BTW, there aren't as much GaGa haters as Sats haters so she actually gets a stick from guests. :D

Lady GaGa isn't much better, she's just a "revitalized Cher".

Anyway, Just Can't Get Enough is, by most standards, a fluffy insubstantial song, and all the better for that it is too.

Which is why like when Girls Aloud covered the Pointer Sisters 1984 hit Jump; their cover of Depeche Mode's first ever top 10 hit could turn out to be an inspired move and be really good.

As there will be more potential to improve on the original than if they had covered one of DM's most loved songs like Enjoy The Silence.

Still this is all speculation & hot air until the single is played on Monday(?)

You gotta be kidding me. You may keep your opinion but the words "revatailsed Cher" really is just plain wrong... <_<

Wash your mouth out. :o

Nah, as older music fans have observed (when younger internet bloggers were claiming Christina Aguilera was ripping off Lady GaGa with Xtina's single from her hits Best Of Compiliation), she is clearly "inspired" image wise by Blondie's Deborah Harry:

Blondie - The Hardest Part (1980)

Deborah Harry is another one ^, but I believe she's (LadyGaGa) has pointed out many times that she's a major influence on her image style.

And David Bowie:

The thing about GaGa is that, to my knowledge, she has never claimed to be especially original, just not manufactured - so I'm baffled as to why all of the e-loons are jumping on their high horse the moment somebody suggests she's unoriginal (not that that's a dig at anyone in here). She IS unoriginal, she's a hybrid of many a past popstar, it just isn't a negative thing because she makes great music.

ANYWAY as TiP has said, no need to slam this until we hear it. I am fearful but at the same time it could be great.

There really is no need to be SO rude/awful about them  Repeating the word t***** in accompanyment with various other insults isn't particularly impressive...

They're lovely-looking girls:

the one on the left looks like a convincing-ish sex-change... the one on the right - total t***** material. The blonde one's sexy, though...a pearl amongst swine, methinks.

And I know I've said it before... but these girls seriously need a decent stylist.... it's like they've let Stevie Wonder loose with a credit card in a Top Shop clearance sale.....

As for GaGa.... yes, she's reminiscent of many, many great pop stars from the past - and she does is frickin' brilliantly. Attitude-filled and sassy as hell... I like her a lot... and thank GOD! A pop star with an opinion of her own and a canny knack for cool.

More than any of the other popstrels of the past 10 years lining up to take Madonna's toppling crown..... she's absolutely the one to do it if she can develop her style for the next album... which I'm sure she will.

Tell me Frankie isn't beautiful :/ ....

the only other remotely attractive one is the Posh-wannabe 2nd from right (she's surely been practising her Posh stare in the mirror).... and the sexy blonde looks like a vampier Sienna Miller.

But in all honesty.... in those awful, awful clothes.... even the most beautiful girl would look tacky.

The blonde one (Mollie) is definitely my favourite member of the group, she's gorgeous and has a totally lovely personality. She's far from the best vocally though...

That's Frankie :kink: and I agree with Aly. Mollie is definetly the best member, probabaly the 2nd weakest singer but by far has the nicest personality and charisma

I'm confused, all I keep hearing is that the Comic Relief single for this year is Islands In The Stream, a clip of the video was played on Jonathon Ross show last night and this is on Robin Gibb's web page. I suppose this means that there'll be two singles again then?

Comic Relief single Islands in the Stream

This year's Comic Relief single is a cover version of the Bee Gees' Islands In The Stream. Rob Brydon (Bryn) and Ruth Jones (Nessa) from TV’s Gavin & Stacey are duetting on the charity single. Robin Gibb appears in the video of the Comic Relief remake and also sings backing vocals, alongside Tom Jones. The single is released in Britain by Mercury Records on March 9th. The Gibb-penned Islands in the Stream was a number one hit for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton in 1983 and again in 1998 for Pras Michel (Ghetto Supastar). Check back soon for more details and a media clip.

 what a nice way to start the day, a good old belly laugh courtesy of russ! :)

gotta agree about their stylist.

Totally agree Russ... Sometimes clothes do maketh the man or woman.....

How much nicer and classier they would look in nice, well cut dresses, or these lovely silk Chinese dresses, they seem skinny enough like most Chinese girls are... What they wear just now just makes them look either ridiculous, or cheap and vulgar.....

Nope, Cher's "dance" stuff was annoying and plain sh!t, and pretty obviously an act of desperation on her part, because her whole "rock chick" act was wearing thinner than an anorexic supermodel.....

Ga Ga is clearly better than Cher, and obviously about a thousand times better than The Saturdays.... True, there's nothing particularly "original" in what she does, but she's clearly not been manufactured, can write her own material (as well as material for others), has a talent for producing as well, so, I would say, if anything, she's a "revitalized Madonna".... There's a very BIG difference between The Sats and GaGa, one is a totally manufactured group who dont appear to have any influences or inspiration of their own (hence their producers and managers plundering this or that from the 80s, I sure know what the influences of The Saturdays' management and production team are.... ), the other is a self-made artist who uses her influences (and they are HER influences) extremely well to create her own myth... No, her music isn't original in that sense, but it's certainly her attitude and personality which comes through in the songs...

You say Coldplay have bored everyone, yet you're talking up DEPECHE MODE? When was the last time they did anything interesting? Walking In My Shoes from 1993?

Jesus, are you for real.....? As Russ said, you obviously completely missed "Ultra" in 1997, and then "Playing The Angel" a few years back... Not to mention Gahan's bloody good solo album from last year, and the reasonable solo effort from Martin Gore...... "Exciter" was a bit of damp squib, granted, not particularly interesting apart from a few tracks, but really, I do think you're talking rubbish here.....

Or maybe you're just one of these DM fans who couldn't handle them being a bit more "serious" about their music..... Well, as I see it, DM totally grew as artists and knew damn fine that they couldn't just continue down the same old synth pop route.... It must amuse them ever-so-slightly to see all these acts from today totally ripping them off though, not to mention doing covers of one of their poorer, more musically basic tracks.....

Still, I sure as hell would rather it was a poorer DM track, than something that's actually great of theirs that's potentially going to be ruined..... I've never quite forgiven Marilyn Manson for what he did to "Personal Jesus", and I was a big fan of MM up til that point, after that, I just lost a lot of respect for the dude..... Mind you, his equally sh!t cover of "Tainted Love" probably made his case even worse....

Una and Vanessa's clothing in that pic is rather dodgy i suppose but other than that, i cant see anything wrong with what the other three are wearing.

IMHO The Sats are at present better dressed than the Sugababes and Girls Aloud (certainly GA) were when they started out. Not that how they are dressed is all that important anyway.
