 How many awards do they need to dish out?
Rap song category has found its VERY deserving winner :cheer:

I'm so happy for Adele and Kings of Leon! Well deserved!

On the other hand John Mayer's and Alicia Keys's awards (for Gravity and Superwoman respectively) are totally undeserved IMO.

Oh, and btw OneRepublic deserved an award for Apologize as it is one of the most well written songs of 2008 (together with Bleeding Love which Tedder also co-wrote). VIva La Vida is good also, but not THE best.

'Gravity' is one of the most deserved awards of the whole shebang! An amazing performance and song!
Really pleased for our artists, mainly Adele, Estelle, Duffy and Coldplay, what a great lot of the main awards they took! Also really pleased for John Mayer and Jennifer Hudson but sad that Jason Mraz took nothing :(
Can someone break it down to which British artist won grammys and how many? Thanx

Coldplay got awards

btw was Robyn nominated?

the woman that dominated the Brit invasion last year (leona) wins nothing, how annoying.

How long was the show? It must have been a six hour bore-fest with that many categories! Yes ... I know they don't televise all the categories (as don't the Oscars & the BAFTAs) but this is serious time-wasting! Still, any excuse for a load of celebville back-slapping! I think I'd rather have the Brits - with many less categories it is a mercifully short affair and at least that can be funny sometimes .... especially when the Arctic Monkeys are given a chance to speak!

I never knew you liked the Arctic Monkeys:

I do ... despite what they said about Take That ... the cheeky monkeys! They more than made up for it with their comments at the 2008 Brits when they took the p*** out of the Brits School / Academy! I was there and it was hilarious! They shouldn't have bundled them off so hurriedly. Besides ... Alex Turner and Mark Owen made up later and he gave Owen passes to see them at some festival or other!

I have actually bought Favourite Worst Nightmares I'll have you know! I love it!

Norma

If you loved Favourite Worst Nightmare, you need to get The Age of the Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets. Now that should have been Album of the Year at the Grammys.

Now that I've been converted to iTunes and always have a card to redeem ... I may download a couple of tracks from it. I'm not going to buy albums from now on! Recommend me some tracks. On FWN my favourites were Brianstorm and Teddypicker ... something along those lines would be nice!

Norma

This fondness for AM's and little Alex does not mean I have gone off Take That! Take That are still the best live act I've ever seen ... and I've had 30 years of concert-going experience!

The Last Shadow Puppets album is so good you really need to hear it in its entirety.

Since Fluorescent Adolescent was my favourite on the AM album, I prefer the mellow songs. So here are some TLSP recommendations broken down by high energy vs tender.

High energy:

The Age of the Understatement

Standing Next To Me

Only The Truth

In My Room

Tender:

My Mistakes Were Made For You (one of the best songs of the 2000s)

The Meeting Place

Time Has Come Again

Black Plant

And ... The Last Shadow Puppets concert in Leeds was the second best concert I've seen and I've had over 30 years of concert-going experience as well!

Actually she hasn't "dominated" really! Duffy and Adele had success as well and got rewarded for it here! Imo they're also both much much better with Adele being my favourite! She's done very well but she's not the 'biggest export from britain in years' when you look at how huge Coldplay are! Come on! Even a lot of her fans have said her album isn't really very good  Plus she didn't really contribute to it so what do you think she should get an award for exactly?
