June 14, 200619 yr it definitly wont affect the first single she releases,,after that i dont know as im sure kylie would be far more depending on phyisical sales,,,as i big kylie fan i wouldnt even think of downloading it would be all phyisocal purchases for me,,,i like to have the proper cd,,the proper sleeve etc,,,,its also is nicer in the collection
June 14, 200619 yr Author Yeah i agree. I prefer to buy. Then again I believe in you when that was released. It was one in the top downloads of that year which is amazing. Yet giving you up did terrible. So record companies have to be careful what they release.
June 14, 200619 yr true i believe in you and giving you up did so opposite in terms of download sales,,,i would do download until i gte my hands on the phyisical thats the only thing i like about downloads they fill the gap while i wait for the real thing
June 16, 200619 yr I think downloads are really improving the charts. I think if a song is a big download success then without a doubt it will be a physical success too, it seems if a song is good enough to appeal to outside the artist's fanbase it will be downloaded and that will make it a huge hit. However, this also means that if a song doesn't capture the imagination of people outside of an artist's fanbase, it will be a small success. So I suppose what I'm saying is, if Kylie releases 4 or 5 fantastic singles (which VERY rarely happens) then downloads will not hinder her success at all. On the other hand, all it takes nowadays is one uninspired track to end a run of Top 10 or even Top 20 hits - so she needs to be more consistent with her releases. Her first will be HUGE without a doubt, her others might not fare too well.
June 16, 200619 yr im positive the new material will be strong all round and to be fair overall kylie singles are fairly consistent,,well they are to me,,she has alot of strong fantastic singles since the light years comeback

June 16, 200619 yr 3 and 4th singles by sugababes missed the top 10 a few times,,and after all push the button and ugly was the first time they had 2 back to back top5 hits so they wouldnt be teh strongest arguement,,robbie williams was an example of late,,i know over all not everyone liekd the song but he had the fanbase to make him top 10 status with every release bar one of his older hits south of the border

Robbie, Mariah, Sugababes, Kelly Clarkson - all huge artists who a year ago would've achieved two or three albums of Top 10 hits, without one single missing the Top 10. And recently, ALL of them have suffered a huge flop, which I put mainly down to downloads (with the exception of Sugababes possibly). Kylie needs an album full of Top 3 smashes to ensure they all go Top 10, a single such as 'Come Into My World' which made #8 at the time might not even make Top 15 in today's chart! :o
June 16, 200619 yr I don't think it will affect her too badly, Kylie is a universally adored artist who a lot of people love so she'll get more downloads, whereas Dannii's main sales come from a fanbase so that's where she struggles when downloads come into play...
June 16, 200619 yr well alot of that is to do with the huge gaps in dannii's releases so she could never keep momentum going,,she didnt do as much public appearances as kylie and dannii has been rumoured to be not th enicest person to meet in real like,,kylie however is the opposite and the public seem to take to her alot easier
June 16, 200619 yr I think the rumours about Dannii not being a nice person are c**p, she seems lovely in all the interviews and TV appearances I've seen on her, although I haven't met her personally (yet...), but I think she's lovely.
July 10, 200619 yr the downloads have really made the charts very different and its great that alot of the singles are in with a good chance of climbing in the charts,before downloads where you entered was your peak, i dont think downloads will affect kylie that muuch when she starts releasing again
July 10, 200619 yr I think downloads with either have a positive effect on her, or not one at all. I don't think they will have a negative effect because unlike Dannii, she's well known!

July 10, 200619 yr Yep, totally agree! Kylie has massive backings by tabloids, which will promote her single no end. I think her first single will be a number one hit, even if the song isn't amazing!
