April 25, 200916 yr Yeah, "Never Ever" is good, but it's nowhere near the best on the album. "Work" is just ridiculously hot. It's got a real futuristic vibe to it. This has got to smash. I can't stop listening to it. "Pucker Up" is another great one. Great beat, with some killer lyrics. I love Keri, but that's high level swagger right there. Those two, "High Price" and "Keep Dancin' On Me" are the stand-outs, for me. There is some real filler crap on here though. "Ciara To The Stage", "I Don't Remember" and "Like a Surgeon" suck hard. The rest is average-good. Overall, I'm quite impressed. It's probably her most appealing album to date.
April 25, 200916 yr Love Sex Magic - A definate grower but awful first single choice :( 8/10 How can you say that? It was the only chance she had of getting a hit.
April 25, 200916 yr I'm saying its a crap song comepared to half the album, like had she released Work/Pucker Up or whatever before NE/LSM/GG I'm sure they would have had success, in these circumstances however it was probably one of the best choices.
April 25, 200916 yr I didn't like I Don't Remember at first but it grows on me everytime and I find it beautiful now
April 26, 200916 yr Author Well Jark, get ready to weep as you are wrong boy. Ciara confirmed 'Work' as the next single on her Twitter.
April 26, 200916 yr Yay great choice, should definately be Tell Me What Your Name is afterwards though. She needs a hit by herself.
April 26, 200916 yr I'd probably be more inclined to like it if my mum didn't used to play the Simply Red version of the song it rips the chorus from practically every morning before school. It's tainted the song for me. :( I expect it's acceptable if you haven't been over-exposed to Mick Hucknall. I'll be interested in seeing if that's true. I think she's a bit weak to carry off a proper ballad, give me "1, 2 Step", "Love Sex Magic" or "Goodies" any day. ("Like A Boy" is amaze too but that's a bit in the middle...) Judging by the songs you mentioned, definitely listen to 'Work' and 'Pucker Up'. They're very up-tempo 'bangers' and are both brilliant - I think you'd like them. Work is SOOO good. No doubt my favourite off the album!
April 26, 200916 yr my mate dowloaded this so going to wait to see what he thinks as i only really liked LSM from what ive heard :P
April 26, 200916 yr Ciara to the stage and Lovers Thing have seriously grown on me. Amazing album I must say, has been a long time since Ive had an album where I liked every last song.
April 26, 200916 yr Judging by the songs you mentioned, definitely listen to 'Work' and 'Pucker Up'. They're very up-tempo 'bangers' and are both brilliant - I think you'd like them. Work is SOOO good. No doubt my favourite off the album! You were right, those were definitely the best tracks apart from LSM. Rate after first listen: 6.75 Ciara To The Stage 9.75 Love Sex Magic 6.75 High Price 7.25 Turntables 6.25 Like A Surgeon 7.00 Never Ever 6.25 Lover's Thing 8.50 Work 9.00 Pucker Up 8.25 G Is For Girl (A-Z) 6.50 Keep Dancin' On Me 8.50 Tell Me What Your Name Is 7.75 I Don't Remember Overall: 7.58/10 Fairly decent, though I felt I was slightly kind with my marks. They'll probably go down in time. "Ciara To The Stage" reminds me a lot of Ashanti's "Girlfriend". Similar vocals and general sound, could be a bit of a grower. :o Apart from the bland "Keep Dancin' On Me", the album picks up in the second half. (ignoring that the best track is in the first half) I didn't really enjoy the ballads.
April 26, 200916 yr I've decided the album is a case of KYLIEX SYNDROME. This means that it could've been great when you consider how much she recorded but suffers because the final tracklist was poorly ordered/chosen. It would've been much easier to listen to if she'd been allowed to keep the three-disc idea I guess. Also I do feel like Cici needs to start making R&B which is a little more modern. She doesn't seem to realise that she's best at the poppy songs (Never Ever, LSM, Tell Me What Your Name Is, Pucker Up). Compare Fantasy Ride with Good Girl Gone Bad... Def Jam would do a much better job with her. Still, 8/10 for Fantasy Ride.
April 28, 200916 yr Author CD sneak peak: http://i42.tinypic.com/rvj791.jpg It seems to go from pure amazingness to TACKY quite quickly as far as the artwork goes. That falls into the latter :(.
April 28, 200916 yr The artwork for this era really does seem quite messy, there seems to be little direction. The front cover (with the braids and animated clothes) and the CD kinda give off a 'comic-book super hero' vibe. Then you've got the inlay pictures we've seen that are half 'comic hero'-ish, half circus themed. (as if that hasn't been done to death lately) While the silvery cover and videos are nothing you wouldn't expect from a good looking R&B diva. At least there's a bit of effort to create theme I guess. (albeit one that's not particularly related to the album and tacky looking results)
April 29, 200916 yr I love it tacky but cute. 185 153 CIARA FEAT. YOUNG JEEZY NEVER EVER 8336 -6 8881 166898 - Sales have dropped but we could see a rise if its climbed on the digital chart and still rising on airplay currently at #198 on Itunes loll highest its been in a while 22 22 CIARA FEAT. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE LOVE SEX MAGIC 49183 -11 55176 449541 - Dropping on sales and airplay fast! When is this so called promo going to start. currently at #22 on Itunes.
April 29, 200916 yr #198 isn't the highest it's been for a while, it was #147 a few days back. :heehee:
April 29, 200916 yr Oh...well last time I checked it was like #210 either way I'm not bothered as long as she comes and f***ing promotes this sinking ship.
April 30, 200916 yr Author 'Never Ever' is seriously gaining on Airplay now, increased by 1.086AI yesterday :o I predict this will be a fairly sized hit soon, downloads should increase dramatically during Promo/Album release week.
April 30, 200916 yr Well its up to #79 which I can understand but LSM is up 1 place to #24 which seems odd seeing as its falling on airplay and downloads...I'm not complaining either way.
