Posted February 21, 200916 yr Monday comes round again, and Spring ain`t far away  Yes we look forward to the beginning of March (although Spring officially begins on Saturday 21st March). With thanks to the lovely Peter Jay, and John McManus for all their help in making this possible every week. Here it comes then, the preview of what may well happened on Sunday 1st March 2009. Based on Sales from Tuesday to Monday with added pre-orders/Monday`s sales. The Album preview: 01 NE INVADERS MUST DIE - PRODIGY 02 02 ONLY BY THE NIGHT - KINGS OF LEON 03 09 ROCKFERRY - DUFFY 04 01 IT`S NOT ME IT`S YOU - LILY ALLEN 05 36 SELDOM SEEN KID - ELBOW 06 18 THE FAME - LADY GAGA 07 14 DAY AND AGE - KILLERS 08 NE MASSIVE R + B SPRING O9 - VARIOUS 09 26 WE STARTED NOTHING - TING TINGS 10 06 BRITS 09 - VARIOUS 11 07 MASH UP MIX EUPHORIA - VARIOUS 12 24 I STARTED WITH NOTHING AND STILL HAVE MOST OF IT LEFT - SEASICK STEVE 13 19 FLEET FOXES - FLEET FOXES 14 37 ORACULAR SPECTACULAR - MGMT 15 05 CIRCUS - TAKE THAT 16 NE LAMB OF GOD - WRATH 17 20 BEST BETTE - BETTE MIDLER 18 11 VIVA LA VIDA - COLDPLAY 19 13 I AM SASHA FIERCE - BEYONCE 20 NE 80s NIGHTCLUB - VARIOUS 21 04 SONGS FOR YOU TRUTHS FOR ME - JAMES MORRISON 22 NE BALLAD OF JOHN HENRY - JOE BONAMASSA 23 03 YEARS OF REFUSAL - MORRISEY 24 08 MOTOWN 50 - VARIOUS 25 16 ALESHA SHOW - ALESHA DIXON 26 31 MAMMA MIA - OST 27 22 GOLDEN AGE - ROGER WHITAKER 28 21 VERY BEST OF - BUDDY HOLLY 29 45 POP ART - PET SHOP BOYS 30 25 FUNHOUSE - PINK Outside the Combined Top 30, we find CONNIE FISHER, ERASURE, and NATALIE COLE as artist entries to the 40...and the other compilation in there is CONFESSIONS OF A SHOP-A-HOLIC. That one squeezes into the top 50. On this financial period of our time, maybe this should be entitlted "Confessions Of A Shoplifter!" Well, you can`t afford to be a shop-a-holic, unless you spend all your days in Lidl! The Singles Preview: 01 11 USE SOMEBODY - KINGS OF LEON 02 NE MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU - KELLY CLARKSON 03 NE LOVE STORY - TAYLOR SWIFT 04 01 THE FEAR - LILY ALLEN 05 02 JUST DANCE - LADY GAGA 06 06 T-SHIRT - SHONTELLE 07 29 DEAD AND GONE - T.I. 08 15 WHATCHA THINK ABOUT THAT - PUSSYCAT DOLLS/MISSY ELLIOT 09 04 OMEN - PRODIGY 10 03 BREATHE SLOW - ALESHA DIXON 11 06 BROKEN STRINGS - JAMES MORRISON 12 08 SINGLES LADIES - BEYONCE 13 21 POKERFACE - LADY GAGA 14 07 TAKE ME BACK - TINCHY STRYDER 15 47 UP ALL NIGHT - TAKE THAT 16 12 DAY N`NITE - KID CUDI 17 20 SEX ON FIRE - KINGS OF LEON 18 09 CRACK A BOTTLE - EMINEM AND CO. 19 16 FLY ON THE WALL - MILEY CYRUS 20 10 GET ON YOUR BOOTS - U2 21 17 I`M YOURS - JASON MRAZ 22 23 HUMAN - KILLERS 23 13 CIRCUS - BRITNEY SPEARS 24 14 LET IT ROCK - KEVIN RUDOLF 25 18 ISSUES - SATURDAYS 26 19 GIVES YOU HELL - ALL AMERICAN REJECTS 27 51 VIVA LA VIDA - COLDPLAY 28 26 STRONG AGAIN - N-DUBZ 29 28 WONDERFUL - GARY GO 30 25 HOT N`COLD - KATY PERRY 31 27 IF I WERE A BOY - BEYONCE 32 50 EVERYBODY - RUDENKO 33 24 SOBER - PINK 34 RE ONE DAY LIKE THIS - ELBOW 35 22 CHANGE - DANIEL MERRIWEATHER 36 36 KIDS - MGMT 37 41 PAPER PLANES - MIA 38 52 TIME TO PRETEND - MGMT 39 31 UP - SATURDAYS 40 33 RUN - LEONA LEWIS 41 53 THE PROMISE - GIRLS ALOUD 42 54 THINKING OF YOU - KATY PERRY 43 44 SPACEMAN - KILLERS 44 37 MAD - NE-YO 45 34 BOY DOES NOTHING - ALESHA DIXON 46 55 GREATEST DAY - TAKE THAT 47 40 HEARTLESS - KANYE WEST 48 43 LOVING KIND - GIRLS ALOUD 49 30 HALLELUJAH - ALEXANDRA BURKE 50 39 LOVE LOCKDOWN - KANYE WEST Probably illogical, that Kings Of Leon will hold on until Sunday, but Kelly Clarkson vs Taylor Swift...Although on the pre-order score, the Saturdays would be number one! So, we await the download of that one. Outside the 50, we expect MERCY and DUFFY to go back up further, than last week`s number 60. Also back up for MADCON with "Beggin"...of which the version by the Four Seasons is