March 22, 200916 yr This sums it up. Not really...Pavel's from Russia, so it's quite unlikely that he'd know who she was!
March 22, 200916 yr It's sad that another life has been lost to cancer. However, I didn't like Jade Goody and I'm not going to mourn her. I feel sorry for her children, I really do, it's such a shame but I just hope they'll get her funeral out of the way and we don't have to hear about it anymore. Bloody Stephen Fry even ldubbed her 'a Princess Diana from the wrong side of the tracks' FFS
March 22, 200916 yr It's such a shame. But she has certainly made people more aware of cancer, which is always a great thing to hear.
March 22, 200916 yr Not really...Pavel's from Russia, so it's quite unlikely that he'd know who she was! That's the point I was making. Yet Gordon Brown has set time aside today to express his regret at the death of a very ordinary woman. People who have really achieved something, who are British yet whose brilliance has led to them to being known in Russia and elsewhere don't get this kind of treatment. Seems more like an attempt by Brown to regain popularity with the thicker members of the public.
March 22, 200916 yr When myself and my girlfriend was putting our daughter to bed tonight she asked to look at the stars as she said, which everone was the brighest would be jade, it was such a touching moment from her and she looked at jades death in some ways positive as she thinks its amazing how a human can be a star,i tell it brought a tear to our eye, and my heart and soul goes out to her 2 sons, its such a tough tough time for them.
March 23, 200916 yr Seems more like an attempt by Brown to regain popularity with the thicker members of the public. In a nutshell Rich.... Broon's about as popular with working classes as a fart in a spacesuit right now - Recession, the NHS in meltdown, the banking fiasco, the continuing "war on terror", the wholesale betrayal of the ordinary common man and woman from what is supposed to be a "party of the workers"..... But, hey, let's forget all that because Gordy said a few nice words about Jade..... VERMIN...... <_<
March 23, 200916 yr Yeah, okay, RIP Jade, blah, blah.... Now, can we actually get on with our lives without all the big boo-hooing and treating her like "Saint" Diana.....? And, frankly, I agree with the poster who said the sudden and tragic death of Natasha Richardson (who, unlike Jade, never sold her soul for tabloid gold) is a FAR greater loss to our art and culture..... right.... first admit you were WRONG in your deliberate, literal, interpretation of her saying 'ive lived in front of the cameras, ill die in front of the cameras'.. you were being mischeivious in order to pick a fight! secondly.... natasha richardson? some bint brought up with money and comfort, being educated to a priviledged level ..... and you are compareing her death to jade goody who has had non of those wealthy, safe, priviledges? n r was an ACTRESS, from a very well off background, her job was acting. jade goody was a thick, pathetic individual from a very underpriviledged background...you know...the type of people YOU are always championing over the said well of priviledged ones! <_< jade goody behaved in the role she had made for herself, distasteful though it was, as long as there are idiots who are interested in her then she had every right to make money entertaining them..... Agreed. While there is no doubt that Natasha had more to offer us in terms of acting talent, the idea that it makes her life more valuable than a "stupid, ugly" woman from a poor background is repulsive to me. Of course the amount of attention for Jade's illness and death is completely disproportionate, but in all honesty, Natasha's death wouldn't have made the front pages of any British newspapers if she wasn't married to Liam Neeson or the daughter of acting legends or the sister of Joeley. She was a very well respected Broadway actress, but well respected Broadway actresses with a few film roles don't normally get the attention Natasha got. It's horribly sad for both families and everyone who knew either of them. oh well said! VERY well said! . I don't like how it was fine to (rightly) abuse her a year ago, but then as soon as she's got cancer and now she's died anyone who says anything bad about her is looked down on huely. As i it makes her any less vile... -_- spot on.... she was a figure of fun, a dumb clown that everybody laughed at, then she got ill and suddenly it was 'saint jade' .... I'm actually quite shocked by some people's reactions. why? she was a nonentity, yep its sad shes died young but its no more sadder then millions of other people who die young. i didnt like her much in life and ill not be changing my views on her just because shes snuffed it..
