January 30, 200916 yr :o I was looking at them the other day thinking they could be a cool and different group for Dalisska to send........it's not the one with the unicorn is it? :kink: yes! I first heard this song a couple of months ago (maybe longer) and thought that it was excellent, but forgot all about it I re-discovered it the other day when searching for Love Song on youtube, and thought it would be a perfect entry...the video is a bit odd shall we say, but I'm not immune to sending songs with ridiculous videos[/headhunted] at the moment, it's the front runner to be my entry as I love it slightly more than the other two
January 30, 200916 yr Why hasn't DJ Earworm been reserved as (my) Nonsuch's entry for BJSC XIV? tragically yet understandably it would seem you're not allowed to send it :(
January 30, 200916 yr tragically yet understandably it would seem you're not allowed to send it :( Why? DJ Earworm has never competed in the competition before. Or are mash ups containing 25 separate song samples not allowed? At the very least I deserved a PM to notify me with a reson why it has been (is being) disqualified, because it has not broken an rules. Because no rules had been written to take account of mash ups!. Whilst the same sample has been used twice by two separate entries in BJSC history so I thought it was fair game.

I'm sorry for not PM'ing you, but considering the posts following the entry, and the fact that confirmation doesn't close for weeks, I hope that it isn't too earth-shattering. It's actually 3 previous BJSC entries (Love Song, So What and I Kissed A Girl), and since alternative versions of previous entries aren't allowed, I would think that includes covers, live versions, remixes, different languages and indeed mash-ups. EDIT: I may be over-ruled by Trash on this, but until such a time, it's not reserved. Edited January 30, 200916 yr by Peter30
January 30, 200916 yr I'd like to unreserve Eva & The Heartmaker and Laura Izibor and reserve Janet (not Jackson, a Swedish lady) my current reservations are: Uh Huh Her and Janet indecisiveness for the win!

You missed two of the other former BJSC tracks that were sampled in that track. In that case, out of the trojan horse comes: Nonsuch BJSC XIV provisional entry: PCsMnF34wns DJ Earworm - No More Gas :D

January 30, 200916 yr Really? Must have been before my time I suppose! They were. No One (I) & Don't Stop The Music (II)
January 30, 200916 yr Author Another issue with the DJ Earworm mash-ups is all the artists involved in them (including Rihanna who has already been reserved). and it is the same debate as entering multi-artist charity singles. The issue of mash-ups does need to be addressed for future contests, but I'll provisionally reserve DJ Earworm for you.
January 30, 200916 yr Rihanna has already been reserved by Jon hasn't she? Which I thought meant you can't neter any songs with her in

As effectively DJ Earworm has 'sampled' loads of songs and put them all together. For instance if someone had confirmed the new Hilary Duff single would someone else be able to reserve Depeche Mode?
January 30, 200916 yr Rihanna has already been reserved by Jon hasn't she? Which I thought meant you can't neter any songs with her in  But I reserved DJ Earworm first. Before Jon reserved Rihanna. So Nonsuch should not loose out.

Well in BJSC VII Ashton - Red Blooded Women - Colour Me Dirty & Torchwood - Saturdays - If This Is Love were both allowed to compete despite BOTH sampling 1980s synth pop duo Yazoo to much greater detail than DJ Earworm who has used 25 samples to create that wonderful song collage that I want to enter.

That is a fair point though Kardinal Offishall/Akon - Dangerous has been sent before. :P Edited January 30, 200916 yr by Angelic Shine
January 30, 200916 yr Thinking of sending this - the competition needs a bit of variety ;) eaXRYToVbmc (excuse the lack of video for now)
