Posted June 16, 200619 yr Seems both channels are screening the final, but on which channel would you prefer to watch the World Cup final. I prefer BBC1 without the ads, but I hate Alan Hansen gobbing on, that's the only drawback of watching the final on BBC1
June 16, 200619 yr BBC. The commentary team can sometimes be rubbish but there are no adverts compared to ITV which make sit better viewing.
June 16, 200619 yr ITV1 - I don't personally have a problem with ads. Half time "analysis" are usually c**p anyway and just telling us what we already know. Four of five mins on ITV1 is time enough for me. Gabby Logan or Steve Rider - whichever presents the final on ITV1 - beats Gary Lineker imo. ITV's pundits I find more watchable as well, Alan Hansen is vile :puke2: and Ian Wright is almost as bad. Terry Venables, Ally McCoist and Stuart Pearce are better there. The commentators for BBC's final will more than likely be Motty and Lawro :puke2: no thanks -_- I've had enough of them on Fifa 98-2002 and the hours I used to spend on it! Whoever ITV pick - someone out of Peter Drury, Jon Champion or Clive Tyldsley suits me more than Jon Motson. The only ITV1 drawback for me is Sam Allardyce -_- he's just about bearable.
June 16, 200619 yr anyone is better than Motson he is terrible, the only comentator who manages to mention England every 5 minutes, 1966 and all that and Rooney, even when England are not playing. Is he the most biased comentator on the planet. :puke2: Edited June 16, 200619 yr by brian91

June 16, 200619 yr The BBC pundits are extremley bias towards England especially Ian Wright, but I like him because he is a typical English supporter just like the majority of people watching the coverage.
June 16, 200619 yr ITV, less biased, the intro isnt as c**p as the BBC one, that is really just sh*t. The itv graphics are better than the bbc's as well! Can someone change my vote from BBC to ITV i clicked the wrong one!!! Edited June 16, 200619 yr by martyn
June 17, 200619 yr Watch the coverage on Beeb one, but listen to commentary on the radio....  Radio commentary beats the telly commentary hands down, always has done....
June 17, 200619 yr I agree the Radio Five Live's coverage is best of the lot. However Alan Green, Terry Butcher & Graham Taylor's "Sven / Beckham bashing" is getting quite tiring to listen to!

Graham Taylor's got a bit of a nerve slagging off Sven, he was probably the most disastrous coach you guys had since Don Revie...
June 19, 200619 yr BBC by miles and miles. Yeah, I really want to hear the expert opinion of Robbie Earle and Andy Townsend of ITV don't I? I did prefer Barry Davies to Motty though, he's missed this year.
June 21, 200619 yr BBC, as ITVs picture quality on Sky seems rubbish for the footy. Knowing my luck Ill be watching at work anyway!
June 22, 200619 yr Lineker is a boring t*** that shows no enthusiasm  And Steve Rider DOES? :|
June 22, 200619 yr Eugh BBC One wil show the Brazil match tonight so those of us without BBC Three won't be able to watch the Croatia - Australia one  which is far more meaningful. -_-
