It’s the kiss between Christian and Syeed tonight, so off com will be busy on Monday morning.

How much of an OMG moment was it tonight when Christian told (the quite fabulous) Bushra that he hadn't found the right man yet? My mouth literally fell open. They constructed that scene so well. Aaargh. I thought the kiss was very classy and judged just right.

^ I agree. It makes more sense it was like that rather then a massive snogfest.

I thought it was totally boring 'hadn't found the right man yet' line is so OLD ... and certainly nothing that hadn't been done before on British TV. Were we supposed to be shocked by Bushra's reaction? It was exactly what I expected the writers to expect the viewers to think. Juxtapose this with the Babylon Hotel episode later that evening - and although totally unbelievable and far-fetched - BH did it far funnier and entertainingly.

What was good about tonight's show was Stacey. A totally understated performance from Lacey Turner - the one actress that keeps this turgid series watchable.

norma if you hate eastenders so much why are you watching it i just can work that out every post you have on eastenders has negativity in there

Oh Norma, you know I like you but you should steer clear of this thread/Eastenders in generally :( It's exceptionally tiresome to read your constants rants. You barely ever give credit where it's due.

I've actually started watching it lately with an objective mind. On the last episode ... the brilliant, understated Stacey story, was sidelined to a, quite frankly, pantomime and totally laughable story involving Bushra, Christian, etc. I'm quite proud of myself actually for watching this show and appreciating its good bits but quite rightly ... damning its terrible bits! In the last episode people are going 'ooh ah' at the Asian family/Christian is a gay storyline - when it is old hat! The gradual desolation and total disintegration of Stacey is being totally overlooked (probably because she's not shouting). THIS is what is good about Eastenders - not some clumsy-done gay storyline! Please note - I am not against gay storylines - but I want them done intelligently - not in the 'paint by numbers' way the Eastenders writers do it!

Instead of lapping up, and appreciating EVERYTHING the producers throw at the viewer, I choose to appreciate the good and quite rightly comdemn the truly awful. Come on Pete ... even you must admit there are parts of this show that are pants. For instance ... Peggy lecturing Jake on how to treat her nieces who she is so, so protective of. And yet .... until Ronnie and Roxy actually made a physical appearance in the show ... she'd never mentioned them!

And before anyone says I hail Corrie as a superior series ... I am as equally critical of that show! Quite frankly - Fiz should have been murdered a few dozen episodes back!

Not as tiresome as your trite comments.

I think another viewpoint is enjoyable to read; I don’t see the thread labelled as the Eastenders love in thread. :/

I don't do constant rants! I think if you look up my posts on Eastenders - I've made about 10 at most. I don't believe in posting constantly on worthless subjects.

I do give credit where it is due. The fantastic Lacey Turner (when not given 'shouting' scripts by its infantile writers) is a joy to behold. And an actress that, if I'm right, will go on to bigger and better things. When EE does comedy - it should make the most of its best comedy characters - Ian Beale for instance ... whenever they do a funny story with him - 80% of the time it works! I just don't fawn 100% over a show that has its faults. Yes - I much prefer Coronation Street - but I can see at a glance its glaring mistakes and am often critical of them! It just seems to me, that Eastenders fans cannot see any wrong in the show. And for me ... that is as bad as Britney fans saying 'its OK to mime!'.

PS - thank you Ethan!

As I'm sure you are aware, dear E, you've been warned in the past for attempting to start arguments with me when there simply isn't one to be had. It would be most appreciated if you could find me even one example of one of my so-called 'trite comments' within this thread.

You see ... there you go! Slamming anyone (Ethan) who dares to question you! Face it pal ... Eastenders has its good days ... and it has its bad days! It ain't all the stuff of Oscars!

What you don't know about Ethan, Norma, is that he has a bizarre grudge against me based on an age-old disagreement we had in the bloody iTunes thread of all places! I actually thought you wouldn't lower yourself in the way that he has, and that we could enjoy a personable debate... but apparently I'm not your 'pal'.

God who needs Albert Square when you have BJ!

No need for that Ethan. And I'm sure we can all have differing opinions in here and a good old debate without a slanging match!

EE does have it bad points and I'm sure theres noone here deluded enough to think otherwise and admit them when necessary!

Sorry He-Wolf! I didn't mean to upset or offend you. Forget Ethan - apart from Pete (FTF) from the Take That forum, I don't know anyone on here - so I won't take sides with anyone! But I do feel that you (and others) blindingly love everything that the EE script-writers throw at you. Can't you at least appreciate the good but at the same time criticise the bad (and the Bushra/thingy storyline in EE is just plain bad). To me ... this forum just sucks arse to Eastenders. Go on the Coronation Street thread ... and you'll see how we appreciate the good .... but slate the bad!!! To me ... we are the better 'Barry Normans' of the soapland!

Believe it or not Pete - but there are parts of the show I like! Which is why I waste my time watching it occasionally. But for me ... the fans on here NEVER comment on its bad points! Of which there are many!

And ... you forget ... I have posted positively ... Lacey Turner ... but it seems most fans would rather appreciate a, quite frankly, sloppily written 'gay/muslim' storyline!

That’s irrelevant, stop being rude towards other members, and please kindly remember you’re not a special case.

I often DO critcise the bad, Norma! I'm not at all sure where this idea that I lap everything up has come from. A couple of weeks ago I wrote that EE was having a really crap week if I recall. I've said before how the build-up to this kiss has been non-existant which makes it entirely unbelievable, but I'm not going to criticise that element of last night's episode when it was perfectly-played. The viewer genuinely felt upset for Christian when he let slip to Bushra about his sexual preference; it's not cliched or out-dated at all as a storyline.
