Um, what monumental changes are going on in Latin America? (exactly your point?)

The quite dramatic shifts from military and fascist juntas to more leftist, Marxist or Socialist/Democratic leanings... Venezuela (Chavez) and Bolivia (Morales) being two examples, and now in Brazil you have a President who used to be in one of the biggest trade unions in that country, he's trying to consolidate the workers far more, also trying to tackle the poverty in the "favellas".... Not that you're hearing a damn thing about any of this, well apart from the obvious Anti-Chavez stuff coming from the US neo-cons who are p!ssed off by the fact that he has a stranglehold on the oil in that country and the fact that every (CIA funded) attempt made to assassinate him failed....

Yeah no-one has any idea what these monumental are though whereas everyone knows who Jade is.

Yeah, but these changes will affect our lives for the next 20 years.... You dont seem (or else are too thick..) to realise that what is going on in Latin America, China and India is going to affect our everyday lives..... Will anyone even remember who Jade fukkin' Goody was in 20 years time when China and India are dominating the world's markets, and have bought up everything in the US or UK....? I rather doubt that....

Exactly.

But this is what you get with dumbed down Britain who are too busy reading The Sun or the Daily Star instead of reading the Independent or the Daily Telegraph.

I mean who wants to know about World affairs that WILL have a significant impact on ALL of our lives over the next few decades when you can read all about the likes of Jade Goody; Cheryl Cole; Katie Price & Jodie Marsh.

Max Clifford has claimed that the christening would be Jade's last ever public appearance. We'll see...

I think she will be dead within a few days tbh, i would be surprised if she is still about this time next week

You prob wont see very much about Chavez, Morales or Da Silva in the Daily Torygraph either mate, I rather doubt the torygraph likes these guys much..... The Indie and the Guardian do some stuff, but it's mainly being disseminated through the net or from Leftist-leaning press such as New Statesman or Red Pepper, or from World Systems journals....

I managed to incredibly miss out Russia.... LOTS of stuff going on there.... Russia is going to become a huge power in the next decade or so, something we should really be concerned about considering that they are in the grip of a virtual madman, Vladimir Putin who basically dominates former Eastern bloc politics, I rather think we have another Stalin here, but of course, you wont be hearing much about this, other than how much us and the Yanks are trying to kiss his arse and just look the other way as he bombs the cr'p out of Georgia and Chechnya.....

it will be a reissue/re-recording of Jade Goody's all time favourite song: Aerosmith's I Don't Want To Miss A Thing.

And Steve Tyler's going along with this....??? Bloody hell, I thought he actually stopped taking drugs......

It looks like it may be re-recorded by the Sugababes.

Besides it is not his song as it was penned by US legendary songwriter Diane Warren; so Steven Tyler would have little say over it.

I hate to say this, but there was a eight page pull out in the News Of The World on Jade, I just lit a match to it, she is everywhere in the press, why can't they just leave her alone, talk about milking it. I'm not really a fan of her, but now its getting a bit OTT.

It's not Tyler's song. :heehee:

Even if it was, he's not one to be an asshole about situations like this, and probably would do it. -_-

It really fukkin' disgusts me this does... Here we are all bloody fixated on this bint, while half a bloody world away in Latin America, we have Shakira opening up schools, making good use of her fame to save the lives of deprived kids and highlight scandalous issues which are surely shaming the Colombian Govt, and she's been involved in this since she was 18 years old... Would you see the likes of Cheryl Cole or Victoria Beckham doing what Shaki is doing... Not bloody likely...... And one has to wonder just WHY it is that we're only just now hearing of Shaki's amazing, truly selfless and compassionate efforts here in the West..... Why are we giving copy space to vapid, useless bints like Jade, Jordan, Cheryl and Victoria Beckham while practically ignoring the selfless determination, passion and guts of truly good people in the public eye like Shakira who realise that there is something far bigger, far more important than themselves and give themselves to a cause and help others in need....

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid to say that I am seriously tempted to join the "hurry up and die" chorus.......

And on that note, I join the queue

She also gave something like $40 million of her own money away to charity the other year. Now, I haven't heard anything of Jade giving away anything to charity..

Yes but tbh Grimley I doubt the average Sun, Mirror, Star or NOTW really cares about what's happening in Columbia, Brazil, China or India etc. I certainly don't. It doesn't really affect our lives so won't sell papers. A big Celebrity headline means increased sales that day. It's a fact and has been proved time and time again. Each daily paper prints what they think their readership wants to read. I doubt that a story about Shakira opening schools would result in many thousands of increased sales. I bet if they thought it would then they'd print it tomorrow. Newspapers are there to make a PROFIT. The Sun's readership has actually INCREASED since Jade's illness was first publicised. So people WANT TO READ ABOUT IT even if a few don't. People love reading about celebrities. FACT. If every day they printed a Jade story sales slumped then they'd soon drop coverage or lessen it.

As I've said many times on other forums, if the Sun is such a bad newspaper then why is it far and away the biggest UK seller. It outsells the second, The Mirror isn't it, BY A MILE. People seem to conveniently avoid that question of mine.

Did I read that right? A charity single for Jade? Sugababes covering Aerosmith (again) would be a bit of a disaster musically, but the whole idea is just a bit WTF really.
if the money is going to a good cause i think its a great idea, although im not sure if the sugababes are the right act to do it

The money will go to Jack and the rest of the family

If the song was to raise money for cancer research and to fund awareness of cervical cancer I would probably buy the song but this is just more drug and booze money for Jack Tweed :rolleyes;

You have no grasp of reality Chris, you are confusing quality with quantity, so because Crazy Frog has had #1 hits and Led Zeppelin haven't does that make Crazy Frog better than Led Zepp ? get real man

The Sun is 99% bought by brain dead morons, chavs and middle aged bum flashing builders who want to perve on page 3 girls tits, don't assume because it is the most popular paper that it is the best, infact The Sun being so popular is a sad and damning indictment on this society
