Fergie is awful tactically. His main strength is to build a strong team, where his main weakness is tactics. This is what i'm trying to get at with Fergie. Tactically imo he's very poor. "I don't need to pick a settled defence, midfield, or attack in an away PL fixture, the week after our confidence has been shot to pieces". Either the man is an entirely arrogant human being, or he has lost the plot. You just cannot do that. Tactically it's just stupid.

Take the Champions League for example, i'd be a 100% confident of beating Man Utd over 2 legs as Benitez can out tactic Fergie easily, where as in the final, I wouldn't be so confident because of the strength in depth he has at his dispose at the moment.

dude above, you try and manage a football team to so much glory, and then come back and try say Fergie's bad tactically

if you call kicking the ball from the byline of your own half to the opposite goal constantly a good tactic, you should support Bolton.

Last time I looked in the mirror I wasn't a football manager though?

I don't see the point you're trying to make. I'm trying to say Fergie is not great tactically, which I believe to be true...

You can hardly compare the amount of European Cups with him and Paisley though! This era is a hell of a lot more competitive then it used to be and it's only now that one nation has managed to dominate it (i.e. England) how many teams have retained the European Cup since it's been called the Champions League? NONE! I do agree maybe he should have won more European Cups but it shows how many top sides are in Europe and after seeing some of how Barcelona played last night I'm scared that we may not be the first club to retain it...

But look at the facts, Fergie has been brilliant with bringing young players in throughout his career and to manage to build almost an entire team through youth like he did in the 90's will never happen again! He's won more trophies than any other manager including managing to break the Old Firm dominance with Aberdeen AND win a European trophy! (beating Real Madrid) he's had two great managers come in who have tried to break the dominance of Manchester United in Wenger and Mourinho and they've beaten him a few times but for the second decade in a row he has won at least half the Premier League titles and once he leaves you'll see the difference that he made as we're blatantly gonna fall apart like when Sir Matt Busby left. It's two totally different eras but he took the job to knock Liverpool off their pedestal and it looks if he can possibly do more than he dreamed of by overtaking their amount of titles but in football anything can happen as Liverpool are on top form at the moment.

You make some good points Nicky. I disagree about the quality of the Champions League though. It was still quite competitive and very open back 40 years ago, and up until a few years ago i'd have said the same. But now only the 4 English clubs, Barcelona, both the Milans and Juventus have a realistic chance of winning. I don't even know why the English clubs have started dominating all of a sudden either. It is most strange imo, up until 2005 for six years no English club ever really looked like winning it. Aside from maybe the year when Bayern Leverkusen got the final (2002/2003?).

The points you make about Fergie are quiet correct - he's made a legacy, but it initally took a very long time for this legacy to come off. I still stand by what I said earlier about him being very weak tactically. Just because you're the best side of paper, does not mean you are going to win every match. It was evidently clear from Saturday that some of the players just didn't treat Fulham with the respect they deserved (most notably Fulham). And again what you say when Fergie leaves is quite true. I honestly don't see who you are going to get to replace him. Whoever is your next manager is always going to be living in Fergie's shadow.

so you think Benitez's 11 men behind the ball tactics are effective?

We don't play with 11 men behind the ball. 10 maybe, but not 11. :D And they are quite effective yes, seeing as we can seeming play defensive football yet we've scored the most goals in the league this year thus far. So i'd say they are pretty effective yeah. Our time as winners of the league will come, I am sure enough of that.

Its gonna be fun watching you red scum c**ts collapse at the final hurdle and lose the title to Liverpool, hell I will even be happy to see us get the thrashing of our lives to give the right goal difference

After all the f***ing $h!t you have cauised Kyle I gonna gloat like never gloated before when the bindippers beat you to the title :D
