I get what you're saying but although both players have come back from injury Rooney's was worse. Messi is an extremley great player with bags of potential but so is Rooney.

 

I realise that Rooney does have great potential, I just don't like his character, I think his attitude is all wrong. He reminds me a lot of Gazza in many respects, an incredibly obnoxious tw@t.... And it doesn't help that he plays for the most arrogant, full-of-sh!t, obnoxious team in England either.....

 

Yeah I would not be surprised to see him end up like Gazza, a mumbling incoherent pisshead who batters women, he is a great footballer but Rooney appears on the face of it to be a somewhat obnoxious character

Saw him at Soccer Aid couple of weeks ago - lost it completely! And everybody booed him when he got the ball...

The hand of god may have been shameful but I can't deny how great he was, as it has been mentioned already he virtually won Serie A at Napoli on his own and NO other player could have that kind of impact not even Ronaldinho or Wayne Rooney.

 

And with Rooney's temper since he's been at Man United he has curbed his temper and isn't as easy to wind up and I hope to see him tested by a big side like Argentina at one point.
