I'm sure this is probably not news as such, but I stumbled across this on MSN:

Sharon Osbourne said she quit as a judge on The X Factor because of Dannii Minogue.

Sharon Osbourne said she quit as a judge on The X Factor because of Dannii Minogue.

The 56-year-old left the ITV1 show in June after four series saying it was "time to move on", and reports suggested clashes with fellow panellist Dannii were also behind her decision.

Sharon has now told Closer magazine: "I left because of Dannii Minogue. Simple as that.

"I didn't enjoy working with her at all and didn't fancy the prospect of spending six months sitting next to her."

Sharon, who was replaced on the TV talent show by Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, rejected the suggestion that her fall-out with Dannii came about because she was jealous of the younger woman's looks.

"I've not built my career on my looks or my youth," she said. "There was no competition in that way."

Sharon - who found fame with rocker hubby Ozzy and their children Kelly and Jack on reality show The Osbournes - also revealed she used to hand out an unusual form of retribution to people who crossed her.

"I haven't sent a Tiffany box for years, but I used to send c*** to people who annoyed me," she said. "I remember Jack saying to me: 'Mummy, why do I have to poo in a box?' and I said: 'Shut up and keep s*******!'"

Stupid old HAG! Why can't she just let this go already?

So what if Dannii was a better judge than you, is more youthful, is a nicer person and has more class than you could ever dream of? Stop being so jealous and bitter about it.

Having been a manager, festival organiser and built a number of successful businesses in the music industry she has forgotten more about music than Dannii will ever know

Sharon >>>>>>>>> Dannii

Cheryl is the eye candy now Dannii is not needed

The hilarious thing is that she things continually slagging Dannii off over a year later will win her support, but the huge majority of the public has gone from quite liking her charming battyness to think she's a bitter old whore. Quite right too.

why do the press think we care? i mean, it's nothing we don't already know.

sharon needs to tell them "NO" the next time it gets brought up. it's boring and old.

Absolutely - I know this is definitely the case for me.

I used to adore Sharon before all of this. But seriously let it go, woman for gods sakes.

No matter what you all think of her, BA is right in that she knows more about the music industry and has more right to comment on it than Danni Minogue.

I really like Sharon but even I'm getting to see what an unpleasant person she can be through all of this constant moaning. She'd be forgiven for one or two outbursts but it seems to be the only way she can keep herself in the papers nowadays.

As for the "she'd be nothing without Ozzy" comment, I'm sure her dad and then herself were Ozzy's managers, so it sort of works both ways.

As far as X-Factor went she was a vile, unpleasant woman & I wish she'd take the rest of her annoying family with her.

Whilst lets see how she did as a judge:

In Series 1 she had the 16-24 category containing the favourite Tabby Callaghan & 3rd fav Cassie Compton yet through bad song selections they only finished 3rd & 5th respectively. Later Tabby blamed Sharon for him not winning due to some bad song choices for the 3 way final he was expected to win. He also heavily criticised her for being all talk and as false as her face for her offer of supporting his career after X-Factor ended.

In Series 2 she had the Over 24 category containing Over 25s Andy Abraham, Brenda Edwards, Chico Slimani &

Maria Lawson. This was unquestionably her strongest year; although Louis Walsh' Shayne Ward was the favourite from early on. However, the novelty that was Chico survived 3 bottom 2's before finishing 5th. Binman Andy Abrahams finished a very creditable 2nd exceeding expectations; Diva Brenda Edwards finished an impressive 4th; but her most fancied act at the beginning Maria Lawson finished a very low 8th after an awful song choice covering the Rolling Stones.

In Series 3 she again had the Over 24 category. Whilst even a deaf person could tell that Simon Cowell's Leona Lewis was head and shoulders above everyone else that as ever entered the show (past or present) Sharon selected 4 acts of which 3 were heavily criticised at the time on forums like Digitalspy for being poor selections compared to other choices available. ... And so it turned out with Sharon losing 2 acts in the first 4 weeks; whilst Robert Allen lasted to finish 6th by virtue of some tactical voting when he was saved twice by the judges vote before being eliminated. However she did have Ben Mills who was expected by most pundits to finish 2nd; however a poor set of song choices in the Semi Final week saw him eliminated in 3rd behind the much less talented Ray Quinn.

Then we come to her nadir Series 4 where Sharon had the Girls category. Most pundits were left incredulous as many thought the 3 girls she rejected at the Final 24 bootcamp stage were stronger than the 3 acts she selected. With many wondering whether she would have an act left in the second half of the series as a result. She lost Kimberley week 1; Emily Nakanda (aka "Lady Shivers") was withdrawn week 2 after that violent video she made appeared on youtube; and her final act Alisha Bennett limped on to finish 7th only after being saved by the judges twice (in sympathy of Sharon & not the act).

