The British government has pledged to give a further £20m in humanitarian aid to crisis-torn Gaza.

Is it correct that he should be sending your money to Gaza, especially as we have huge financial problems in the UK at the moment?

Or should we always take the humanitarian ground and help where we can?

If you lost your job tomorrow would you be happy to see taxpayers money go to this part of the world, considering we have already promised to send £10m since the conflict started?

I'm just wondering where Brown is finding all this money for all his bail outs etc, has he been hiding it down the sofa in number 10?

well no actually, in this instance i dont think we should be aiding a nation which is at war. the bottom line is that if hezbala (or however you spell it) didnt continuously fire rockets into israel, the israelis wouldnt have had justification to attack them. im not fan of israel, but tbh they had to end the rocket attacks.

Are you suggesting that the world should let Gaza stew in its own juice and let innocents starve to death because some fanatical militants with or without the tacit support of the legitimate government) are determined to continue firing rockets into a neighbouring country? I can't countenance that.

Firstly, in a warzone there is little chance of humanitarian aid reaching those who need it. At the moment it's Israeli boots on the ground. IMHO they should be morally responsible for the welfare of the people who live in the areas they hold.

Egypt is heavily involved in brokering peace, humanitarian aid for all should be part of those negotiations and written into any agreement so that Hamas cannot wriggle out of it and spend time and money re-arming instead.

im suggesting the fault lies with the militants who use residential areas in which to wage war.... the leaders of that organisation should stop it. the blood of their countrymen lay in their hands.

With all their technology, the Americans found out during the Iraqi war that it isn't all that easy to find and destroy all mobile rocket launchers.

In Gaza the problem is compounded because the government have never made any strong statements condemning the practice. There is no political will to stop it.

However, any attempt to oust Hamas would be bloody and could set alight the whole Middle East.

Predictably I say absolute NO, this situation is of the Palestinians own making, 126 rockets were fired into Israel before they retalliated, no country would stand by and allow themselves to be attacked, sure any civillian loss of life is a shame but the blood is well and truly on the hands of Hamas and it is a situation of Palestine's own making as they put Hamas into power with a massive majority, you reap what you sew
