Finally Joss Whedons latest project gets its TV premiere (Albeit on FOX) on Feb 13th :cheer: Starring Eliza Dushku as the lead, Echo  and also some may recognise Dichen Lachman who used to be in Neighbours as Katya Kinski. Its being described as the most original series of the year and the promos look amazing. I shall be watching online the very next day

This does all sound very cool - it'll work fantastically or not at all I think.

Here's hoping for fantastic! I'll watch...

I think it will work. I think there will be a few shakey episodes but it will be amazing overall but for some reason i cant help but think it will have the same fate as Firefly :(
I don't know anything about this but the buzz it's getting has made me want to watch it. Mainly cuz it's from Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku.
Looking forward to this, I hear Sky 1 have got the rights to it now.

Christ knows why on earth Whedon would even want to work with these w/ankers at Fox after the hatchet job they did on Firefly.... <_< I like Joss Whedon, he created the two most vital, totally unmissable shows of the late-90s/early 00s (Buffy and Angel), me and some friends of mine used to meet up every Friday night for the Buffy/Angel double feature on Sky, we made a bit of a social occasion of it, dinner parties, wine, the works....

Anyway, this looks really good, and I'm a big fan of Eliza Dushku, so, it's all good, here's hoping that Fox don't bloody well SABOTAGE it like they did with Firefly..... <_<

It's a pity that Joss doesn't work with Alyson Hannigan or Nick Brendon again though....

Tbf Alyson Hannigan is doing brilliantly on How I Met Your Mother and ive heard that Whedon is considering making a Buffy film since Twilight is doing so well.

Nevermind Whedon working with FOX im surprised Eliza wants to... Especially after Tru Calling... (A movie should be made just to let everyone know how bloody ends :( thats all i want :()

This is one show I am very interested in! Though I'll probs watch online as I only have Freeview...

Joss Whedon has a brilliant mind, that is evident from the superb writing of him and his team on Buffy/Angel. They are two of the best shows ever broadcast on television imo and I love Eliza Dushku as well. I hear Amy Acker is also involved [she played Fred in Angel].

I think it looks pretty good. The critics have been fairly lukewarm on the reviews of the pilot so far... but it's best to take them with a pinch of salt really.

I reckon if Dollhouse is going to get a 2nd season then it needs to develop a cult status, and still manage to attract casual viewers. It's been put it a notoriously BAD timeslot.

^Shocking for FOX to do that to a Joss Whedon/Eliza Dushku effort

What timeslot is it on?

The critics were hardly 'warm' to Buffy when it first started either..... So, you're correct, pinch of salt time....

Buffy survived a fairly dodgy first season reception because Fox at the time had more people who believed in the potential of good shows, and were more willing to let things gather momentum (which seasons 2 and 3 superbly accomplished..), had Buffy been around now, I believe it would've gone the same way as so many others have done, because of negativity.... Firefly failed because of the attitudes of the network, and shows that have been perfectly good have suffered because of the growing negativity of the networks....

Dollhouse will, I fear, fall victim to the negativity and short-sightedness that exists within the US networks today.....

I thought FOX was on Warner Bros.? Or did it move there later?

To be fair to FOX though, I think they're trying to re-brand the Friday night slot. Sarash Connor Chronicles has been moved to Friday at 8, and Dollhouse at 9 so it's a sci-fi fans ideal night really. Also i'm pretty sure that the X-Files really took off in the Friday 9pm slot during the bad econmic crisis in the early 90s...

TBH they did bloody well to establish Buffy on just 12 episodes. The 2nd and 3rd seasons are just flawless so I'm glad that it was given the chance. I hope 'Dollhouse' has the same opportunity. Though I have no idea what it'll be like yet and wheter it'll even have a big enough mythology or such to be able to survive multiple seasons.

Fox are taking advantage of the fact that The Sarah Connor Chronicles is on right before it. But once again, they are advertising it wrong just like every other Dushku project they have :(
