6 weeks is a long time in BJSC terms and a lot of people were eager to see something happen after XIII anyway...

Me too to be honest. It's the first one so I can see large numbers taking part and forgetting to confirm entries for XIV! As long as it can end a few days before official confirmation closes then I'm happy.

 

If it gets the go-ahead we can open official confirmation straight away can't we? Have that for a few days and then a final / semis depending on the numbers.

I don't like this spin-off idea... The BJSC is as popular as ever as it is, so I see little point in altering anything at all. Would just complicate things. Things are better as they are, and having two contests in a month is just bleh. I'll not be entering any spin-off ones anyway!

 

For this normal BJSC anyway I would like to reserve Jade Ewen please Peter.

Well goodelta, id rather everyone be happy with the choice of spinoff, so id leave it open to a poll. Obviously my prime choices would be cheap/foreign/male, but as peter said males are becoming everly popular in the main contest...

 

Oh, and in response to tom, it couldeasily happen, im a quick kinda guy :P but obviously the decision would need making sooner rather than later... i dont think this would overshadow XIV at all tbh as long as it's handled correctly...

yes I agree, it by no means is supposed to overshadow XIV...if anything it will be the other way round with XIV overshadowing the spin off like the Best Of was overshadowed by planning for XI/XII

there we go then! and then we it could be done and dusted well in time before the official XIV confirmation thread closes...personally I'd be very intrigued to try one of these spin offs...I'm not trying to tread on Peter's toes by suggesting it before XIV, it just fits in logistically if we were to have 2 spin-offs plus the best of and 10 contests...if it becomes apparent at any point that it is overkill by having so many contests, we can just scrap the idea of the second spin-off and leave it until this time next year