March 26, 200916 yr right.... first admit you were WRONG in your deliberate, literal, interpretation of her saying 'ive lived in front of the cameras, ill die in front of the cameras'.. you were being mischeivious in order to pick a fight! secondly.... natasha richardson? some bint brought up with money and comfort, being educated to a priviledged level ..... and you are compareing her death to jade goody who has had non of those wealthy, safe, priviledges? n r was an ACTRESS, from a very well off background, her job was acting. jade goody was a thick, pathetic individual from a very underpriviledged background...you know...the type of people YOU are always championing over the said well of priviledged ones! <_< No, I wont admit I was wrong... The Reality TV lot (ie, the producers) would have done it if they could've gotten away with it, but they probably backed off when only when their legal departments said it would be a bad move.... Dont believe for a minute that they wouldn't do such a thing, these sorts of b#astards would probably have a game show based on Russian Roulette if they could get away with it..... You're forgetting about the fact that her bloody FUNERAL is going to be televised... Oh, I'm sorry, but is she the sodding QUEEN MUM or summat.....? The likes of Natasha Richardson and Wendy Richards have made far more valuable contributions to our culture than Jade (whose partly responsible along with the likes of Jordan and Jodie Marsh for totally dumbing it down... And, Ms Marsh was actually privately educated, she's just playing at being a pleb, which makes her considerably worse than Jade....), regardless of social backgrounds (and you can hardly say Wendy Richards was brought up with a silver spoon in her gob), end of..... I wont defend people who choose to be ignorant, and who make it a career choice to be thick and unintelligent, bottom line, I dont give a sh!t what their social backgrounds are....
March 26, 200916 yr The media are portraying Jade as the new Princess Diana, I believe one of them even called her Princess Diana from the wrong side of the tracks, I can understand the comparisons between Jade Goody & Princess Diana. Both were deeply unremarkable women hyped to the point of hysteria by the British press who's ultimate demise was swamped in a tsunami of mawkish sentimentality that bore no relation to their actual achievements. Lets face it if you threw a bucket of $h!t in an Essex nightclub or a Knightsbridge shop you would hit a dozen Jade Goodys or Diana Spencers. Both were famous just for being famous; Jade because she was a televised freakshow & Diana because she married into a freakshow. Without these strokes of fortune neither of them would have made any impression. Jade would have just been someone you wouldn't like to have lived next door to & Diana just another Sloane married off to some Hooray Henry & probably f***ing his mates behind his back. Neither were terrible people but nor were they living saints who's loss should plunge the nation into a frenzy of crocodile tears. On the day Jade died so did another 150,000 other people. Another 150,000 will die today. Some were soldiers, doctors, scientists, artists, dustmen, miners, mothers, children, criminals & poets. Some had cancer, some had AIDS, some went checking for a gas leak with their Zippo, & some died trying to save others. Some were better people than Jade. Some weren't. How many of their stories do you know? What makes Jade so special that the press & television are full of her story to the exclusion of all others? The answer of course is the vapid masses who have bought into this bull$h!t & spent their money perpetuating this ghoulish charade. As Thomas Jefferson once said "People get the government they deserve". This also applies to the press & media. As long as people continue to pay good money for freakshows the media will continue to invent them. If you are happily filling your head with the vacuous drivel regurgitated by the press for the consumption of toothless sheep who think that Jade Goody's life, or Diana's or some WAG's or any of these Z-list manufactured plebs is actually important, rather than science, politics, art, music, or any other aspect of 'real' reality then so be it Rant over, if the Jade bummers on here want to bum the next Jade then we will get the media freakshows like we have had again and again :manson: Edited March 26, 200916 yr by B.A Baracus

