Robbie's back for Comic Relief

05 Mar 2009

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is making his long-awaited comeback on Comic Relief, The Sun can reveal.

He will join MATT LUCAS, DAVID WALLIAMS and CATHERINE TATE for a Little Britain USA sketch.

Robbie, 35 — who recently moved back to the UK after “hiding” in Hollywood for years — played a Laydee friend of the show’s transvestite Emily Howard for Comic Relief in 2005.

This time, it is rumoured he could be turned into an X-rated Gym Buddy.

A source said: “He jumped at the chance to help out.”

The sketch will be shown on the BBC’s Red Nose Day coverage on Friday 13th.

Robbie Williams is poised to make his long-awaited return to the limelight for Comic relief next week.

The fallen Take That singer will reportedly team up with Little Britain stars Matt Lucas, David Walliams and Catherine Tate for a Little Britain USA comedy gig.

It will be the first public appearance Williams has made since leaving LA and moving into his Wiltshire mansion earlier this year.

Robbie Williams's Little Britain sketch may not be his greatest hit

What might have been going through the singer's mind when he agreed to this stunt with David Walliams and Matt Lucas?

Hi! I'm Robbie Williams. Here's a photo of me with my favourite comedy buddies, David Wulliams and Matt Lucan. We're doing a sketch for Comic Relief in which I play an American toddler called Candy Marie-Candy – the best friend of foul-mouthed tyke Ellie-Grace (left). It's brilliant. Let me talk you through the picture.

First off, you're probably wondering why I look so small. This is because I bent my legs at the knees before slowly lowering myself to the floor. This is a technique known as "method acting".* I did offer to have my legs amputated for the sketch but my close personal friend David Wolliams told me that might send the wrong message to my billions of fans. Those were his actual words: "billions of fans". I love David Welliams. He's almost as brilliant as Gary Barlow. Matt Leuchars took a different approach to the size issue. He's standing on 11 copies of my hit 2006 album Rudebox (£7.96RRP).

You might have noticed that the knuckles of my right hand have turned red. This is because I'm getting into the head space of the character, not because I have an overwhelming, clinging desperation to return to the limelight, even if it involves pretending to be a three-year-old girl for the purposes of charity.**

Finally, a word about my smile. Some might think my expression betrays a trace of anger, that my clenched jaw and joyless eyes mark the last stand of an artist determined to return to fame's golden embrace, by whatever means necessary. But I'm actually thinking about the fact that Howard Donald has agreed to go for a pint with me a week on Tuesday (finally!)

Basically, I'm back. And I'm as irrepressible as ever. And anyone who disagrees can take that and party!***

* Note to self: remind agent to chase up Holby cameo

** Did you get my letter, Gary?

*** Seriously, Gary, if you're reading this, get in touch, mate.

:arrr:

Robbie returns as a Little devil girl

Little Britain appearance for Robbie Williams

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

The fallen  Take That singer will make his appearance next week for Comic Relief in a TV comedy sketch with Little Britain stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

Kooky Robbie dolls up in pigtails for the scene to play the Devil girl taken over by Satan in the 1970s horror flick The Exorcist.

Speaking about his comical comeback, Williams said: 'In my old age I'm becoming a bit of an atheist having been brought up a good Catholic boy.

'But when I was rehearsing I wouldn't say those words about the Devil in case they made Beelzebub walk into my soul and take me over.'

'Seriously, there's something about saying those lines that scared me. He's a scary guy isn't he, Satan?'

But despite his fears, Williams says he's had some devilish practice at being Satan, in a mind boggling confession, telling: 'I've been practising being the Devil for 35 years.'

However, Robbie said the ladies nightwear put him at ease because he is used to wearing something similar around his new £7million Wiltshire mansion.

'It was a big deal for me... I got a bit nervous', Williams told Heat.

But the 35-year-old said of his style: 'It's easy in, easy out. It's as comfortable as the kaftan I wear normally... I do only wear kaftans around the house.'

It's not the first time Williams has dressed up as a Laydee for the comedy duo after he played Walliams's transvestite friend Emily Howard for the charity cause in 2005.

Robbie Williams and Catherine Tate Provide Comic Relief!

10th March 2009

Get ready for the best Comic Relief night of TV you’ve ever seen this Friday night! The fantastic line-up has just got even better now that David Walliams and Matt Lucas are coming back to our shores with two exclusive Little Britain sketches for the big TV show.

The Little Britain duo will be joined by the sensational pop star, Robbie Williams and comedy genius, Catherine Tate for a perfect comedy collaboration!

In the Uber Carol sketch, the credit crunch comes to Little Britain - and Carol (David Walliams) is summoned to her boss Dawn’s (Catherine Tate) office. Will Carol keep her job or will Dawn’s computer evaluation of her skills lead to the immortal line “Computer says no”?

And the second sketch will see Ellie Grace (Matt Lucas) get her friend Candy Marie-Candy (Robbie Williams) to sleepover. Whilst Mom (David Walliams) is cooking breakfast they begin to play a game of ‘I love you more…’ with some interesting results!

On filming the sketch, Robbie said, ‘It’s hard to say no when asked to take part in a Little Britain sketch for Comic Relief. But I have to admit that dressing up as a small American child in a pretty dress made it all the more appealing!’

These two brilliant sketches will form just part of a whole night of comedy gold in a one-off extravaganza of top telly treats on

Comic Relief – Funny for Money, this Friday on BBC One from 7pm.

Make sure you tune in!

Oh for God's sake. Nevermind the fact he's doing this for charity...give the bloke a break.

These so-called "journalists" make me sick.

Personally, I love seeing Robbie doing this kind of stuff. He's having a blast and he's hilarious!! He can wear moo-moo's and pig tails any time!!!

Mmmm Robbie in a dress! Not to keen on that but whatever´s making him happy is good for me aswell.

Looking forward watching it tomorrow, so happy it´s on BBC1 innit.
