We could even make it an "unofficial taster" type thing - we may as well since XIV is going to be around a week later than planned anyway.

 

A limit could even be put on the number of countries entering so we can be sure the voting will be done and dusted within a week. First come first served type thing.

I don't think everybody plans to enter it anyway, Bhangra have ruled themselves out and there will always be people who don't like the theme/just aren't interested

these are some rough dates that could fit around it to accomodate a couple of spin offs plus the ten contests and the best of, making 13 things in all instead of the planned 12!?! It wouldn't clash with Eurovision which is what some people are worried about as that is in mid-may...

 

XIII: Done

Spin Off: mid-feb

XIV: early March

XV: early-April

XVI: early May

XVII: early June

Spin Off: late June

XVIII: mid July

XIX: mid-late August

XX: mid-late Septmeber

Best Of II: mid-late October

XXI: mid-late November

XXII: mid-late December

 

and for those worried that the spin-off will be overshadowed by XIV, whenever we do it this will happen...for example if we did it in May, it would be overshadowed by planning for the June BJSC

exactly :D we don't need the spin off around ESC...it will only impact on you by the sounds of it...I can quite easily fit in ESC and BJSC, I will have already finished listening to the songs by late March when they are all confirmed!

there we go then! and then we it could be done and dusted well in time before the official XIV confirmation thread closes...personally I'd be very intrigued to try one of these spin offs...I'm not trying to tread on Peter's toes by suggesting it before XIV, it just fits in logistically if we were to have 2 spin-offs plus the best of and 10 contests...if it becomes apparent at any point that it is overkill by having so many contests, we can just scrap the idea of the second spin-off and leave it until this time next year

if so, don't do the second one and just leave a bigger gap between other contests...easy solution

Can I just ask, WHY are we only getting three reservations? :( We had no problem with five last month and I'm considering quite a few artists: Rosanna - Gameboy, Daniela - Push It Up, Jeanette - Undress To The Beat and The New Sins - Feelings Have Changed. God knows how I shall decide which to not reserve :/