March 26, 200916 yr On top of everything else what Jade has done in terms of this embarrassing and undignified freakshow in the media spotlight in recent week she has done a massive dis-service for her boys, by making herself the new Diana she has pretty much insured that those boys will be followed by the paparazzi and the media for much of their lives whereas if she had died with privacy and dignity that might not have happened, the paps and the tabloid journo scum are going to follow those boys wherever they go, on the boys' birthdays we will be seeing ghoulish sentimentality in the media about Jade, when the boys start dating they and their girlfriends will be followed from pillar to post by the media, they are going to live their lives in the media spotlight, no amount of millions is going to give the boys a normal life while the vultures of the press and paparazzi circle, nice one Jade

I realised then that they're never going to be left alone now... in 10 years time one of them will be on the wrong side of the tracks and it'll become news, news full of "if only their mum hadn't died when they were young" sentimentality. I'm also pretty certain that if she had just died quietly the level of interest in her boys wouldn't be so great.

Scott was correct. Originally Jade had every intention of having her death filmed. But her PR Max Clifford made her change her mind. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...-is-enough.html Still I suppose you fully approve her funeral on Saturday 4th April being televised as there is a bidding war going on right now between Channel 4; Sky & Living TV to televise it. Because she is such an important icon of our times. Whilst if you think her funeral will see the end of all of this media coverage. Then you are sadly deluded. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/a15082...l-all-book.html Still as I prefer to live in the real world I will remember Jade for things like this: HyOXpD-9Tj8 4G8-tGE7nIs

THATS what scott insists she meant which clearly wasnt the case! she was refering to her GRADUAL DEMISE, not her actual moment of passing SCOTT AND YOU are wrong m8! and what makes you think i condone this pitiful circus? I DONT and never have... ive merely stated that jades demise is for HER to decide and ive been openly critical of the morons following it! i for one will NOT be watching the funeral. i KNOW it wont be the end of thejade media circus... but i WANT it to be.

Jodie Marsh had a private education at a posh girl's school (so her folks clearly had a few bob), look how she turned out.... Both chose to be ignorant and make a career out of their thickness.... Both from different social backgrounds, both thick as pig-$h!t.... Wendy Richards came from a working class background, Natasha Richardson came from a more priveleged one certainly, but BOTH made something of their lives on their own merits (Natasha going out of her way to NOT use the "Redgrave" name purely to get ahead, which should actually tell you something about her...) and contributed positively to the overall culture in this country, whereas the likes of Marsh and Goody drag it down..... Not hypocrisy at all.....

Because she is such an important icon of our times. Pathetic really innit....? Some sort of televised "state" funeral almost for a person who clearly does NOT deserve it.... Still, I bet Gordon Broon will probably use this as yet another opportunity to try and make everyone overlook his disastrous handling of the NHS and public finances..... As for Craig's excellent post, couldn't agree more.... Why on earth are we worshipping such total mediocrity....? Princess Di at least tried to do some good charitable works and raise awareness of the whole landmines thing, Jade's done fukk all for anyone except herself..... And, please, nobody give me this utter sh!te about how "she's doing it for her kids....". To borrow from Chris Rock when he talks about people seeking credit for stuff they're supposed to do... "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS, YOU DUMB MOTHERFUKKER"......

Not hypocrisy at all..... nonsense.... so by that remark EVERYBODY should be well educated and their environments are totally irrelevant?... jade was bought up in poverty by a drug fueled mother, its no wonder shes 'thick'... theres no argument that richards/richardson made something of their lives... they were actresses, jade was a reality tv star and in many ways much though i dont like the celeb culture i simply dont blame her! being picked for bb was her turning point... afterwards she could either slip back into obscurity and most likely a council flat with several ferrel brats.... or she could have gone the way she did, making herself a life of wealth and comfort by being a 'celeb'. sorry but i dont blame her doing what she did as its quite obvious its all she could have done! theres no talent anywhere else, so theres no option... poverty or riches... its a no-brainer m8.
