in such a way that it works on all the forums I post on (some forums have slightly different commands).

Because of the "demand" for the charts to be posted earlier it was suggested that I copy & paste the charts on Friday evenings and substitute the formatted version, with commentaries and tracks "Dropping Out" added, when I had them sorted. This seems to have worked quite well.

I had also considered the possibility of posting a standard message on Thursday evening along the lines of

The new Irish charts will be posted here on Friday evening. If you want to see the charts before then they can be found at www.irma.ie or www.chart-track.ie

Anyone who really needs to see the chart and can't wait can therefore check the websites for themselves. This can then be edited on Friday evening with the copy & paste charts and later with the formatted version.

There's no problem with posting the occasional ITunes details as has always happened eg: "Leona Lewis is no 3 on ITunes after 1 day - she stands a good chance of getting to no 1 next week" but it starts to get confusing when you get several posts and it can be confusing as to which chart is being referred to. That's why I suggested a separate thread for I Tunes - after all that's the way it works with the UK charts.