In stark contrast:

In Series 4 Dannii had the Boys and selected the unfancied with the bookies Leon Jackson & rank 33-1 outsider Rhydian Roberts (whom Sharon Osbourne absolutely detested) amongst her act which she was mocked for at the time. Of course they ended up being the Final 2 due to some inspired song selections. Her initially most fancied act Andy Williams finished 8th.

Then in Series 5 Dannii was given the poisoned chalice at the time of the Over 25s where she selected Daniel "Ricky Gervais with a dead wife at child birth" Evans; Rachel "the wrong side of the tracks" Hylton & Ruth "she Spanish so should not be in the show really" Lorenzo. This initially did not go down well with the public & certainly those on Digitalspy. However she ended up being the last judge to have all of her acts remaining & many people thought she was hard done by to lose Ruth in 5th place. However no judge has done better with the Over 25 category in the history of the show.

And I have not even mentioned Sharon's rant towards Steve Brookstein in the Final of Series 1 that affectively handed him victory as a result.

If it wasn't for ELO I wouldn't really have known anything about Sharon Osborne. Don Arden was one of the hardest, meanest, shrewdest, mafia-esque people in the music business. It can't have been easy for her living with him he seemed like a tyrant in the home as well as in the workplace! I'm not sure if she's actually moaning or being bitter or whatever ... I think she just is a bit gobby! I think she goes a bit far with these 'tiffany' parcels and stuff but I do like the way she is fiercely protective of her family. And I'm sorry - but she was far more entertaining on X-Factor than Danni Minogue ever was or ever will be. I think it is time to replace Danni - I honestly don't see what she adds to it. Lily Allen would have been a good choice ... nice to see what the chemistry between her and Cheryl Cole would be like. Besides ... she and Cole have something in common ... they've both had successful singing careers themselves.

Yes, in the 1980s she did when she was a cutting edge Rock manager of Slade, Gary Moore, Motörhead and ELO as well as her husband.

But having her be a judge on X-Factor was about as suitable as having Matt Goss (of Bros) comment on the state of the current charts or the BRITs tomorrow.

Whilst Dannii Minogue is hardly the most talented of artists, but she is the Head Judge on Australia's Top rated TV show Australia's Got Talent. Whilst over a year ago (Xmas New Year period 2007/8) she hosted a 2 Hour special on Radio 2 playing up and coming pop dance acts from down under where she played the likes of Ladyhawke, Van She, PNAU, Pendulum, Sneaky Sound System, etc many of them gaining their first ever airplay on BBC Radio as a result).

It's spelled Dannii, and Sharon never DID comment on the industry/say anything relevant. She just spent her time on the panel drooling over whichever male finalist took her fancy. A total waste of space/air.

sharon needs to tell them "NO" the next time it gets brought up. it's boring and old.

LOL, it's her bringing it up! Old sow can't let go!

However no judge has done better with the Over 25 category in the history of the show.

Does an over 25 winning not count then? I would also argue that Sharon's 2nd, 4th, 5th and 8th record is better than Dannii's 5th, 6th and 7th is better than Dannii's turn with the Over 25s last year.

You bring up a lot of good points but it is certainly biased towards Dannii. Yes, she chose the top 2 acts in series 4 but that resulted in the worst winner so far who achieved pitiful album sales and released the two singles after his flop "Don't Call This Love" as download only. (neither graced the top 75 ) She has the honour of picking the winner but it lost the show a bit of credibility.

Saying that, I love Dannii and I liked Sharon. (I've gone off her a bit after her obsession with Dannii)

I've never heard Dannii comment or say anything relevant either. As far as I've seen she just goes on about how 'wonderful' everyone is and now and again brings on the tear-drops. We'll have to agree to disagree on this. I think as judges they are both as hopeless as each other ... but Ma Osborne was more entertainingly hopeless.

Personally - I'd like all shows like this to be stopped and the judges (all of them) brought out before a firing squad and shot! But as long as we do have them at least make them interesting. Whilst the entertainment in the first half of each series is unquestionably provided by the contestants (especially the bad ones) when it gets to the live final stages the judges should be equally entertaining and at the moment ... apart from Cowell himself (and he's beginning to wane) I can't see what the other three judges are there for.

Bring back Hughie Green and the Clapometer!

Wow that 7 point font size was bigger than I thought earlier!

Dannii >>>>>>>>>>>>> The world.

Sharon would be nowhere without her husband.

And Dannii would be nowhere without her sister.

This is despite the fact that Dannii became famous before Kylie did?

I swore Dannii came out in the early 90's and Kylie in the late 80's?

I could be wrong though. And it's not like I care about this at all lawlz. I think all the judges / The X-Factor in general are a bit $h!t.
