Yeap, i thought Suzie was only going to be gone for a few months or so aswell

I cant say im exited about Sam being back mostly due to the fact that it isnt Kim Medcalf that's returning.

Just got round to watch next weeks, great stuff with Masoods.

Really really like Syed. Marc Elliott is great, although I cant help but get a gay vibe off him :kink :

Could look at him all day.

In general im not sure about the Masoods im probably alone in thinking this but if they were beve ron screen again i dont think t would affect the show at all, maybe the son arriving will open up some fire works

Wow. First Marc Elliott now Adam Croasdell. Thank you EE

New resident medic Dr Al Jenkins is set to start pulses racing when he arrives later this month.

At last, the residents of Walford can get their ailments tended to by a trained professional! Not only is there a new doctor about to hit the Square, but they also happen to be young, male and not unpleasant to look at.

Dr Al Jenkins returns to his East End roots and sets up practice in Walford after leaving the fresh sea air of Ifracombe, North Devon. As a child, Al lived on Albert Square but moved away with his family.

Growing up in Devon seems to have left its mark on the new doctor, who's a bit of a surfer and enjoys the great outdoors. Dr Al certainly looks set to breathe some fresh air into the neighbourhood, not least because he's both attractive and available. "Al is single and he likes to mingle", says actor Adam Croasdell, who has previously appeared in The Chase and Holby City . With a few single ladies on the Square, Dr Al is likely to find his appointment book rather full up.

The Walford women may welcome him with open arms, but it remains to see how the men will respond to the fresh-faced doctor. Luckily for Al, he already has a friend in Dot Branning , who knows his mother and was fond of him when he was a boy.

Dr Al is Adam's first soap role and he's enthusiastic about the challenge of continuing drama. "EastEnders is a British institution, it's such an honour to be part of it", he says. Adam also admits to being "totally starstruck" while working with acting heroines Barbara Windsor and June Brown .

Besides being a bit of eye candy for the ladies, what else can we expect of Dr Al Jenkins? Adam reveals, "he's certainly got his flaws and is quite edgy at times. He's not all sweetness and light."

Danny Dyer turns down Walford role

Danny Dyer has scrapped plans to accept a role on BBC soap EastEnders, it was revealed today.

The Football Factory actor entered talks with controller of BBC drama production John Yorke last month. He later announced that he hoped to shed his "hard man" image on the programme.

However, Dyer has now called a halt to the career move after realising that he would be unable to cope with the press scrutiny which surrounds the Walford-based show.

"I quite liked the idea of it. But actually, in reality, I just got cold feet," he told the Daily Star Sunday. "Just from having a meeting it's all over the newspapers and it gave me the horrors. Imagine if I went in it.

"With the EastEnders thing, the whole publicity gets out of hand. It's like a whole new beast. It's not something I fancy.

"I didn't come that bad out of it because they said I was going to save the show. I don't want to write it off totally but at this point in my career I think it would be madness."

Dyer recently made headlines after describing Gavin & Stacey star Mathew Horne as a "rubbish" actor.

'They said I was going to save the show'?

I think I just sicked a little.

how on earth he thought save the show when the show is on top form is beyond me,,....

the irish tv awards are on tv tonight and a disappointing night for eastenders

all they have got is barbra windsor won best soap icon award

coronation street won 3,sexiest female, best couple and best female in a soap, emmerdale got best male star and fair city won best soap all a joke in my own opinion but its what the irish have voted for

A few snippets from a frankly hilarious interview with June Brown:

*

For Brown, who spent years with the Royal Shakespeare Company before joining EastEnders, acting is clearly high art, and the stage its highest form. When she was offered the part of Dot Cotton, it was initially for just three months, and she was wary of joining a soap. She'd only seen the show once, "and there was an argument going on, and I thought, 'Oh, I don't want to watch all that,' so I switched it off. I didn't watch it again until I was asked to be in it."

For a while she got hooked on it, but no longer watches, and since the soap expanded to four shows a week she says she doesn't even know what's going on in the various storylines. In 1993 she left the soap, complaining that her character had become dreary, "living off her old reputation", but returned in 1997, and earns a reported £400,000 a year.

I ask if cast members are competitive about storylines, and she replies, rather unconvincingly, "I don't think so." She pauses for a beat. "Well, some people get upset when they don't have storylines, but you can't have one all the time. Well," she adds under her breath, "some people do, but we won't say anything about that," and she breaks into another cough, which turns into a waspish laugh.

Only Adam Wyatt - Ian Beale - has served longer on the show, and I imagine that must make her head girl to newcomers. "Oh no," she deadpans. "They come in and look at you all big-eyed, and then they treat you like chip paper once they've got the storylines and you haven't. They think, 'Oh, there's old bit part there.'" She snorts, then laughs. "And I haven't been drinking! Think what I'd say if I'd had a glass of wine."

Among the many abominations of modern society for Brown is the amount of time children spend watching TV - even if EastEnders does account for two hours a week.

"And I'm also troubled by how much time they spend on their computers. They all go off into their own rooms, going into - what on earth do they call it - Twitter?" She repeats it witheringly. "Twit-ter. That's what it is. Telling everybody what they're doing! And talking about themselves in the third person. 'June is about to go to the lavatory.' 'June has just changed the sheets on her bed, don't ask her why.' I mean, really."

She sinks back in her chair, feigning exhaustion. Laughing, with a final flourish of high camp - a toss of the head, and a melodramatic shudder - she delivers her tremulous verdict.

"I loathe it all. Oh it's a horrible world, and I loathe it all".

What a wonderful episode! Xainab  I frigging love her. She gets SO flustered and is probably the least subtle person ever. In history. 'It's... Bob! I need to... go out now!' Also I'm getting gay vibes from Syed (yes, from those three words) and his pretty little face. If only.

Also I adore Jayne. Does anyone agree that she looked stunning tonight?

:heehee:

I said the other day I got the gay vibe! I won't give up on this dream

We have a shirtless scene too look forward too as well ;)

Oh I mentioned a thing with Tracy - its not a row with Phil. Phil suggests they get together I think :kink: He is pissed of course!

If I ever have a child I'm going to call it Dotty <3 I love how Victorian she is. I do kinda hope she starts to warm to Dot and ends up feeling guilty and tells Nick where to go but I don't see it :(

Tracy has like over 50 words in Tuesday episode next week

Most I've ever seen of her in one ep :o She is taking over :cheer:

Edited by RyRy

Just had to rewatch the episode to stare of Syed.

The new Doc next week doesnt do much for me though sadly.

Thank god Tommy is gone. Terrible storyline.

I really warmed to Tommy's storyline :( The idea of wanting to track Patrick down to apologise for something so far in the past is quite sweet in a way :heehee:

Enough of THAT though, tonight was all about Syed. Beautiful Syed. What an immensely kissable FIND he is. Ugh. First fit EE male in quite some time!
