I hope its a murder and we get a who done it. Tonights episode was great but its no shock as the evr brilliant Simon Ashdown wrote the scripts, he never fails to deliverthe goods its just a shame he doesnt do more writing for eastenders a sin my opinion he is in a league of his own.
Lacey is a real treat to watch recently. One of the best actresses on tv right now IMO.

i came here to praise her after last nights stunning performance...

yep ive actually PRAISED someone off ee!!!

EastEnders' Ronnie Mitchell is to get a blast from the past when her first love Joel Reynolds turns up in Albert Square.

Star of BBC Three's Pulling, Cavan Clerkin will take on the role of Ronnie's (Samantha Womack) old flame and father to her now-dead daughter Danielle Jones (Lauren Crace).

As the only remaining link to Danielle, Ronnie's previously toyed with the idea of meeting up with him and even attended a school reunion with Christian (John Partridge) in the hope that he would be there.

When he failed to show, she subsequently turned up on his doorstep wishing to talk through their past. However, as one of his daughters answered the door, Ronnie bolted from the scene.

With Janine (Charlie Brooks) and Archie (Larry Lamb) scheming behind Ronnie's back in a bid to manipulate her back into the family fold, she's dumbfounded when she finds Joel sat before her in The Vic.

Archie's livid by Janine's interference, while Ronnie's somewhat taken by his reappearance in her life. Will they manage to pick up where they left off all those years ago?

Speaking of his new role, Clerkin said: "It's fantastic being on set in Albert Square, it's such an iconic place and I'm really enjoying working with the wonderful cast, especially Samantha Womack. Joel is a nice guy who fantasises about a future with an amazingly beautiful woman, so that's something a lot of men may relate too!"

Executive producer Diederick Santer commented: "We first heard about Joel - Ronnie's childhood sweetheart and the father of Danielle - nearly two years ago. And finally we get to see him."

He added: "Cavan Clerkin is a delightful and subtle actor with a big funny bone. He's grabbed this enigmatic and rather odd character and made it his own."

Clerkin makes his screen debut as Joel on Thursday, August 6.

But pretty he ain't:

I'm quite glad that week is over. Tonight's episode felt as if it lasted HOURS. There's been some great acting from Lacey, Gillian Wright as Jean and Shona McGarty as Whitney, but that whole storyline with the gun was a TRUE turd. Talk about a total non-plot!

I do hope that next week is based entirely out of Walford and follows Abi's doubtless thrilling trip to Isle Of Wight with Bernardette.

Knife I'm sure you mean :P

Amazing episode tonight - Lacey and Gillian were superb.

Max and Tanya have such fabulous chemistry.

Tracy-Ann O wants to come back

Former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman has revealed that she would love to finish off her character's storyline.

The 39-year-old, who played cold-blooded murderer Chrissie Watts for a year-and-a-half, was written out of the BBC soap in December 2005 when she was left languishing in prison for killing her husband Den (Leslie Grantham).

Due to the unavailability of Oberman and the other actors involved - Michelle Ryan (Zoe Slater) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) - Den's murder trial was shelved and Chrissie was last seen returning to her cell after a visit from Jake Moon (Joel Beckett).

With no resolve to Chrissie's story, Oberman hopes to one day discover what happened to her Walford counterpart.

Speaking exclusively to DS, she enthused: "I'd love to finish off Chrissie's storyline because I love the character and I do feel that she was left in limbo. To know what happened to her would be great. Even if she went back to say goodbye or wanted to make peace with Sam. Or maybe we could see her in prison?"

She continued: "I would have loved to have wrapped [the story]up. She just told Jake [Moon] not to wait for her because she realised she had to do her time. She'd have probably got well in with the Governor. I could imagine them having cosy dinners together. Probably the Jeffrey Archer of soapworld."

Chrissie's co-conspirator Sam Mitchell is due to return to the Square in September as the character's original actress Danniella Westbrook takes the reins from Medcalf.

If you'd like to follow the campaign to #BringBackChrissie, a twitter page (@ChrissieWatts) has been set up. Or if you'd rather tell the lovely Tracy-Ann Oberman how much you love her/her work/Chrissie Watts, then you can add her on Twitter, too (@TracyAnnO)!

Follow them :cheer:

I've been following Tracy-Ann for ages, she's funny as fuck! I'd die for Chrissie to come back. Legend.

Nobody else agrees that he's hot to trot. :(

I agree. Wholeheartedly. :o Wow. Me and him got bidness we gonna handle through the night. To the floor.

Anyhoo in more EE related news. The Syed and Christian things bores me. Peggy is becoming unbearable also :(

Peggy became horrific a good year ago. The only reason I don't want her gone is that without her we'd never see Aunt Sal. :(

Christian/Syed is sort of boring but I think it's properly cute when they get along. They do make a nice couple despite Christian being a bit of a munter and Syed deserving a man as riproaringly gorgeous as Matthew Gray Gubler (I like typing his name).