currently in a tv commercial. A shame really because that knocks the sales of Madcon`s newie "Liar"....flop of the pops this week. Further down today we find CHASE AND STATUS, LEMAR, TING TINGS "WE WALK", KINGS OF LEON "REVELRY", ENRIQUE/CIARA, and GLAS VEGAS have problems. Last week we got 32 in the 40, and 43 in the 50 on the singles preview. In the combined albums, we had 24 in the top 30. We didn`t do as well as we could, due to the Brits effect more than anything! Back in February 1990, Radio Luxembourg came up with the following: 01 02 DUB BE GOOD TO ME - BEATS INTERNATIONAL 02 NE I DON`T KNOW ANYBODY ELSE - BLACKBOX 03 03 NOTHING COMPARES TO YOU - SINEAD O`CONNER 04 07 ENJOY THE SILENCE - DEPECHE MODE 05 15 HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITH OUT YOU 06 01 GET UP BEFORE THE NIGHT IS OVER - TECHNOTRONIC/YA KID K 07 09 JUST LIKE JESSE JAMES - CHER 08 18 STEAMY WINDOWS - TINA TURNER 09 05 HAPPENIN`ALL OVER AGAIN - LONNIE GORDON 10 08 I WISH IT WOULD RAIN DOWN - PHIL COLLINS 11 NE 96 TEARS - STRANGLERS 12 13 DOWNTOWN TRAIN - ROD STEWART 13 NE STRONGER THAN THAT - CLIFF RICHARD 14 06 LIVE TOGETHER - LISA STANSFIELD 15 04 WALK ON BY - SYBIL 16 NE ROOM AT THE TOP - ADAM ANT 17 11 TEARS ON MY PILLOW - KYLIE MINOGUE 18 12 INSTANT REPLAY - YELL! 19 NE DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY - AEROSMITH 20 10 GOT TO HAVE YOUR LOVE - MANTRONIX Luxembourg scored 16 in the 20 in 1990. Missing with Brits 09 (medley), Stone Roses - Elephant Stone, Guru Josh (Infinity, the first time around), and Ben Liebrand`s re-mix of Ram Jam`s "Black Betty". Like a flash those miraculously appeared on the Luxy Top 20 chart, on the following week at 4,6,8, and 13 respectively! Also, over on Luxembourg: Sinead O`Conner only spent the one week at number one (where as on the Gallup chart, she managed 4 weeks). Obviously, the gang at 208 preferred Technotronic because they spent 2 weeks at the top on their "thrown together" chart!
February 23, 200916 yr   Love Sinead O Connor on retro chart timeless classic. Love the Cher tune 2 "JLJJ".
February 23, 200916 yr I remember Beats International, great track and if I remember rightly Vogue knocked it off. 96 Tears is one of the best tracks from the Stranglers.
February 23, 200916 yr Thanks Dave Sad Madcon - Liar is flopping, but I kind of expected it :( Where are Empire Of The Sun on albums?
February 23, 200916 yr Cheers for this. I don't think we'll know how things will play out in the top10 until the iTunes top10 settles down a bit, it's constantly changing at the moment. Could T.I. put in a late challenge?
February 23, 200916 yr Thank you for posting Dave this is exactly the type of prediction I remember on Radio Luxembourg. Agree with the top Album predictions, although unsure of the position of #1 and #2.

Could T.I. put in a late challenge? I was thinking that, unless Taylor Swift gets her ass into gear (I hope she doesn't) she could be toppled by Lady Gaga and T.I. I think Kelly is safe though.
February 24, 200916 yr From your avatar, you don't look like you would have a problem with Lady Gaga making it...
February 24, 200916 yr No no! I'd love for "Poker Face" to be number one but I know that it'll be the week after next at the earliest although she'll probably stall at numbers two or three. In all honesty, I don't really like "Love Story." :P Edited February 24, 200916 yr by Xamkou
February 24, 200916 yr I remember Beats International, great track and if I remember rightly Vogue knocked it off. was quite a good version re 'Dub' though personally preferred the original SOS Band vrs, and Snap! 'The Power' knocked it off #1 (official chart)....and then 'Vogue'.... on 'Dub's' 4th and final week at no.1 it sold "about 45,000 copies...250 more than 'Love Shack' - B52's" as reported at the time by Alan Jones in an old copy of Record Mirror
