BUZZJACK SONG CONTEST XIX
New Svetlandiya, Numayania

After winners Mdice and runner up Eledan have declined, Numayania's third place with Le Kid means that capital New Svetlandiya will be hosting contest XIX in August, with help from People's Republic of Jester, Ben's Sanctuary and Kylienips. The Reservation thread will open Sunday between 7:30-8pm. Other dates are TBC. Thank you to everyone for your votes. More news soon!

Chansong Hoste Pala Numayanie

Welcome to the Numayanian National Final for BJSCXIX, coming to you live from the capital, New Svetlandiya :w00t: After only a little hype, Le Kid unexpectedly came third in XVIII (thank you, thank you, we are in your debt ) And after Mdice and Eledan declined to host this time, Numayania finally gets it's chance to shine. We're in a unique position here - as the host we qualify to the final along with Mdice (and Eledan if there is an even number) so we need to find something different that is worthy of a host country - but that could also win :kink: Check out the contenders below...

Song one - Centerfold - Take Me
A Dutch girlgroup, sharing the name and management of an 80s group of the same name (Dictator was their biggest hit). But the girls are all new, and so is the sound, a cross of funky Europop and kickass R&B. Check it out...

Song two - Jade Ewen - My Man
On Buzzjack, Jade really needs no introduction - but I'll give her one anyway :kink: The UK's entrant in Eurovision 2009 with the classy ballad It's My Time, this exciting R&B track couldn't be more different if it tried! Produced by Quiz and Laroussi of Saturdays fame, can Jade make it Numayania's time?

Song three - Filthy Dukes - Messages
A collaboration between up and coming UK producers and Swedish vocalist Tommy Sparks (pending permission from Utopia) this track takes us straight back to the 80s in a fabulous and thoroughly Numayanian way. Can we go back to the future with this one?

Song four - Blake Lewis - Sad Song
American Idol alum in the same year as superstar diva Jordin Sparks, Blake beat Jordin two-to-one in the Numayanian vote (trasmitted via NTV's sister station in Milwaukee). We know the rest of the story, but after a flop album Blake is back on his own two feet, having recently collaborated with Ryan Tedder and Darude, he's about to rock with this huge Killers-meets-Depeche-Mode-meets-Tedder anthem. It might be a Sad Song but could it have a happy ending for Numayania?

Song five - Discobitch - C'Est Beau La Bourgeoisie
Discobitch are Kylian Mash and Laurent Konrad, two of the biggest producers from the French house scene, with guest vocals from French-American singer Pauline Sampeur. A huge hit last year in France and Italy, it's just broken big in Germany, could the UK be next? Failing that, what about Numayania, or your country? :kink:

Early polls in La Gardiane Dela Numayanie and Svetlandiya Sohnste suggest that the Numayanian population's favourite is Centerfold, and the Svetlandian community prefers Blake Lewis.

But what does the rest of Buzzjack World think? Your votes please :cheer:

1. Centrefold, I quite like, really catchy, its got potential

2. Stands a good chance since you are automatically qualified to the final, but I think it will end up middle-ish in the final outcome

3. I'm on the fence, but if you were in the semi stage, this would probably just nip in

4. I actually like this, this could do very well in the final.

5. :puke: you are lucky you are not in the semi final stage, it probably DNQ

Overall I go for #4, its the best of the bunch

The thing is you are automatically in the final you can enter any of those without getting DNQ, but its risky sending #5, you could end up at the bottom of the scoreboard in the final on nul points :snif: very risky, best avoided.

Thanks Martin

I'm thinking 1 or 4, Jade Ewen seems too cheap for a host entry...

I love Discobitch but it is seriously cheesy :kink:

1. It's quite good, could possibly come top 10, though not much better than that I'd have thought.

7th-10th

2. I'd have thought top 10 definately, but has a high chance of winning.

1st-7th

3. Not my kind of thing tbh, but it'll do alright, top 15/20.

14th-18th

4. Quite good actually, 2nd favourite from you, though it'll sadly underperform due to the male-factor.

16th-19th

5. Vile song, you won't end up on nul points I'd have thought, though I think you'll be near, if not the bottom.

26th-29th (depending on final size obv.)

Thanks Cal :)

Now that's beautiful considering you are in the final this would be my ideal choice, out of all 5, I would go for it, as you have nothing to lose, and you still get a respectable position in the final with it. I reckon just outside the top 10, depends what other tracks are finally confirmed.

ooh, I'm glad you're picking up Love In July...lovely song which obviously would get Rontvian points and as a hosts entry would do just fine...8th-14th I reckon...

Tyron thinks it would 'do an Antonio' but I do think it's a lot better than that personally, and has a charming video

That's true. My only worry is that I think she's done better songs (Ill Be By Your Side and Miracle )

What do you think of the others Rich?

will hopefully have time to listen to them tomorrow :D I can't say I've heard any of her other songs, but definitely send your favourite one as opposed to the one you think would do best, I'd love to be introduced to more of her music

Cool. I love italo disco stuff, like I said in that pm I'd love to send an original 80s track in that style but I think almost anything would flop :(

Personally Tom you could enter a good track, this is your perfect opportunity not to participate in the semis, I would go for Sally Shapiro or Blake Lewis, you will definitely get some points from me especially high points for Sally, I think its beautiful, I do think you get a respectable position for it, unless you are going for another win, which in that case you end up hosting again :heehee:

ooh can you give me a review on Nerina Pallot in my thread sometime.

Thanks Mart!n. Will try to do by the end of the night. I'd love to win of course, but if I do, the runner up is hosting :kink:

Sally Shapiro is a lovely song, but I can't see it doing well, sadly, if that's your aim.

It's your fave then?

I know what you mean. It's conflicting, because I didn't win last time, I kind of feel like I shouldn't send a typical host entry, but I don't really want to go cheap either...

what's a 'typical host entry', something risky?
