Thanks Joao! I will watch it tomorrow night! :D

Second episode was ok...not great...just ok.

Regarding the ratings...I've heard that it's been pretty poorly promoted and I think Friday night isn't a great night for a new show.

^I agree about the second episode... It wasnt better than the first and i think the parts that were supposed to "thrill" you were poorly put together but at the same time you still want to watch and see what happens... I give it a 6/10...

I don't even think I can be arsed with watching the 2nd episode.

I didn't think the 1st episode was that good really, and now everyone on here are saying it's worse than the 1st. The 2nd episode got like 4.22 million viewers, so it only lost 0.5 million really from the Pilot which isn't that bad.

Hopefully the ratings will pick up like they did with Fringe.

I do recommend you watch.. I think it sets up a plot for the season nicely

Dollhouse has generated plenty of headlines over the last year, with numerous delays and rumours of artistic differences between creator Joss Whedon and the Fox network. Now that the original pilot has been ditched and a new one assembled, the series has finally hit the airwaves over in the States - but is it worth the wait?

Fans of Buffy and Firefly will be fully aware that when the words 'Written and Directed by Joss Whedon' flash up on the screen at the start of any given episode, it's a surefire sign of quality. Sadly, this is not the case for Whedon's handling of the opening Dollhouse episode, which is largely an uninvolving mess. It's hard not to feel like a passive bystander to the onscreen events, such is the lack of any compelling dramatic hook, and the show looks like little more than an excuse for lead Eliza Dushku to play dress-up and make believe.

The former Buffy star plays Echo, an operative for a mysterious, non-government agency called Dollhouse, who frequently has her mind partially wiped and new personas and memories implanted for the sake of a new 'engagement'. Later on, an FBI Agent investigating the Dollhouse suggests that this identity erasure is tantamount to murder. An interesting premise on paper, but the pre-credits scenes - so vital in the structure of a pilot episode and selling the show - fails to sufficiently build up the intrigue. The rest of the show is hardly an improvement.

A cryptic chat between Echo and her stiff upper-lipped boss (Olivia Williams) opens proceedings and hints at a compelling backstory. Yet then we're quickly whisked off to a couple of painfully long sequences featuring Echo racing round on a motorbike and dancing around to Lady GaGa on a dancefloor with the man of her dreams. These happy memories are soon erased when her team extracts her from her location.

The problem here, and the rest of the episode, is that there's no reason to care for Echo's predicament or fate. A few hints about her and the 'Dollhouse' organisation's circumstances are thrown in along the way, but are simply not compelling enough to hook viewers into the on-screen events. Alongside failing to successfully establish the show's premise, a self-contained story featuring the abduction of a 12 year-old girl fails to impress.

It all feels rather laboured as Echo, in her new guise as the facilitator of the exchange of the girl for the $5 million ransom, has guns pointed at her and has some painful childhood memories (not hers) come back to haunt her and help her tackle the kidnappers. Again, this is all depicted in such a subdued and undramatic manner that it's hard to greet these developments with more than a shrug. Where is the wit and punch so abundant in Buffy?

Dollhouse throws up plenty of questions, but fails to make us crave answers in the same manner that a vaguely similar show like Alias managed to do in the space of its opening few minutes. It's early days for Joss Whedon's new show and it deserves time to develop and expand upon its central ideas, but the omens are not good given its soulless opener. One can't help but wonder how vastly superior the original pilot that Fox rejected is.

DIGITALSPY

They gave it two stars out of 5... Its not THAT bad...

I've watched the first two, and really enjoyed both of them really. I don't see why anyone would find any need to be as negative as in that review. Some great editing, and great performance from Olivia Williams.

I think what I like the most about it, is that it doesn't even seem that unlikely. That sounds stupid, but the rate technology develops, you can easily imagine something like this becoming possible - and that makes it even more relevant, especially the ethical issues raised in ep 1.

HUGE improvement from the second IMO... The second half of the episode is v. good compared to the first half. I cant wait to see where they go with this... Rayna's monologue when they are in the dressing room is just :o really nice writing mr Whedon!

EDIT: Just saw the trailer for episode 4, FOX are REALLY bad at promoting shows its horrible :(

This weeks ep was ok...Next week's looks a lot more promising IMO. I think they need to get moving with the big over arching stories now. The formula for the episodes is quickly getting tedious.

I'm looking forward to this though:

Question: Do you have any Dollhouse tidbits? --Jenni

Ausiello: The show's mythology will really start to unfold on April 3 when, through a series of flashbacks, we learn who Echo was and the underlying "why" and "how" she ended up being lured into the Dollhouse.

THR: Can “Terminator” or “Dollhouse” financially make sense as broadcast shows next season if their ratings don’t improve?

Reilly: Advertisers have liked the shows. Both shows are doing well on a c7 basis. It’s too early to rule them out.

The Hollywood Reporter

Anyway, this looks really good, and I'm a big fan of Eliza Dushku, so, it's all good, here's hoping that Fox don't bloody well SABOTAGE it like they did with Firefly..
This sounds like a show I'd be interested in, but alas it hasn't aired here yet. Knowing my luck it'll probably be a few more months till we get it here in Oz.

Very impressed with this weeks episode ^_^ Definitely opens up some mysteries and leaves some questions. Especially the

Sleeper Active

did not expect that at all! The action scenes were very well constructed this week ^_^

Yeah, lots happened this week...it was great! The "news" scenes left a cheesy taste in my mouth though. The show is definately shaping up to be really good.

Fox has scrapped the final episode of Dollhouse, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The network has scheduled the season finale 'Omega' - the twelfth episode - for May 8 but has cut the planned final episode, 'Epitaph One'.

Producer Tim Minear said via Whedonesque that the missing episode will definitely be on the Dollhouse DVD.

"Because we scrapped the original pilot, we really ended up with 12 episodes," said Minear. "But the studio makes DVD and other deals based on the original 13 number, so we created a standalone kind of coda episode which is the mythical new episode 13.

"The network had already paid for 13 episodes, and this included the one they agreed to let us scrap for parts. We always knew it would be for the DVD for sure, but we also think Fox should air it because it's awesome."

Earlier this year, reports suggested that the show had not performed well in the ratings.

I see a Tru Calling fate for this show :(

Its getting really good as well!! Stupid FOX
