January 12, 200916 yr Hmmm, interesting, I hadn't noticed that, thanks! I guess it just proves it's a strong music market right now! Actually, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean they all went in at 1, fell to 2, then to 3, or that they all mspent 3 weeks at number one?
January 12, 200916 yr i cant see her being at number one for 4 weeks. As soon as lily allens new single is out it'll go straight to no. 1. I think thats next week or the week after

Do you mean they all went in at 1, fell to 2, then to 3, or that they all mspent 3 weeks at number one? It means the first one spent one week at #1, then the next spent two weeks then the next one three weeks. Take That - 1 week Leona - 2 weeks Alex - 3 weeks Lady GaGa - 4 weeks(?) - doubtful Edited January 12, 200916 yr by Aaron™
January 12, 200916 yr Oh yeah. No, I don't think Lady Gaga will have four weeks at number one. Probably one more, then Lily. But Poker Face will me number one for 16 weeks (in my chart anyway!)

Well I hope Poker Face is not #1 for 10 weeks plus, I don't know why everyone is going gaga over her, she is nothing special, I don't like any of her music. I must be the only person on here. Prepares for flying handbags -_-
January 12, 200916 yr The 1976 No.1 was by Slik - not Silk. And the 1998 No.1 was by The Tamperer, not The Tamper. But, it is a very interesting 'Chart Fact', that you've spotted. Edited January 12, 200916 yr by zeus555

I've not heard Poker Face or any other of her tracks yet though. Oh, and "Dance" has just the one syllable.
January 13, 200916 yr 'Poker Face' is WAY over rated on here -_- It is BUT You love it really! I absolutely Love Poker Face, I think I get a bit carried away sometimes it's not as unique and different as people make out!

I'm still not sure if Lily can do it! I Really Really hope so, she is one of my favourite artists and I remember I was totally obsessed with the alright Still album :D The fear once again shows Lily's talent and shows she is definately a worthy number 1!
January 13, 200916 yr Its really just coincidence as with a lot of these weird ones: Chart records are more interesting, like the one below which was a record actually administered by Guinness in the old days but no-one seems to care about now but is amazing: Rihanna spent a whopping total of 129 weeks on the singles chart last year- that's around 2.5 songs in the chart every week of the year. This is close to the record set by Oasis of 134 weeks in a calender year in the 90s She has also taken 8 singles off of an album (albeit with a deluxe re-release), is this a female record? (I believe Michael Jackson has done more with Thriller). She also appeared on a 9th single with T.I. (although not included on her album unless it is re-re-reloaded ) although only 5 were released in 2008, this could also be a female record. Comments welcome, anyone know any other big runs or the top act for each year? Rundown: Umbrella 19 weeks (of total 51 by end of 2008) Shut Up and Drive 2 (21) Don't Stop the Music 31 (34) Hate that i love you 8 (19) Take a Bow 22 (22) If i never see your face again (with Maroon 5) 11 (11) Disturbia 24 (24) Live Your Life (with T.I.) 7 (7) Rehab (with Justin Timberlake) 5 (5)
January 13, 200916 yr this is another thing I miss about Guinness Hit Singles, the facts they provided about things like most weeks on charts in a calendar year. I didn't realise Rihanna had managed so many weeks - 129 in a year is amazing. Oasis took their entire back catalogue to achieve it, Rihanna managed it with her current output (ie no old singles re-entering well after dropping off the charts). I think Timbaland managed over 100 weeks in 2007.
January 14, 200916 yr Well I hope Poker Face is not #1 for 10 weeks plus, I don't know why everyone is going gaga over her, she is nothing special, I don't like any of her music. I must be the only person on here. Prepares for flying handbags -_- ur not the only one mart!n - just dance is ok but nothing great!
January 14, 200916 yr 'Poker Face' is WAY over rated on here -_- Well, what do you expect - any vaguely half-decent song comes along, and suddenly it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. And I have experience of this - I absolutely dispise I Kissed A Girl, and some people were treating it like it was the best thing that ever happened.
