Further down the Top 40 there are three new entries this week, the highest of which is Lionel Richie at No33 with ‘Just Go’, his first album of new material to make the chart since the 1980’s. Pet Shop Boys have the next new entry with their tenth studio album ‘Yes’ at No34 and US heavy metal band Mastodon complete the trio with ‘Crack the Skye’ at No37. Flo Rida takes a second week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Right Round’, thanks to the CD release this week which keeps him ahead of nearest rival Lady Gaga, whose ‘Poker Face’ holds steady at No2 overall but is this week’s top-selling download. Metro Station taste their first Irish Top 10 success as ‘Shake It’ climbs from No16 to No7, again, boosted by a CD release to complement the downloads. Enrique Iglesias on the other hand, returns to the Top 10 for a sixth time as ‘Takin Back My Love’ (feat. Ciara) leaps from No20 to No9. A. R. Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls have this week’s highest new entry at No11 with ‘Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)’, an English language interpretation of the Slumdog Millionaire closing song. Shaky Fan's Commentary Well in the words of this week's no 8 single it seems Ireland just can't get enough of the Galway Girl as Sharon Shannon moves back into the Top 30. As I type this I'm listening to the chart show on 2FM which seems to have come up with it's own version of what appears above. I thought I misheard when Larry Gogan played a track from "the no 1 compilation Forever Friends: Thank You Mum" but he then followed it up with a track from "101 Housework Songs which is at no 2". Moving into the singles chart we had Bell X1 "staying at 10" and Just Dance "still at 9". Numbers 8 and 7 were correct but Dead & Gone "drops 1 to 6" with Halo playing at 5 - the Top 4 is correct.. RTE's commitment to the chart seems to have waned in recent times - it doesn't even appear on 2FM's newly revamped website. Ireland's Call makes a not too surprising return to the chart after last weekend's rugby triumph. It had previously spent 10 weeks in the Top 50 peaking at 3. Expect it to be joined next week by the 2nd hit for the Corrigan Brothers - Here's To The Grand Slam & Ronan O'Gara was written and recorded last week and made available to radio stations on Monday morning though the tune already existed - its a rewrite of their first hit - There's No-one As Irish as Barack Obama! Finally something I meant to point out last week. She now has the best-selling album (The Fame) and the best-selling single (Just Dance) of the year so far in Ireland. There are two new entries in this week’s Top 20, the highest of which is Leonard Cohen’s ‘Live In London’ at No5, an identical debut placing to his last album ‘Dear Heather’ in 2004. Flo Rida has the next at No13 with his second album ‘R.O.O.T.S.’ (Route Of Overcoming The Struggle). – a huge improvement on the No62 chart peak for his previous album ‘Mail On Sunday’. Flo Rida has a third week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Right Round’, maintaining a slim lead over nearest rival Lady Gaga, whose ‘Poker Face’ holds steady at No2 for a third week. A. R. Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls leap eight places from No11 to No3 with ‘Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)’, well poised to challenge for next week’s Top Spot. This week’s highest new entry is at No6 for Dublin 5-piece Keywest with ‘Miss You Most’ – their third and most successful single to date: ‘Livin In The Summertime’ peaked at No8 and ‘Damn’ reached No30 last year. The next new entry is at No11 for Ciara’s ‘Love Sex Magic’ (feat. Justin Timberlake) – one place behind ‘Takin Back My Love’ on which she guests with Enrique Iglesias.  Shaky Fan's Commentary Well no sign of the Corrigan Brothers - either with "Here's To The Grand Slam..." or "An Irishman Invented Rock n Roll", the title track of their debut album which came out on Friday. I spotted the CD single on a visit to Dublin on Friday and presume it was released last week.. BTW for anyone wondering about the ratio of CDs to downloads on the singles chart all I can say is that on my visit to Dublin the only place I saw any chart singles was in HMV on Grafton Street and they had about a dozen titles on offer, hidden in the basement.
