Massive congrats to June for being nominated. :o I doubt she'll win, it being an extremely tough category. I think Andrea Riseborough will win for her Thatcher portrayal, which was very good. Just being nominated must be very pleasing though.

Eastenders is also up for 'Best Continuing Drama' against Casualty, Emmerdale and The Bill. No Corrie. Ha!

SPOILERS- WEDDING DAY. It sounds MAJOR :cheer: I'm watching it tonight

One-hour special

The day of Peggy and Archie's wedding has finally dawned and the bride is extremely nervous about her impending nuptials - she especially hates the dress she's had made. With Ronnie's support, Peggy decides to change it back to the one she originally chose. When she arrives at the church, she worries about wearing a dress that Archie won't like, but Phil reassures her that everything will be fine and she finally plucks up the courage to enter the church. As she walks down the aisle, Archie can't believe that she's switched outfits and is stunned by her insistence that he should take her as she is.

Meanwhile, with everyone at the wedding, Danielle sneaks into The Vic and drops her locket into Ronnie's champagne glass. Afterwards, she hides upstairs and waits in anticipation for the wedding party to return from the church. On their return, Ronnie heads upstairs to find Danielle holding baby Amy. When Ronnie tells her to leave, Danielle snaps and finally breaks her seven-month silence, dropping the bombshell that she's her daughter.

Archie appears and admits that he knew about Danielle's crazy claims, but insists that she's making them all up. Danielle, though, tells Ronnie that the proof she needs is downstairs in her champagne flute. In the bar, Archie makes out to everyone that Danielle's mentally ill, resulting in her leaving. Once she's gone, the proceedings continue and during the speeches, Ronnie raises a glass to her father.

Just as she does, she spots Danielle's locket and is forced to come to terms with the gut-wrenching news that she's been living on the same Square as her daughter for over half a year.

As those at the wedding struggle to come to terms with the revelation, Archie's world begins to crumble at his feet. Visibly shaken, Ronnie heads to the Slaters' in search of Danielle, who's nowhere to be found. Rushing to the tube station with Stacey in tow, the events which unfold in front of Ronnie's eyes leave her with an eclipsing darkness inside.

Elsewhere during the day, Max and Tanya seek solace in each other as they discuss their daughter Lauren's situation and the pair find themselves kissing; Roxy slaps Ronnie at the reception; Janine makes an unwelcome appearance at the wedding party; Max asks Stacey to change her statement to help Lauren before her trial, prompting Stacey makes a pass at Max; and Jack admits to Ronnie that he loves her, not Roxy, before begging her for another chance.

That is going to be EPIC. I cannot wait. However... why is Archie

mad about her wearing the original dress? Why does it matter? Fill me in pls somebody!

Okay...

I think its more that he wants control. Peggy loved her original dress but Archie didnt like it so he paid for a new one to be made...to his requirements!

Another little spoiler lol

PM me with details please and I will love you lots..

its great that eastenders are nominated for the bafta but what annoys me is the year it wasnt nominated the press made a huge thing out of failing eastenders gets bafta snub an dit went on and on,i bet they wont make half as much out of corrie getting snubbed this year althoug hi do think corrie deserved the nomination more than emmerdale as it hasnt been a great year for ememrdale at all

I agree. The press bum Corrie so I dont expect too much about them.

Im gobsmackd Emmerdale got a nom. I gave up on ED a while ago but what I have seen has been dire. Really really dire.

And as bad as Corrie has been it has not been THAT bad!

PM me with details too, much appreciated. Want to know what happens to Danielle :o

I actually agree with the nomination for Eastenders it hasn't been too bad lately. In fact ... I'm watching it more than I should recently (thanks to the brilliant Larry Lamb). As much as people don't think Emmerdale deserves a nomination ... next to Casualty and The Bill - it is pure drama! The nominations in this category are a farce though as we all know EE will win it.

Now the downside ... as much as I agree with EE's nomination in Best Continuing Drama ... they are having a laugh with the June Brown nomination aren't they. She's just doing an Albert Steptoe impression in a frock! I really can't stand her acting ... just as I couldn't stand Jean Alexander's portrayal of Hilda Ogden. Just because they're old doesn't mean they are good actors!

Norma

I disagree I think June is superb.

She is nominated for her performance in her solo ep which was fantastic.

Omg @ the ending to the Ronnie/Danielle storyline :( So sad.

No worries :) Really is! Cant wait for you all to see it!

No more PM's though lol  sorry but its worth the wait now!

Couple of pics for you all :)

Wouldn't want to be the one causing Peggys expression!

i think june is well worthy of her best actress nonmination at the baftas as she is always over looked in these categories in general, and shows how are tastes are differnet norma as i loved hilda ogden when i think of her i t remember it as days when i actually loved coronation street
