January 16, 200916 yr Tevez as good as Rooney? I think you're underestimating Rooney's influence on the team personally. I've always said that Rooney is our best and NOT Ronaldo hence why I'm not too bothered about the possibility of him leaving. But as much as Bolton have been a bogey side in the past I do still expect us to win that game and the only one who we might struggle with is Everton. Rooney has an influence through the whole team hence why if he keeps his aggressive in the game and less at the officials he's a United and England Captain. But I still want Tevez to stay as he always works hard for the team and does his job very well. Liverpool will certainly not be able to keep the dressing room in harmony while all this stuff about Rafa's contract is all over the place at the moment anyway. Real Madrid may have won more trophies but who have been the most consistant team in the three major leagues (English, Spain and Italy) and in Europe? Who's only not got to the knockout stages of the Champions League once in the past 15 years? Who's also the most well supported club in the world? If I wanted domestic and European honours at the moment I know where I'd go ;) I wouldn't want the second biggest club in the world to spend even more money they don't have!

If I wanted domestic and European honours at the moment I know where I'd go ;) I wouldn't want the second biggest club in the world to spend even more money they don't have! That's the thing about Rooney he can't control his agrression at the moment. Maybe it's because he's still got to learn when to keep his mouth shut but he's always disrespecting the referee. Yes I know referees are $h!t, and they often get things wrong, but this happens for all teams. So why can Rooney always get away with it? I think he's a good player, and Fergie obviously rates him highly but Man Utd base their play on Ronaldo everytime I see them. Without him they don't tick as well, a bit like Liverpool and Gerrard, and Arsenal and Fabregas. I don't believe for one moment that the Rafa stuff with his contract will upset the dressing room. Everyone at Liverpool knows Rafa can't stand Rick Parry, because he's a grade A twat. He's f***ed up so much it's unbelieveable, e.g. Gareth Barry. Also the transfers of Vidic and Simao, and i'm sure countless others too that have not been made public. Whilst I agree with what Rafa wants, he's a stubborn old person, and giving him the free roaming licence of sorting out contract issues and the like would cause a full on riot. So a line has to be drawn somewhere.
January 19, 200916 yr Author I'm absolutely gutted. Feels like a defeat. Hope we twat them on Sunday now, like we should have done tonight. I don't get the big panic though, yes it was a bad performance but Man Utd hardly set the world on fire against Bolton and Wigan.

January 19, 200916 yr Surely the title is off to United now, and to think I thought it was Chelsea's a few weeks back  United aren't playing great, but it doesn't really matter because they're winning games and everyone else seems to be slipping up quite a bit, they don't even need to get out of first gear so to speak at the moment
January 19, 200916 yr thing is kid above, we play like champions, cos that's what we are, we've had what, seven 1-0's in the league this season that's champions for you
January 19, 200916 yr Team P GD PTS 1 Man Utd 21 24 47 2 Liverpool 22 22 47 3 Chelsea 22 29 45 4 Aston Villa 22 13 44 5 Arsenal 22 13 41 6 Everton 22 4 36 Liverpool should forget about the title and focus on ensuring a Top 4 finish. It is completely Manchester United's to lose now as far as I'm concerned. They have the strongest squad; the best form and the easiest run in. The presure is all on the Mancs. Liverpool should forget about the title and do what Nick Faldo used to do when playing golf in his hey day ignore the Leaderboard until the end (the last hole). Liverpool were useless again tonight. Bar Gerrard & Carragher the rest might as well have stayed in and watched Big Brother (Was Robbie Keane on the pitch because he was about as invisible as the man marking for Cahill's 88th minute equalizer ...... and Torres first half miss was worse than Bent's yesterday....). Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful.
January 19, 200916 yr Author Well quite. But they won. Twice.... Yes exactly. If Man Utd win in the last minute they're "champions" - if Liverpool win in the last minute they're lucky. We're not in good form at the moment and i'm not even gonna deny it because it's completly true. I'm sick of Liverpool in the moment. Some players just look like they can't bottle the title challange and it's stupid because we do have enough talent to win the title, but tonight was just sickening. We should have won the game, but still. Robbie Keane can f*** off as well. I'm sick of defending Liverpool all the time because I like to criticse them where they go wrong, but i'm just sick to death of their being a constant Man Utd arse rape bash everywhere. Like I said above, if Man Utd play $h!t and win they're champions, whereas if Liverpool do it (which is what we did for large parts at the beginning, we're lucky). And it's COMPLETELY true. Some journo even went to the effort and made a huge article on what the table would look like if the games ended after 80 minutes. I'm just hoping Torres and Skrtel get back to match fitness soon, and some players just grow a bigger set of balls for the coming weeks. I'm hoping Rafa ditches Keane for the EPL and just plays 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard and Torres up top.
January 19, 200916 yr Author Robbie Keane's world-class according to CT lol He's f***ing bollocks. I couldn't give 2 $h!ts if we sold him for half the price we bought him for. Torres is always gonna be our first choice striker, and imo we should never play 4-4-2 anymore as it doesn't suit a LOT of our players.
January 20, 200916 yr Liverpool were laughable last night, a deserved point for Everton. I agree with TIP, far as im concerned the title is ours to lose.

I'm hoping Rafa ditches Keane for the EPL and just plays 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard and Torres up top. There's a huge difference between the two sides though and whilst it can be slightly hypocritical some of it is deserved. Man Utd battered Bolton at the weekend and deserved to win, you could argue that that's title form. Contrast this to Liverpool's recent match with Stoke. There was no domination, little creativity and Stoke gave as good as they got, if they were the worse side then it wasn't by much. If Liverpool had got a 90th minute winner in that it would have been lucky, well certainly more lucky that United's recent victories... I do kind of agree with Man Utd 'arse rape' and I don't like them, but from a neutral's perspective they seem such a better team than anyone else and tbh they probably deserve it. If they can beat Inter I could see them winning everything in one season, which would be remarkable... Edited January 21, 200916 yr by RabbitFurCoat
January 26, 200916 yr Nice to see Benitez his usual self... Beomaning Everton's tactics of defending a one goal lead. I can only assume he must have forgotten that only last monday when Liverpool were 1-0 up over Everton that he decided to take both of his strikers off in place of two midfielders!

I can only assume he must have forgotten that only last monday when Liverpool were 1-0 up over Everton that he decided to take both of his strikers off in place of two midfielders! I was pretty embarrased by his comments to be fair... it's a tactic we've used in the Champions League, as have Man Utd before. But at least we played with 1 striker up front, as opposed to playing 4-6-0. If Kuyt and Babel weren't so $h!te yesterday we'd have stuffed them. Both are out of form so badly and they need to buck up their ideas asap.

January 26, 200916 yr Author average players, so obviously their performances will be average I actually think both are decent players. Kuyt on his day can be brilliant. I can't think of a Liverpool player apart from Carra or Gerrard that works harder. Only problem is, when he's $h!t, be f***ing stinks. And Babel is a weird one. He shows glimpses of brilliance, but he's not willing to be a complete footballer and work for the team all the time imo. I think he's wasted on the left too.
February 25, 200916 yr We're nothing without Gerrard & Torres. :) Or .... I'd plump for the classic "Liverpool are an entirely different side when playing in Europe"
