Bit of an insult to poor Courteney there! I think she's replacing Lauren Graham (from Girlmore Girls) who pulled out due to the part being too minimal but I'm not sure.

 

Apparently there's a lot of MAJOR DRAMA going down at the studio and they're steering the film into really crappy territory. If rumours are to be believed they've dumbed down the script and several of the characters, Neve and Hayden have both kicked up a fuss and want out, and they thought the original storyline wasn't mainstream enough and have simplified it. Because audiences are so dumb obviously.

aww :( i want it to be a great movie, it deserves a great script and wont be right without Neve.

 

i would rather have Lauren, she is just :wub: and is/was she not dating Matthew Perr, Courteney's 'husband'?

Is there trouble at the Scream 4 mill? Or are the usual comings and goings of a Hollywood production getting blown out of proportion?

 

Here's what we know so far. Screenwriter Ehren Kruger (Scream 3, Transformers: ROFL) has been brought in to tinker with Kevin Williamson's script, while actress Lauren Graham has left the production. Two questions then: 1) Where is Williamson? and 2) What happened to Graham?

 

There are differing answers. Zap2it, who broke the story, reported that Williamson has walked away from Ghostface and co entirely (calling into question the rest of the projected new trilogy), and that Graham, disgusted with her reduced role in Scream 4 Kruger-style, quit in high dudgeon. According to this version of events, Hayden Panettiere is also "beyond frustrated" at the whittling and dumbing down of her own role.

 

But a sceptical Shocktillyoudrop got in touch with "a source close to the production", who reassured them that Williamson is still intimately involved with the series, but is simply busy at this very moment with his commitments to the second season of The Vampire Diaries. Kruger, according to this version, was just available at short notice for touch-ups, and Graham, like Williamson, was forced to pull out due to her own scheduling conflicts: in her case with the Parenthood TV series.

 

The voice of reason or damage limitation? Williamson's involvement with Scream 3 was reduced due to similar TV obligations (at that time to Roswell) and there's not yet any published evidence to suggest a falling out with the production. Then again, he's not been using his Twitter account to deny anything. Significant?

 

Marielle Jaffe Facebooked yesterday that "filming has been going great! We are so lucky to be in the hands of the mastermind, Wes Craven! Genius!" And we'd be surprised if Craven himself, not a fan of Scream 3 and quite equivocal about Scream 4 before his involvement was secured, must have received some pretty serious reassurances from the Weinsteins before he came aboard. But then again, there's the rather ominous Craven tweet, "I have not been given control of the script."

 

It's Independence Day weekend in the States, so they're all at the beach right now, but expect some official statements and updates shortly..."

Hmmm it could all just be blown out of proportion and there's little wrong with it. But then that could be wishful thinking because I'm such a huge fan of Scream, it just can't be another simple, dumb horror film. :( The first was really clever and witty I thought, the 2nd was as well ... the 3rd one was where it went wrong, whilst it was still a good film, it was dumbed down alot. Here's hoping it's more like the first two rather than the third.

 

Got a feeling it'll either be amazing and surpass people's expectations or it'll be really dumb and flop hardcore style. We'll see, fingers crossed and all that.

The Weinstein's meddling is blamed for how the third film turned out, and it's looking like they are doing it again.

She does it so well, was watching the 3rd one last night. When she pushes herself and the killer down the stairs :heart:

I very much doubt she is, far too obvious for either her, Dewey or Sidney to be it.

 

Also Woodsboro is now gonna be embracing the killings and Gale is supposed to be trying to get into some ghost - face themed

party so that is why she has the mask.

i don't buy it, she could easily mean that's where the film opens after the opening credits the start of the main storyline.

Yeah I agree, still interesting if it was true though. I hope it isn't true though, I love the original cast too much! :(

i dont buy it either she could have meant thats where the main plot kicks off after a death of someone else or they may not open with a death scene like the others they may want something new!

I'm actually excited and it's kind of coincidental that I have just watched the first movie for the first time (and now watching the second) :o

No it isn't official, it's fan made. :P But I think it looks amazing anyway tbh. Agree about the three main characters being too small though. :(

I'd rather it happened in the end of the whole story. But keep Courtney alive plz. <3

I'm really worried about Sid, I doubt they will killer her though. She may just love that dress? Courteney has only been in 3 outfits so far.

Besides, Sid did not appear so much in the 3rd one. She only has about 2 outfits.
